Pretty

Howdy girls :) Welcome to Thursday :) My little Joe Joe's bday is today. He's 6 years old.

But lets talk about Wednesday - hehehe. Wednesday was a long, but good, day. Started off around 8am. I got breakfast for myself and the kids, hung on the back patio with Captain America for a while, then around 9am decided to go to Biggs sprinkler park with my friends and sister. They texted and said they were going. Woohoo for playdates.

We got on our swim clothes, and headed out. I left the big 2 boys at home. The sprinkler park isn't so much fun for big kids - hehehe. Plus, they fought last time, so I made them stay home.

Me in my swim clothes

We met Hilary and Teri and Laurie and Julie at the sprinkler park, and stayed for about an hour. Jimmy could only sit on the edge, and Lily's a bit crazy (hehehe - she's 1, what can I say...).

But here's a few pics from the sprinkler park:

Jimmy and I

Ella
Teri and Laurie (and a few kids)
Jimmy and I and Maddie in the background
Ella showing us how she can put her tongue UP her nose - hehehe

We went to free lunch, hung out with Danielle there for a bit, and headed back home. We got the kids all situated, and got ready for the day. I needed a shower - hehehe. Hilary and Maddie and I and the little kids were gonna go to the West Side to go shopping for Joe's birthday.

Here's a pic of me in my new shirt I took off the mannequin last night - ha!

So Hilary came over, and we pulled out the car seats, and got all ready to go, and the strollers, and the kids, and there was screaming, and crying (not from the grown ups), and weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth (oh wait, not that...), and we decided to skip the trip. The little kids were having nothing to do with it, and we hadn't even left yet. Hilary went home, and ended up going to the West side with her man after work, and Maddie and I and the kids came back inside, spent about an hour or so getting people calmed down, then headed out.

We drove to the East Side, and went to Walmart. We found some GI Generic (hehe) soldiers to put on Joe's cake. From my mom. It's gonna be a cool cake, I think. We're eating cake Thursday at 4pm, I think, at home. Mmmmm, cake. Oooo, I think I'll get some ice cream to go with it. Chocolate Fudge cake with German Chocolate cake frosting (the nuts and coconut, you know). What kind of ice cream would go best with that?

Anyway, I got some school supplies, so copy paper, and those GI Generic guys, and we headed out. To Savers. Cause it's close to the Walmart over there. I love Savers.

I thought they had a different colored tag on sale each week, but apparently it's only every Thursday. Sigh. Fortunately, today was Military/Senior/Student discount day. 20% off (but the lady accidentally gave us 30% off). I wonder if it's every Wednesday, or just this one. I'll have to call and ask.

I found this shirt, and thought it was funny, but didn't buy it - hehehe.
I got a new hoodie (O'Neils - brown), and Hurley shoes, and some red dressy shoes, and a purple shirt, all for $19. Pretty good :)

We hurried home, fed the kids, and I had to head off to a Cub Scout committee meeting, and Jake had Young Mens. Here's a pic Jake took of me in the car. See my new purple shirt?

The committee meeting went FABULOUS! We had the primary president, the 2nd counselor in primary (who's the committee chair), the cubmaster, our 2 den leaders, the bishopric member over scouts, and 2 parents. It's amazing what you can do when all of your key leaders show up - ha! I'm excited about the year in Scouting. Should be a good time :)

Jake and I headed home, and stopped by Circle K to get sodas for the grown ups at home. Mmmm, soda :)

Maddie and Captain America and I sat down to watch a movie on the couch, and I started blogging. Here's Maddie and I, both with our new thrift store hoodies on. Aren't we cute :)

Tomorrow at 8am I have a doctors appointment, then we're doing McDonalds for lunch for Joe's bday. Captain America has another softball game playoff Thursday night, and Maddie's husband Joe flies in at 10pm. Should be another good and fun filled day :)

Purse

Hey there :) Hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday :) Mine was good. Tiring, but good.

Woke up at 7am, after having gone to bed near 2am. Yeah, I was tired. I wished I could have slept longer, but motherhood was calling :)

I got up, got meds for kids, got breakfast, got movies, got whatever else people needed, and got myself dressed. Maddie and I were going to the thrift shop at 9ish am. We took Jimmy and Lily, hopped in my truck, and off we went. Jake was watching the kids who stayed home. We brought 2 strollers for the kids, and Hilary met us there. No one else on Facebook decided to come and play :( Ok, ok, so maybe it's because they live WAY far away to come and play, and not because they didn't want to. Cause you all would have come and played, right? hehe.

I found a few good things at the Post thrift shop. Like this hat. Everyone needs one, right? hehee.

See, Jimmy liked it.

OK, so I didn't buy it. I was gonna buy that ugly lion, but I didn't have enough cash. You have to either spend $20 on a debit or more, or just do cash. Between the 2 of us, Maddie and I had about $6 in cash. So we had to put some stuff back, and see what we really wanted. hehehe.

I ended up getting a shirt, and Eme got a few shirts, and Joe and Jim got an outfit, Jake got a shirt, and I got some shoes. I think that was it. It was $3.53. Not too bad :)

And here's Jimmy playing around in the cheap section. This was while his pain meds were still in effect :)

After the Post Thrift Shop, we ditched my truck, and Maddie and I and Jim and Lily went with Hilary in her car, and headed to Fallas Paredes. I wanted to get sheets for the new bunk beds. The ones that I really liked were only $7.99, but felt super cheap. There was another set for the same price, but they felt a bit better.

I got some more curtains for the kids rooms, since the other set got lost. Yeah, how do you possibly lose curtains.... sigh. I think that's all I got there.

Next, we stopped by Hilarys house to get some lunch, then headed to Goodwill. I found some shoes and a shirt I was thinking about getting, but ended up putting them back. Maddie got a few things, and Hilary found some sweat pant things.

We paid, and Maddie and I walked down to the Dollar Tree, and Hilary drove her car. Cause we had sleeping babies, and didn't wanna wake them to put them in a car to just take them out again. Strollers are a beautiful thing, you know :)

I found some plastic army men for Joe (he want's them for his b-day), a b-day banner, and a few other thing. Molassas cookies were on my list too. Mmmm, I like them :) I even had one with my afternoon snack.

After the dollar tree, we drove over to the Northeast side and got a soda from Circle K (Diet Mt Dew), then headed back home.

Hilary dropped us off at my truck at the thrift store, and Maddie and I and the kids headed back home.

Ella took a nap, and I helped Eme and Joe, and Jake and Tom clean their rooms. Jimmy laid in my bed, took some more meds, and felt much better. The poor little guy.

I set up my laptop in my room so I could do some work, and left the kids to cleaning their rooms. I'd helped with the big parts, and let them sort the smaller junk. Crazy kids.

So as I was hanging up curtain in Eme's room, I found her missing ones. Sigh. And the boy's missing green ones. Now I have a buttload of curtains. I hung up one pink, one green, and one purple one in Eme's room, and I really liked the look of it. What do ya think?

BUT, I did notice that I bought one of the wrong curtains in Emes room ,and one of the wrong curtains for Jake and Tom's room. 2 different sizes. Yeah, that's not working. So I would need to go back to the store and exchange them...

Also, Jake and Tom were saying how their bottom sheet (full) didn't fit on their bed, and that they couldn't get it to fit. I'd already put Eme's on, so I knew it fit. When I got upstairs to help them, they'd pulled it SO hard it had ripped. Sigh. I guess that bed has a queen bottom bunk. Oops. My bad. Now I need to go get them a different sheet set for the bottom. I think I'll go to Walmart and get one, since the Fallas ones seem to be a bit cheap.

It's now 4:32pm, and Captain America just texted and said he's on his way home! Woohoo! He's got a baseball game tonight that we're planning on going to. We'll see what else the night holds :)

OK, blogging part 2. LOL! It's now 10:07pm, I just got my wordart designed and hosted and linked up, now I'm finishing off my day in blog :) Gotta love it ;)

So I decided to start dinner at 5:15pm. I didn't really have anything to fix. I desperately need to go grocery shopping, but loathe to go. Andrea, hon. Why did you move? You've been my grocery shopping buddy FOREVER.... Sigh. On a positive note, their offer on a house in North Carolina was accepted, and they move in on the 17th! I'm SO excited for them :)

Anyway, so I have no menu, and no menu food. So I just started throwing stuff together for a stew. It looked pretty tasty.

I browned a package of ground turkey with some diced onion, then added it to my stew pot. I added 6 cups of water, and 4 diced potatoes. I added a package of Baja Lime marinade (no oil or vinegar, or anything else it called for, just the pack), and some garlic and onion powder.

I added a big can of diced tomatoes, and some chopped green onions. I diced up 3 yellow squashes, and a serving size of whole wheat spaghetti, broken into tiny little pieces, and let it cook until everything was tender. And some salt. I added salt.

Me, grouchy, because my food is taking WAY too long to cook...

We dished it up when it was done ,and took it to the game in plastic containers. I liked it. I let
Tom eat most of my potatoes. I did eat a few, though. I counted it as my carbs for my re-feed portion of my diet.

We got to the game a few minutes after it had already started, and sat and watched. Maddie brought her girls, but didn't stay long. Ella stayed to play with us, and she took Lily back home. Captain America's team won 16-1. Woohoo! It resembled nothing of a playoff game. They manhandled the other team. It was almost embarrassing.

We came home, got the kids to bed and situated, and Captain America and I headed out to go exchange the curtains. I got shorter in the blue and longer in the pink, like we needed. And we got some pencil sets for the kids for their first day of school. Captain America wanted to get it for them. A special treat from dad. It was cute.

AND, I found the cutest shirt on a mannequin early in the day, and when we went there tonight, I showed Captain America, and we took it off the mannequin, and bought it - ROFL! Sorry, Fallas, but there's a nakie mannequin in your store now :)

Ignore the no make up and tired face. I promise I'll fix myself tomorrow - ha! They have no trying-on room at Fallas, so I had to just slip it on over my shirt - ha!

Fallas sits right next to Big Lots, which had 15 minutes before it closed, so we ran over to see if they had any reasonably priced queen sheet sets. Nope, nothing cheap/cute enough to warrant buying. I'll go to Walmart tomorrow and look. I know they had cheap/cute ones there.

BUT, I did notice that they had Halloween stuff out. WHAAAAAAT? It's only the beginning of August. Are you kidding me? I guess it IS the next commercial holiday. But still...
We swung by the grocery store on the way home and picked up bread and milk and apples and a few other essentials, and made our way home.

So in the few minutes before we headed out to Fallas the 2nd time, I hopped online and grabbed a few minutes of the Scrabpookgraphics chat. And they were talking about one of the Summer Soiree challenges. SO, I'm making a WordArt to go with that!

It was a challenge to scrap 7 things inside of your purse. Hmmm, what's in my purse...

Dishtowel
1/2 package of saltine crackers
Captain America's phone (oops)
Circle K straw wrapper
Sugar Free Life Savers Wrapper
Tampon
Packet of Raspberry Vinegar from Subway (to use as salad dressing)

Ha! And me, being me, decided to make a WordArt about it :) Especially for Studio Gypsy (Lisa). Hope you like it, girl!

The Line That Never Ends

Man, oh man, I'm exhausted. It's 12:52pm, and I'm blogging. At least I've already designed the freebie. I have a snoring little boy sleeping on my shoulder, so it's slow going typing. He was sleeping on my bed, but I moved him to the couch, and he moved over to my couch after a few minutes. Hopefully he does well tonight, and in the next few nights, I can get him to go back to his bed. But for now, I want him where I can readily hear him if he has pain during the night.

Anyway, got up at 8am to Jimmy SCREAMING. He was awake, I think his throat was hurting, and he wasn't dealing well with Joe teasing him. Wasn't dealing well at all. We got him his antibiotic and his pain meds, and he was much better. And had a talk with Joe about teasing the poor post-op kid. hehe. Poor baby.

Captain America and I hurried and got ready, and he and Jimmy and I headed up to the school to register Jim for pre-k. Eme was still at the Nouhan's house, so it was just Jake and Joe and Tom at home.

We brought the stroller, so he didn't have to walk around, and packed some popsicles and gogurts and waters for him. He was content to sit in his stroller and eat. :)

I started on the paperwork, and it took FOREVER. Why in the world do they need all that information? My poor hand was killing me by the time I was done. AND, apparently Joe and Tom and Eme didn't get re-registered last year (and they don't automatically do it), so I had to fill out paperwork for ALL 3 of them, too. Sigh.

What seemed like HOURS and HOURS later, we were done. Captain America had a MRI at 2pm, and needed to go get some meds from the hospital at noon before he could take the MRI. So we got to the hospital parking lot, and he checks his phone, and realizes that the appointment is NEXT monday. Oops. hehehe. BUT, we have to go and pick up a prescription for Jake anyway, so we go inside, wait the 30 minutes in line to get Jakes meds, and head back home.

But since I'm starving, we swing by the hospital cafeteria first. OMHeavens, I liked the food! See that salad? It was only $3.30. And it had about double the meat you'd get from burger king or McDonalds. And the meat in the container was $1.40 for turkey, and $1.40 for beef. I thought I'd be able to eat it all, but my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I brought it home for dinner.

I decided that Captain America needed to bring me back to the hospital for a lunch date again soon - hehehe.

So we trekked back to the car, and headed home. But decided to swing by and pick up Eme before we got all the way home. She'd had a TON of fun at the Nouhans' house :) And I was glad :)

So we got home, and decided to clean the kids room to make room for the bunk beds that we'd got from Leslie. The kids SAID that they'd got their rooms cleaned, but yeah, they weren't. We moved everything to the side, and vacuumed real well. And got the upstairs bathroom cleaned, and the stairs, and the hallway. It looked a lot better when we were done.

Leslie and John were gonna come and show us how to build the bunk beds, but John got tied up at work, so we decided to do it in the evening instead of the afternoon.

Captain America worked on getting some carpet in his old truck, and I looked for the mysterious smelly smell in the garage. See all these plastic totes? I moved them all, one at a time, and smell tested inside each one. Nothing smelly. I was worried that it was gonna topple down on top of me. It was a TALL tower, and some of those boxes were heavy :)

And see how sweaty I got. That's NASTY! Girls shouldn't sweat like that, you know...
Around the time that I decided that it was stinkiest behind the garage fridge, but couldn't find the source, i realized it was dinner time, and came inside. The garage was cleaner and more organized, at least. Still stinky, though.

It was left over night. Taco bake or enchiladas. I had the left over meat from lunch and a cucumber. Around 6pm, we all loaded up in the truck and headed to Captain Americas game. We were a bit late getting out of the house, and I had to stop at the Shoppette for a drink. And 2 slushies for the kids to share. And some suckers. Only the essentials, you know :)

Here's a pic of Captain America getting walked to first. He scored on the next play, I think it was.
And this one is of Captain America hitting a foul ball. He got a strike the first time, this fly foul ball the second time, and a fly ball the 3rd time. And what should have been an easy catch for someone turned into 3 guys colliding with each other, and Captain America getting to 2nd. hehehe.
Which is probably why they called the game when Captain Americas team had a 20 point lead... Mercy call at 23-3. WE didn't get to see much of the game, since we were a bit late, and it got over early - ha!

So we decided to do a photo op for a while :)

Jimmy and his slushie
Mmmm, soda :)

Captain America and I
He was so proud of his "slide into home", or wherever it was he slid into - hehehe

Eme and Captain America
Jake and Captain America
Jim and Captain America
Tom and Captain America
Joe and Captain America
Leslie and John said that they were home, so we headed home, Captain America changed real fast, and we started in on building beds. And by WE, I mean that John and Captain America built beds, and that Leslie and I stood upstairs and chatted. Yeah, it was a great time :) hehehe. And the beds looked FABULOUS when WE were done :)

We put kids to bed, and at around 9pm, Captain America and I headed out for a soda. We drove to the Northeast side Circle K for a Diet Mt Dew. Oh yea :) Here's my favorite Circle K

And since Walmart was right across the street, and we had a list with 3 things on it, we stopped in. Well, let me tell you, there 's no "stopping in" at Walmart. That store will suck you in. Sigh.

We were there WAY too long. Especially since Captain America has to get up at 4am in order to be to his place on time tomorrow.

But we did have fun shopping there. We found all sorts of cool stuff. Like these plates - hehehe.
Me and my cart full of stuff - hehehe
And blueberries for under a dollar. Can't pass that one up :)

We did find spiral bound notebooks for $0.15 a piece, so we bought 2 boxes of them. I'm adding that to my generic school supply stash. It now includes notebooks and glue and crayons and glue sticks. Hmmm, wonder what else we'll need :) Oh yeah, and school supply boxes. I got some of those too :)

Anyway, we FINALLY had everything we needed, and headed to the register. And it took FOREVER. Cause they never have enough cashier's. Our lane had 6 people in it, and it was short. Captain America went to the bathroom ,and I stayed with the cart, then I went to the bathroom, and he stayed with the cart, and we only moved 1 person in line. Sigh. This was gonna take FOREVER. The line was never ending...

Somehow we managed to get to the front of the line, paid, and was on our way. We got home, up all the stuff away, I put Jimmy on the couch from my bed, and just now gave him another dose of meds. His throat was hurting again. Poor baby :( He's really doing a lot better during the day, though. I had to scold him for running around today - hehe. And I had to buy him more popsicles, because he's eaten all of them. Which is a good thing. That means he's staying hydrated :)

It's now 1:27am, and I'm sleepy. I'm going to the thrift store with my sister (and whoever else wants to join me) in the morning, and maybe a quick trip to Fallas. I need full sheets for the bottom bunk bed bunks. And the sets are cheap there. And maybe a new upstairs bathroom shower curtain and rugs. We'll see about that...

I'm Bored

Howdy hey, guys. How was your Sabbath day? Mine would have been a lot better had I been able to go to church. Sigh. I went to bed at around midnight, after watching "The Prestige", and starting "The Illusionist", but realizing I was WAY too tired to watch a movie.

Jimmy had fallen asleep on the couch, so he and I went to my bed to sleep. Captain America was gonna be gone till 9am, so we were good to go.

I woke up at 7am, and Jim was gone. He'd moved back to the couch at some point. I went out and snuggled with him for another hour, then everyone got up at 8am.

Jake and Tom and Eme and Joe fed themselves then got dressed. Karin was at our door at 8:40am to pick them up, and off they went.

Jim and Ella and Lily and Maddie and I watched some kid shows with the kids. Yeah, it was a LONG morning. I would much rather have been at church, let me tell ya :) I like going to church :)

Captain America got home at around 9:30am. Look how tired he is. He's trying his best to stay awake long enough to crawl into bed :)

And Jimmy eating! He decided he was hungry today, and has been eating ice cream and popsicles and yogurt and such. CONSTANTLY. hehehe.

Kids came home around 12:30pm, and I had lunch all ready and waiting for them. We watching movies quietly so Captain America could sleep, and that's about it. Eme went home with the Nouhan's after church, so it was just me and the boys. And Maddie and her girls.

I cooked dinner at 5pm, and took a bath at 6pm. Here it is, 7pm, and I'm gonna feed the kids some pudding pie, and send them to bed. Cause I'm done with kids for the day - ROFL! Too much family time, i think :) I wonder when Captain America is gonna be up. He did get up at 4pm, but went back to bed by 5pm. Staying up all night working really messes you up...

So tomorrow we're going to register Jimmy for preschool in the morning, and Captain America has some doctors appointments in the afternoon. For his stomach/digestion issues. Some cat scans or MRI's or something. I don't know. He's not supposed to eat after 10am, I know that much. And I think his appointment is at 2pm.
