Slip N Slide

Don't forget, I have my bundle over at Scrapbookgraphics right now for only $11.11!! Save 78%. I'm just sayin'.... Click HERE to check it out :)

Hey there peeps :) How is your day going so far? It's 12:35am here on Tuesday nite, and I'm beat. I've gotta plow through this blog, design something, then go to sleep. Morning is gonna come WAY too fast for my liking, I'm afraid...

I got up today at 7:30am, and made French Toast for the kids, and cleaned up the kitchen a bit. Maddie and I got mostly ready (minus the shower), and she and I and Lily and Eme went to Fallas Paredes to look at a rug to match the one that Maddie bought yesterday.

Here's me mostly ready - ha!
We walked around and looked some more, then headed to Bassett Center to the Jewelry Box. My online buddy, Joy, wanted me to pick her up some of the rings that I bought yesterday. And they still had them, so I snagged 'em for her :) And of course I got a few things for myself, and a few things for Eme.

We headed home, and got ready for free lunch and pool. It was beans and rice and BBQ beef day.

We sat over by Danielle and her kids. Low and behold, there's a tiny bench where the little kids can actually reach the table over there. Who knew. So she wasn't just being anti-social! ROFL!

Jacob being silly (and I see Jimmy's rabbit ears in the photo too!)

Maddie and I had found this really cool Slip N Slide, 3 lane thingy on Craigslist, and texted and emailed the chickie about it. We were supposed to stop by her house after free lunch and before the pool and get it, but my phone's battery died about that time. So we just went to the pool.

And I have no pictures, because my phone's batter died... Anyway, we did have fun at the pool, but weren't there very long. We stayed for one pool break, and came home. Maddie had found Lily a swim floaty thingy at Goodwill yesterday, and I think Ella liked it more than Lily. Either way, one of the girls was having a TON of fun with it :)

We saw Hilary and Julie there at the pool, but didn't get to visit very long. We had to run. I was going with Karin to the Scout office to purchase some Scout supplies for the primary. So we had to hurry.

We got home in time for me to change my clothes, throw on some lip gloss, and out the door I went. We went to the Scout shop, and got Den books for all the leaders, a Den Leaders manual, and 3 copies of the new and improved Program Helps.

OK, for those of you in Cub Scouts, I HIGHLY recommend the new Program Helps! I looked through it when I got home, and they're AWESOME! It breaks down how to get your badge in 16 den meetings, plus shows you what to work on at home. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I'm really excited for the program to start up again.

Anyway, Karin and I got what we needed, and I agreed to help her get a calendar ready for all the new Scout people, and I'm gonna go meet with them on Wednesday night and help "get the ball rolling". So I need to write down some ideas between now and then...

We were only gone for about 40 minutes, then she dropped me back off at the house. I grabbed Ella, Jim, and Joe, and we headed over to the lady's house with the Slip N Slide. She seemed pretty nice, and we chatted for a few minutes, then I paid her, grabbed the Slip N Slide, and we headed back home.

Here we are in the backyard, playing on it. Well, here's Maddie watching us play on it...

Joe taking a rest in his lane

This 3 laner is SO much fun.

OK, special treat. You get to see me go on the Slip N Slide. Well, maybe it's more of a punishment than a treat - ROFL! Anyway, here it is... :)

So after playing on the Slip N Slide and getting ALL dirty and grassy, I came inside to take a shower. Hmm, when was dinner? I can't remember if dinner was before or after the Slip N Slide.... It must have been after. Anyway, I made pasta for the kids, and a stir fry of sorts with a limited number of pastas for me for dinner. It was tasty.

Anyway, here's me after my shower. With my skinny jeans and boots. What do you think? Can I pull off skinny jeans? I'm still not sure.... I did wear them in public, so I guess I don't think they look TOO bad - ha!

So at bedtime, we put the kids down, and Maddie and Captain America and I headed to to Outlet Malls. Captain America needed to get new running shoes for Work. We all drove over together, and Maddie headed off to Rue 21, and Captain America and I went to look for shoes.

Last time I ran with Maddie, besides the fact that I almost died from previous lack of exercise, I was SWEATING my butt off, for lack of proper running clothes. So I wanted to remedy that situation - hehehe.

We always deal with the same chickie at New Balance, and she's SUPER nice. She gave us her employee discount (didn't know she was gonna do that!), so we ended up with 40% off our order. I was pretty happy. I got a new pair of running shoes, a top with built in sports bra, and shorts that look like a skirt. It's pretty cute. I'll take a pic one of these days. Plus, Captain America got new running shoes. And our total was only $82. We save $20 a month, then buy shoes. So the money was all saved and allotted before we bought it. I love it when a plan comes together, you know :)

Here's Maddie and I at The Jewelry Box. I wanted to get a snake ring for Jake as a "Thanks for babysitting today" present. Eme had picked one out when we went earlier, and he LOVED it. Maddie and I are posing in the first picture...

And pretending to look at stuff in the 2nd. Look how intently we're looking at either each other or the stuff. ROFL!

We met up with Maddie, and went to a few more stores in the 15 minutes the mall was open (REAL fast), then headed to Circle K for some DDP (Diet Dr Pepper). Then on to Walmart. We don't have a school supply list first, but I figured if I didn't go buy some basic supplies now, they'd all be gone. I got 20 glues, 40 glue sticks, 20 boxes of crayons, a compass, and 5 boxes of colored pencils. I still need paper and notebooks and such. But they didn't have the inexpensive stuff at this Walmart, or they were all out.

We walked around a bit more, getting odds and ends things that you always find at Walmart that you need. Darts for the dart board, wipes, razors, bandaids. You know, typical "I need this" stuff from Walmart.

We headed back to the food, and Maddie decided to stop for a Happy Meal. hehehe. I left her in line, and went to get some food for Jimmy for after his surgery. Go Gurts, some regular yogurt for him, popsicles, ice cream, push ups, Capri Suns. Yeah, the other kids are gonna hate him - ROFL! I did buy some Otter pops for the rest of the kids, so hopefully that helps.

We went back to McDonalds, and Maddie was still waiting for her food. We sat and waited with her, and then her food was finally done. She bought a cookie for both Captain America and I, so we sat and ate with her.

See, Andrea, I'm eating a cookie. And I really ate the WHOLE thing. Cause 1 cookie a day (plain) is on my Refeed part of my diet (the maintenance part...). I really was good. I don't know why I looked pained...

So after we ate, we went in line to pay, went to the bathroom, and headed home. My feet were KILLING me from those high heel boots, so Captain America went and got the car and picked us up at the front. What a SWEET man. He even helped me get my boots off, and unloaded all of our stuff into the car. Love ya, hon!

We drove home, unloaded, put the big kids to bed, and I cleaned up my bedroom. Here it is, 1:05am, and the house is quiet. No one else is awake. Hmmm, I wanna join the sleeping ones, I think. Yawns.

Speed Demon

First off, be looking for some FABULOUS things from Scrapbookgraphics for the month of August! It's our 7 year birthday celebration, and it's gonna be a GREAT party :) First off, you can click HERE to go and see us on Facebook and like us :) I guess we got a new Facebook page, so if you already liked us somewhere else, you'll need to like us here now :P

And, since you're in the "liking" mood, you can find my fan page HERE on Facebook. You wanna like me too, right?

Howdy, all! Hope your day went well. Mine was good, with a few rough patches. Well, not rough rough, but rough. If that makes any sense. hehehe.

Got up at around 7:30/8am, got food for the kids, for myself, and did a few chores. Captain America and I had some chats about how to get and keep the house a bit cleaner, and I did a few more chores around the house. It was getting kinda messy.

At 10am, I made banana bread with all the left over rotten bananas. And it wasn't quite ready when we left for free lunch at 11am. I asked either Jake or Tom to volunteer to stay home to watch it, and take it out when the timer went off. Tom volunteered. I fixed him a lunch of hot dogs, yogurt, and pringles sticks. He seemed pretty happy about it.

We headed to free lunch around 11am. It was Mac N Cheese day. BUT, the veggie was peas, so the mac and cheese tasted like peas. Mac N Peas it should have been called. Well, ok, I didn't taste it, but that's the feedback I was getting from the kids...

Here's Jimmy with a milk mustache (or would that be goatee)

Joe hiding from my camera. I tricked him and took this shot of him from UNDER the table. Ha!
Eme, Lily, and Maddie
Me. Yeah, I think tomorrow is gonna be shower day. I REALLY need one - hehe
Eme
So they ate, then we all came back home. Captain America was there for lunch, and we hung with him till around 1:45pm. Maddie put Lily down for a nap, the other kids were occupied with electronical something or anothers, so we left Jake in charge, and headed out to shop. Maddie wanted to look for a bathroom set at Fallas Paredes. Because they have SUCH cheap prices.

We took Captain America's little car cause it has good A/C, and he took his truck to work. So as I'm getting ready to leave post, a Policeman (MP) pulls me over. Nice. Yup, I was slightly speeding. But I was totally coming to a stop, because there was a stop sign RIGHT in front of me. Sigh.

Here's me, not too happy to be getting pulled over. Cause I don't speed on post. My truck is slower than dirt. Really. I got 5 under constantly. Ask my sister. Had I not been driving Captain America's car, it wouldn't have happened.

So the dude pulls me over, and I give him my ID, license, registration, and insurance, and he goes and sits in his police car FOR-EVER! Seriously, what was he doing back there. SO not cool. At least we had A/C, or I would have been ticked even more.

Yeah, I totally got a ticket. $115 for going 8 miles over the speed limit. Sigh. I guess my "flirt yourself out of tickets" skills don't work on pudgy, lispy MP's..... grrrrr.

It started to put a damper on my trip, but I decided to not let it get me down. We continued on with our trip. Fallas had a TON of great things. Maddie found rugs for her new house which were AWESOME.

I got a few new shirts, and a bathroom rug set, and a bath mat. I was pretty happy with my finds. Oh yeah, and a cool bathroom accessory that I'm gonna turn into a ring holder. I'll take a pic tomorrow for ya. It's pretty cool, I think :)

After Fallas, we headed to Goodwill, which was on the same street. And OMGosh, they had a TON of super cute boots. I was in love. hehehe. I got a pair of tall brown and tall black boots. Maddie is gonna teach me how to wear skinny jeans with boots. Cause I'm an old fart and can't figure it out on my own. She even helped me find a pair of $3 goodwill skinny jeans. hehe.

I also found a shirt I liked there, and a pair of Steve Madden zebra high heels. I fell in love with them! They were in a dark brown and white-ish cream, and I would have liked black and white better, but it was still good.

AND I found these green sandals with a cork looking bottom and wedge, for under $4. Can't beat that.

I ended up with 2 pairs of long boots, those green sandals, the Madden shoes, and a shirt or two for $47. Not bad, when the Madden shoes should have been $70-80 alone...

We swung by the Dollar Tree real fast (it was on the same road too), then hit Circle K and Little Caesars, then came home. Lily had just woken up, and the kids were SUPEr excited for pizza.

We put our things away, ate dinner, and got ready to go to Captain Americas softball game. About 5 minutes before I was ready to walk out of the house, Captain America called and said that the other team bailed, so they were gonna just scrimmage, then come home. Easier for us :)

Here's me in my new shirt from Fallas. It's cool cause it has a hood. And hoods are cool, you know..

I was gonna hook up the slip n slide for the kids, but I couldn't find it. hmmm. I wonder if it got thrown away on our last "cleaning project" day...

Here's the little girls playing in the backyard

We cleaned up inside the house, and did some more chores. I even moved the living room furniture to get the stuff out of there. We found a TON of stuff hiding under the couches...

Captain America came home and helped us clean for a bit, then we had Family Home Evening. We finished folding laundry and putting it away, then the kids all went to bed. It's now 11:32pm, and I still need to design something. At least I'm done blogging, right? hehe.

Playing Footsie

Morning, all! Hope your Sabbath day was restful and worshipful :) Mine was :) Woke up at 7:20am, and really didn't feel like taking a shower. So I wore my hair back, threw on some clothes, and reapplied part of my make up. Yeah, wouldn't you know it was the day that Captain Americadecided we needed new couples pictures after church - hehehe. Always works out that way :)

Anyway, got ready, got kids fed and ready, and headed to church at 8:30am. Maddie opted out of church today. Lily (18 months) wouldn't sit last week, and Maddie spent the whole time in the car with her. Our building is SO old, there's no lobby, and TONS of stairs, so it was just easier for Mad to go to the car with her. Then, neither of her kids would stay in Nursery without her, so she was there the whole time. She figured it would be easier to just stay home.

So I volunteered to take Ella. As long as Maddie didn't have a problem with it, I wasn't opposed to just letting her be sad and leaving her in nursery. Most kids snap out of it fairly quickly. And she did fine :) She didn't even cry when I left her in there. Maddie said that she usually LOVES nursery, and that last week must have just been a fluke. Maybe because Lily was crying and sad Ella was sad too. Who knows with little kids...

Sacrament meeting was good. Eme and Tom and Joe sat in one row,Captain America and Jim and Ella and I in another, then Jake sat behind us when he was done passing the Sacrament. Really, there's not enough room for more than about 3 people in those side rows, where we sit. So we took up 3 rows.

I sat by Captain America in Sunday School, then we had a fun row in Relief Society. It was me and Laurie and Tammy and Chelsie and Hilary. Aimee was there for a bit, but had to leave. She's prego with #4, and SUPER sick. In and out of the hospital the whole pregnancy is typical for her. So she left shortly after the meeting, looking a bit green. Poor thing.

Captain America and I snapped a few pics in the church parking lot before heading home. Wanna see?

Here's me as we left for home. Jake snapped this one of me.

Um, yeah, I didn't realize that the zoom was on. ROFL! Well, there's a good shot of my EYE! You can totally see my contact - ha!
Here we are :) See Captain America's thrift store find? That blazer was only about $8.
So I decided that with my heel boots and standing on the up part of the slope, I was too tall. So I switched Captain America places, and ducked. See how short I am?
Captain America wanted a pic of just me. Here I am :)

So we went home, and got lunch. I had cheese and crackers and cucumbers, and the kids had bagel/cheese/bologna sandwiches with cream cheese. Except for Tom and Joe. They've created this thing called a "Bagel Burger". Bagel, cream cheese, cheese slice, bologna, ketchup, mustard, sliced pickles, tomato, lettuce, and sauerkraut. NASTY! But, whatever. I wasn't eating it, they were - hehehe. They added all the extra garnishes themselves - hehe.

We sat down on the couch together, and all watched movies for the afternoon. I know I dozed off a few times, and I know Captain America dozed off more than a few times - hehehe. We made popcorn at one point, and ran out of microwave popcorn, so broke out the air popper. You'd have thought it was Christmas with the amount of excitement it generated - LOL. I just HAD to grab my camera and snap a few photos.

I even got some popcorn. 50 grams of popped popcorn is almost one microwave bag. Of the almost fat free stuff. 97% or something like that. I don't know. It was tasty, that's all I know :)

At one point, Captain America decided to go lay down in bed, and was out for most of the rest of the day. Poor thing was still recovering from Staff Duty on Friday night. I cooked dinner for the kids, and they ate at 6pm. Hash brown, egg, and sausage casserole. Plus toast. They were pretty happy.

So the other day, the baby knocked my laptop off of a couch. I know, I shouldn't have left it sitting there. Dumb me. I came back in the room, and the kids were like, "Mom, Lily knocked your laptop on the floor". I picked it up, and took it in my room, figuring it was fine. I'd already finished blogging for the day, so I didn't turn it on until the next morning.

And there was something wrong with the screen. There were lines through it in a 1 inch strip about 5/6th of the way across vertically, and the bottom 1/5th had lines horizontally. I just made my working area tinier, and I was able to see. Kinda sucked, but I DID leave it out where a 1 year old could get to it. Lesson learned.

Anyway, today I was designing an invitation for ECLIPSE. It's coming to the On Post theater on Friday the 13th, and I thought it would be fun to get a bunch of couples to go together and see it. Anyway, I downloaded a few of Flergs kits (Denim Blues Reloaded, Psycho Magnet Reloaded, Estranged Extras) and made the CUTEST page for it, and my screen went white. Absolutely white. And of course, I hadn't saved it. Sigh.

So I turned it off, and restarted it. And it was fine, but still had the lines. But not all white. And after about 2 minutes, it went white again. Crap!

Then I realized that I could hook it up to my 46 inch TV, and I could see the screen there. Yeah, I should have hooked it up there when it first went white, then I could have saved it. ROCK. So I hooked it up to the massive TV, and the kids all watched me re-design the invite. It was kinda neat having it on the MASSIVE tv. A little inconvenient, but better than nothing :)

Maddie's husband does computers, so I'm gonna see if he can help me get my screen fixed while he's here weekend after next.

So, you wanna see my flier?

Captain America woke up at around 7pm, and we all called his Dad, Paul. It's his Birthday. Here's me on the couch while we all sang Happy Birthday to him. (Yeah, my hair was in a pony tail, and I took it out, so parts are still sticking up. Don't hate the hair....)

I liked this pic of Captain America and my feet - hehehe. (And no, Karin, those AREN'T my legs.... it was a shave everything day today...)

We put the phone on speaker, and let the kids talk to Grandpa Harty. It was the funniest thing! They kept trying to show him things, and nodding. Yeah, TOTALLY didn't get the concept of a phone. Here's Joe, trying to show Grandpa Harty his new jersey he got at the neighbors garage sale - LOL!

And Jimmy showing him his Whale toy he got at the garage sale.

I went upstairs and put the little boys to bed, and snuggled with them for a little bit. They're so sweet :) I came back downstairs, and helped Captain America sew his softball pants. He slid into 2nd the other day, and ripped a hole in them, and got a NASTY rug burn on his thigh. Silly boys and their games.... Anyway, we worked together and got them mended up pretty nicely.

After that, I started in on my blog, Maddie and her girls went to bed, and I sat down on my laptop hooked up to the ole 46 inch TV and designed and blogged away. Let me tell you, it makes my 17.3 inch screen look real puny. ha!
