Dream On

Dang, I really should have started this earlier. But I got a wild hair, and decided that I needed to make some chocolate chip cookies. hehe. Anyway, sitting down now to blog. It's 10:50pm. Lets see how quickly I can crank this out. :P

So when I got up this morning, I found Jim on the couch. He'd laid out his clothes for the day, and was tucked under the blanket that protects the couch from Boxer. TOO cute! hehe.

I was still super sleepy. I'd gotten up at 7am, read my scriptures, said prayers, and started to get kids ready for SAS/CDC camp. Captain America had Skyped me at 2:30am, and we'd messenged back and forth until around 3am. Then, of course, I couldn't go back to sleep. So I laid there and debated getting up to clean. Remember, I can only clean in the middle of the night if I get out of bed. I was gonna go fold laundry. But I must have fallen back asleep, because soon my alarm was going off, and it was time to get ready.

I threw on some clothes, grabbed my water and breakfast, and we all headed out the door. Jim was dropped off first, then Tom and Eme and Joe. Tom was SUPER upset that he had to go again. I know that he had fun yesterday. Anyway, I spent the drive to Biggs explaining to him the concept of "Embrace the Suck". Captain America learned about it in TRADOC (Army training school stuff). hehe. Things suck. And we can complain about it, or we can accept it, and "embrace it", and move on. Embrace the Suck, Tom.

We talked about how I had detail cleaned the house yesterday. And could I have done that with Joe and Jim in the house? Never. They'd be in the next room trashing something. I think he may have slightly got the idea by the time we got there.

Anyway, I headed back home. Captain America and I were supposed to catch up on Skype at 8am my time. He was a little late getting on Skype, but about 8:40am, he was there. And we talked and chatted for about 2 1/2 hours! It was SO wonderful. It'd been quite a while, actually. I was supposed to meet Terra and Amanda at the Japanese garden for photos (Amanda was taking pictures), but I was sure they'd understand :)

Jake woke up sometime in there, and got to Skype with his dad for a bit. I hopped in the shower, and then chatted with Captain America again when I put on my make up and fixed my hair. It was kinda like having him right there with me :) Miss ya, honey!

Captain America had to go and eat dinner, and it was time for me to get on with the day, so we said bye, and I finished getting ready. Amanda came and picked me and Jake up, and we headed out. Terra, Amanda, and the girls had gone to Costco. And Amanda had the 2 older girls in the car with her, and they were dropping off Frozen stuff at Amandas house. So they got us, dropped Jake off at the On Post Teen Center (he was gonna catch the shuttle at 12:15), and we headed out to meet Terra at lunch. Grand China Buffet. The same one that we went to with Laurie and Leslie.

We met Terra there, and the grown ups went to get food. We started with the Mongolian Grill.

Pick your veggies, and meats, and sauces, and junk, and put it all on a plate. Then the dude cooks it. Here's Terra's plate. The guy was too fast for me to snag a picture of mine. It was HUGE.
Terra and I posing for a photo :)

Here's my finished product! It was quite tasty :) Look at all that GARLIC! Super yum!
I got a "chicken on a stick", and a few crab ragoons, and that was it. I was SUPER full. And I ordered Water, too. Aren't you proud of me! I ate out, and I still ate (mostly) what I was supposed to :)

The twins like me - ha!

Krista had a blast picking out each of the sugar packets, then putting them back in the container again and again and again. (that's my chicken on a stick below - hehe)
Kendra LOVED playing in my Sweet and Sour Sauce. Or was it Krista. I think they traded seats at one point.... I don't know who I had - ROFL! Wait, yeah, Krista. You can tell by the non-chipped teeth. See, Terra, I'm learning!

And here's my fortune. Ever play the game where you have to add "In Bed" to the end of your fortune? Makes them a bit more lively. hehe.
Big Lots was JUST down the road, and we decided to go and give it a look-see. I was SO tempted to buy one of these. Why? I don't know. Because it was a dollar? hehe. But I resisted...
Amanda and I had to use the bathroom, so we headed back to the end of the store. And, of course, it was a one person bathroom. And it was full. And there was a 2 person line. But the mens was totally empty. So I had Amanda guard my door, and I went in there. hehe. Funny thing, there was a mirror hanging up, but it wasn't over the sink, where it would be in a Womans restroom. It was over the toilet. Strange, huh? Do men like to watch themselves pee???

Amanda didn't wanna wait in line anymore (she kinda had a tummy ache), so we hung out on the patio furniture and waited for the line to go down. Here we are, chillin'...

Ah Ha! I spot Terra!
We all sat and hung for a few minutes, then I got up and started wandering the isles again. I found a Sock Monkey for Andrea!!! hehe.
I ended up with a few things, but I'm not sure if I got anything good. hehe. I bought Oven Cleaner, and ant spray, and a TINY little frying pan (for a single egg), and some chocolate chips (hence the cookies), and a few other random things. And we paid, and headed out.

Amanda and I stopped by Howdys on the way home. Hello, 64 oz of Diet Dr Pepper! Long time, no see!! hehe. And, I found out that they discontinued the 64 oz cups! Now they have 52 oz cups. And they're not the hard plastic like before. More of a see through, 7-11 type cup. SO not cool... But they said that they'd still honor the 64 oz cups. Thank goodness I have a stock pile of them at home. See, it was good that I didn't throw them away - ha!

I got home, let Boxer out, and relaxed. Since I didn't make the photo shoot, I snapped a few pictures of myself with my camera for Captain America. Can't let a shower and fix yourself up day go to waste, right? hehe.

I sat down and watched a few episodes of 24, and designed a page in honor of Tom's "Embrace the Suck". I think I'm gonna make a WordArt pack out of it - hehe.
At 3:30pm, I left my room, and was productive. I folded I don't know how many loads of laundry, and arranged the dining room chairs in an arch around me. Each kid got their own chair of laundry. And they'd be putting it away first thing when they got home. ha! I started the LAST load of laundry in the laundry room, and even managed to get my own washed! I rock, I know :)

I straightened up the rest of the house a tad bit (nothing to intense like yesterday), put some chicken in the oven to cook, and headed out to pick up the kids. I got Jim for the CDC first, and he had a TON of papers to bring back home. He'd made a scene of his family (I think he was missing a few people), and they'd worked on some letters and numbers. Next, it was time to grab Tom and Eme and Joe.

Then to the Milam YAC to get Jake. Handy, that all 3 buildings are right in a row. Makes pick up easy :) The lady in charge at the YAC said that tomorrow from 4-5pm was Dog Day. And to bring your dog. So I think I'm gonna bring Boxer up, and hang with Jake and Boxer at the Youth Center. Then, when we're done, I'll go get Tom and Eme and Joe, then Jim, then drop Tom and Jake back off at the youth center, and take the other kids and Boxer home. Then we'll go to the Diablos game. It starts at 7pm. And I just found out that they youth center is open till 9pm on Wednesday and Thursday, and till 10pm on Friday and Saturday. Sa-weet! Jake and Tom neither want to go to the game. Hmpf! Oh well, 3 kids at the game will be much easier than 5 kids at the game, right?

Not sure what I'm doing tomorrow during my "break". I know I'm picking up Amanda and Austin on the way to childcare, and after we get them dropped off, I'm taking Amanda to pick up her hubbys car on Biggs. Then we're dropping it off at the Auto Crafts place for some routine maintenance. I also need to get something notarized from ACS, turn in Jakes paperwork, visit CYS main registration, pick up my prints from Walgreens, iron the name tag things for my mom, and send her package. OK, so maybe that's a full day right there. ROFL! I wanna try and get either my living room or my dining room detail cleaned tomorrow, too. Wish me luck!!!

And yeah, I totally got side tracked. ha! So I grabbed Jake, and we all headed home. And Jake was grouchy because he had to sit in the middle row of seats. Tom and I were planning on going to see Green Lantern after dinner. We got home, and everyone kinda fell apart. People were bickering and arguing, and kicking things around. Not sure what was going on.

Tom and Jake got into it big time. Tom ended up kicking Jake, and then slipped in some water and fell on his face. And he was SO mad. My mom would totally say "the devil got him". ha! He didn't find the situation amusing whatsoever, though...

He was crying and yelling and throwing things. And yeah, I told him that his behavior made him lose Green Lantern tonight. We'd try it again on Friday. He was like, PLEASE don't take it away! And he carried on with it for about 30 minutes. But I didn't relent. At one point, he was like, But mom, I embraced the suck! And I still don't get to go??? Poor kid...

I cooked dinner (chicken and MacNCheese), and everyone ate it. Some had to be forced to eat the chicken, but they all ate it. The mac n cheese was a SUPER big hit, at least. I have enough chicken left over to make something else out of it for tomorrow. Casserole or something...

Jake was grounded from Electronics for the night because of something he did in the car, so while Tom and Eme played on Laptops, Jake and Jim and Joe played in the pool. I went out to sit with the kids while they were in the pool, and Jake made it about 15 minutes before getting kicked out. He just doesn't get "socially acceptable" sometimes. If a little kids is annoying you, you can't hit them. Not when the kid is 5. You just can't. Sigh. I really need to call and set up an appointment for him with the therapist that the Autism Support group leader lady told me about. (adds to every growing list of things to do...).

Kids were all out of the pool by 8:30pm, and in bed by 9pm. Not necessarily asleep, but in Bed. I think Jake is "sleeping over" in Joe and Jim's room. They were watching a movie on the little portable DVD. I watched some more 24, and the season finale of season 3, then, instead of blogging like I was supposed to (it was 9:45pm), I headed out to the kitchen to make chocolate chip cookies.

I'd set out the butter much earlier in the day, and it had melted everywhere. Jim or Joe had tried to save it, but I think they just made a bigger mess out of it. But they were trying. And there was a bowl involved. It worked...

Anyway, I followed the directions on the back of the package of chocolate chips, and they turned out spectacular! Cutest little round chocolate chip cookies I've ever made! I tasted one, and even though it was generic chocolate chips, the cookies still tasted heavenly! I gave a sample to each kid who was still awake, finished off the cookies, and headed back to my room to blog.

It's now 11:30pm. And I need sleep. But I may try and squeeze in an episode of season 4 24. Sleep is overrated, right? hehe.

You should watch the movie "Beastly". Embrace the Suck plays a special role in the show. It has been awhile since I've seen it so not sure if it is appropriate for younger kids, but great for older kids. It is sort of a modern day take on Beauty and the Beast and has a good message that we should never judge someone based on how they look.
