Playing Footsie

Morning, all! Hope your Sabbath day was restful and worshipful :) Mine was :) Woke up at 7:20am, and really didn't feel like taking a shower. So I wore my hair back, threw on some clothes, and reapplied part of my make up. Yeah, wouldn't you know it was the day that Captain Americadecided we needed new couples pictures after church - hehehe. Always works out that way :)

Anyway, got ready, got kids fed and ready, and headed to church at 8:30am. Maddie opted out of church today. Lily (18 months) wouldn't sit last week, and Maddie spent the whole time in the car with her. Our building is SO old, there's no lobby, and TONS of stairs, so it was just easier for Mad to go to the car with her. Then, neither of her kids would stay in Nursery without her, so she was there the whole time. She figured it would be easier to just stay home.

So I volunteered to take Ella. As long as Maddie didn't have a problem with it, I wasn't opposed to just letting her be sad and leaving her in nursery. Most kids snap out of it fairly quickly. And she did fine :) She didn't even cry when I left her in there. Maddie said that she usually LOVES nursery, and that last week must have just been a fluke. Maybe because Lily was crying and sad Ella was sad too. Who knows with little kids...

Sacrament meeting was good. Eme and Tom and Joe sat in one row,Captain America and Jim and Ella and I in another, then Jake sat behind us when he was done passing the Sacrament. Really, there's not enough room for more than about 3 people in those side rows, where we sit. So we took up 3 rows.

I sat by Captain America in Sunday School, then we had a fun row in Relief Society. It was me and Laurie and Tammy and Chelsie and Hilary. Aimee was there for a bit, but had to leave. She's prego with #4, and SUPER sick. In and out of the hospital the whole pregnancy is typical for her. So she left shortly after the meeting, looking a bit green. Poor thing.

Captain America and I snapped a few pics in the church parking lot before heading home. Wanna see?

Here's me as we left for home. Jake snapped this one of me.

Um, yeah, I didn't realize that the zoom was on. ROFL! Well, there's a good shot of my EYE! You can totally see my contact - ha!
Here we are :) See Captain America's thrift store find? That blazer was only about $8.
So I decided that with my heel boots and standing on the up part of the slope, I was too tall. So I switched Captain America places, and ducked. See how short I am?
Captain America wanted a pic of just me. Here I am :)

So we went home, and got lunch. I had cheese and crackers and cucumbers, and the kids had bagel/cheese/bologna sandwiches with cream cheese. Except for Tom and Joe. They've created this thing called a "Bagel Burger". Bagel, cream cheese, cheese slice, bologna, ketchup, mustard, sliced pickles, tomato, lettuce, and sauerkraut. NASTY! But, whatever. I wasn't eating it, they were - hehehe. They added all the extra garnishes themselves - hehe.

We sat down on the couch together, and all watched movies for the afternoon. I know I dozed off a few times, and I know Captain America dozed off more than a few times - hehehe. We made popcorn at one point, and ran out of microwave popcorn, so broke out the air popper. You'd have thought it was Christmas with the amount of excitement it generated - LOL. I just HAD to grab my camera and snap a few photos.

I even got some popcorn. 50 grams of popped popcorn is almost one microwave bag. Of the almost fat free stuff. 97% or something like that. I don't know. It was tasty, that's all I know :)

At one point, Captain America decided to go lay down in bed, and was out for most of the rest of the day. Poor thing was still recovering from Staff Duty on Friday night. I cooked dinner for the kids, and they ate at 6pm. Hash brown, egg, and sausage casserole. Plus toast. They were pretty happy.

So the other day, the baby knocked my laptop off of a couch. I know, I shouldn't have left it sitting there. Dumb me. I came back in the room, and the kids were like, "Mom, Lily knocked your laptop on the floor". I picked it up, and took it in my room, figuring it was fine. I'd already finished blogging for the day, so I didn't turn it on until the next morning.

And there was something wrong with the screen. There were lines through it in a 1 inch strip about 5/6th of the way across vertically, and the bottom 1/5th had lines horizontally. I just made my working area tinier, and I was able to see. Kinda sucked, but I DID leave it out where a 1 year old could get to it. Lesson learned.

Anyway, today I was designing an invitation for ECLIPSE. It's coming to the On Post theater on Friday the 13th, and I thought it would be fun to get a bunch of couples to go together and see it. Anyway, I downloaded a few of Flergs kits (Denim Blues Reloaded, Psycho Magnet Reloaded, Estranged Extras) and made the CUTEST page for it, and my screen went white. Absolutely white. And of course, I hadn't saved it. Sigh.

So I turned it off, and restarted it. And it was fine, but still had the lines. But not all white. And after about 2 minutes, it went white again. Crap!

Then I realized that I could hook it up to my 46 inch TV, and I could see the screen there. Yeah, I should have hooked it up there when it first went white, then I could have saved it. ROCK. So I hooked it up to the massive TV, and the kids all watched me re-design the invite. It was kinda neat having it on the MASSIVE tv. A little inconvenient, but better than nothing :)

Maddie's husband does computers, so I'm gonna see if he can help me get my screen fixed while he's here weekend after next.

So, you wanna see my flier?

Captain America woke up at around 7pm, and we all called his Dad, Paul. It's his Birthday. Here's me on the couch while we all sang Happy Birthday to him. (Yeah, my hair was in a pony tail, and I took it out, so parts are still sticking up. Don't hate the hair....)

I liked this pic of Captain America and my feet - hehehe. (And no, Karin, those AREN'T my legs.... it was a shave everything day today...)

We put the phone on speaker, and let the kids talk to Grandpa Harty. It was the funniest thing! They kept trying to show him things, and nodding. Yeah, TOTALLY didn't get the concept of a phone. Here's Joe, trying to show Grandpa Harty his new jersey he got at the neighbors garage sale - LOL!

And Jimmy showing him his Whale toy he got at the garage sale.

I went upstairs and put the little boys to bed, and snuggled with them for a little bit. They're so sweet :) I came back downstairs, and helped Captain America sew his softball pants. He slid into 2nd the other day, and ripped a hole in them, and got a NASTY rug burn on his thigh. Silly boys and their games.... Anyway, we worked together and got them mended up pretty nicely.

After that, I started in on my blog, Maddie and her girls went to bed, and I sat down on my laptop hooked up to the ole 46 inch TV and designed and blogged away. Let me tell you, it makes my 17.3 inch screen look real puny. ha!

Very charming! One should always have date night, even if it's only the attitude and not necessarily the destination. Life is what you make it and I hope to have many many more dates with my husband. Thanks for sharing this thought, your pics and this sweet word art!
