Timing is Everything

Wow, what a crazy week it has been! Monday, it was so warm, that the kids were playing in the yard with bare feet! It was a blast. Warm and nice. By Tuesday, it was raining so hard, I thought the whole state of Ohio would wash away. Flooding, rivers bulging, crazy rain. I felt like I was on the Oregon Coast again!

Wednesday night, we heard that a storm was on it's way. Expect over 12 inches of snow. Yeah, right, I thought. In Southern Ohio? Maybe in Chicago, but not here. Well, school was dismissed early on Friday (except my poor kids, who felt cheated since they're homeschooled) , and my poor husband barely made it home, through all the snow. 4 inches Friday during the day, then a lull, then it started again. It snowed on and off all night long, then it's back at it again today. Yeah, I'd say we have about 12 inches.

Southern Ohio isn't really prepared for weather like this (unlike Chicago, which never cancelled a day of school the whole time we were there, and we got TONS more snow that this). They even cancelled CHURCH! That never happens :)

We had a TON of fun playing in the snow this morning. We even made a Jaba the Hut snowman. He's even GREEN! So cool. I'll post pictures later!

This WordArt suggestion came from Geezee, who liked the Attitude is Everything, and wanted to also see Timing is Everything. So true, so true! Hope you like it!

Nonsense

Wow, Blogger is really having some issues today. I'm having the hardest time getting anything done on here today. Hopefully it lets me post the rest of these :)

This WordArt is for Teri. Don't you just love Dr. Seuss! He's the best. Apparently, when I was little, I wanted my mom to read the same Dr. Seuss book over, and over, and over again. Hehehe. That sounds familiar. Now I know where my kids get it from!

This WordArt is for Laura, who wanted something special for her children, who are 15 and 2. I thought, since the big age gap, surely I would be able to find a quote about siblings with a large age gap. Apparently, I was wrong. I searched for almost 45 minutes, before giving up, and decided to write something myself. So, here it is, Laura. I hope you like it, and I hope it fits with your layout!

Everyday Courage

This WordArt suggestion comes from Leslie. She found this quote after losing her 3rd daughter at birth a few years ago, and wanted to use it in a memorial book. I felt honored to help her with her project! Thanks for asking me :) I hope you like it.

Grandparents - Mischief

When I saw this quote, I instantly thought of my mom. Well, and my dad too. They're both so funny. Are your parents like this too? I don't know, maybe our family is just strange :)

This WordArt, and the next one (the serious one about grandparents) are from the suggestions of both Darci and Lindsay, who wanted something to go with their children and their grandparents. Hope these 2 WordArts help!

And, as an update, for those of you who are paying attention to such things (hehehe), my daughters test results came back yesterday, and it looks like the reason she was swelling was from a Post Strep Reactive Arthritis. She still has traces of it in her system. So, to totally knock out the strep, she need to go on a twice daily antibiotic, for the next YEAR! Wow, that's gonna be rough.

The good news is, that she feels fine. Not feeling sick in any way. She just thinks the antibiotics taste nasty. Can't blame you, Eme. They sure smell gross, and I'm not gonna taste them to confirm that! Hehehe.

I must say, my mom is kinda a freak! That's ok, cause so am I, and we get along SO WELL! Here she is, teaching my 2nd son how to drink water out of the washing machine with a STRAW! So funny. Yeah, when he comes home asking to do that, he's definitely getting a big fat NO! Ha! What happens at grandmas, should stay at grandmas!!! Thanks, Mom, for all you do! We love and miss you :) - Side note.... The quote on my layout is slightly different from the real quote above. See, I got distracted last night while designing, and forgot to finish the quote. I just stuck the author on there, and scrapped it. Oops. Today, when looking closer at it after posting it, I realized my mistake. I quickly went and fixed it, re-uploaded it to 4shared, and problem solved. Except for those 2 people who downloaded it. They got the shortened version. hehehe. Oops on me!

Grandparents Are

Here's a nice quote about grandparent. I have such fond memories about my grandparents. Growing up, I had my mom's parents, and my dad's mom, all in the same town. That was such a blessing (My dad's dad died the same year they got married). My grandfather passed away right before we moved to Chicago, so we got to be with him right up till the end. He was such a great guy! I miss you, Grandpa Lucky!

Anyway, I liked this quote, and thought it would be nice for those nice pictures of kids with their grandparent! Thanks.

Wings to Fly

Here's another WordArt for my Mom. And, I must say, I think it's kinda funny that she wants me to make certain WordArt, when she doesn't even Digiscrap. Hehehe. Thanks, Mom! Hopefully someone out there will like this too!

Ask for Help

So the other day when we were at the Dollar Tree (does everyone else love that store as much as me?), I found this neat book. It was a tale from Cech, I think, and the kids just loved it. About a guy called Brundibar. The 2 little kids had a mother who was sick, and the doctor said that milk would make her feel better. The took their pail, and went into the town.

Since they had no money, the milk man would not give them milk. They tried to sing for coins, but a mean street singer, named Brundibar, cashed them away. A friendly talking cat, and a friendly talking bird, helped them organize all the children in town to overpower (with song), the mean Brundibar. The townsfolk chased him out of town as he tried to steal the coins that the people were throwing at the children.

Anyway, it was a funny little story, and the kids really liked it. Near the end, this quote seemed to jump out at me, and I knew I had to WordArt it. Isn't it true, that they're are usually people who want to help, but knowing when (or getting the courage to) ask for help if the hardest part!

Worth It All

This WordArt is for Debbie, who's daughter is away at the University of Illinois (Go Illini). Debbie is making a graduation book for her, and wanted this quote (and the next) in WordArt form. Debbie's daughter has used these 2 quotes as her "away message" many times over the 4 years, and she thought it would be fitting to have them in her book. I thought so too!

I liked this quote a lot. Sometimes, we have to be willing to "go out on a limb" to get what we want. We don't grow by sitting in our comfort zone. We learn by doing, even if it seems scary. Anyway, very nice quote :)

Jump Down

Here's another WordArt for Debbie. I really liked this quote. So true in life, sometimes we have to improvise as we're "falling". Life IS on the job training, eh? Nice message, I thought.

Forgiveness Future

I thought this quote was really nice. And it's so true. When we forgive someone, it doesn't change what happened in the past, but it does change our outlook on the future. Anyway, I thought it was nice :)

I'm Sorry

Hi! If you've been here once already today, you'll notice that the I'm sorry below is a bit different. On suggestion from Denise, I've added a "kid" version of I'm sorry. She thought that the I'm sorry below was too elegant for her page. So, now there's the fancy version, and the kid version!

I haven't had time yet, but I thought that this would be a cute picture for my kids, when they fight and then make up. Especially for my 2 and 4 year old. I can just see the layout now.....

I Believe I Can Fly

Hi All! I thought I would let you all know that I am feeling much better today. Funny, how the day before you start your period, the whole world seems to fall apart. Today seems so much brighter! hehehehe. Attitude, and hormones, are everything!!!!

This WordArt is the request of Jodie, in Australia. She has pictures of her daughter on a wing, and thought that this would be perfect for a layout. I agree! This is the perfect WordArt for swings. I think I have a few pictures that would lend themselves to a nice layout with this WordArt too! I did two different versions, one with less of the song, and one with more.

What Lies Within

This WordArt is for Tropical Storm Jenessa, who is working on a wedding present for a friend, and thought this quote would be nice. I like this quote too. It really is what is in us that counts! I was pleased with how this WordArt looked when I finished it, and went back and read Jenessa's email, and realized that I had got the quote wrong, and had to start all over! But, it's fixed now, and all is well :) Hehehe. I guess I need to check closer next time :)

Life - What a Ride

This WordArt is for Cheri, and I must say, was the most difficult one I've done. It's because of the length. WordArt is best when it is short. Too many words "muck" up the flow of the piece. Well, as you can see, this one has a TON of words. So, Cheri, this is the best I could do with it. I hope it's ok.

As a side note, if you have a request, please either email me, or leave a comment on this blog. If you leave a request on my 4shared account, it may be a while before I find it. I do read all of your sweet comments, but not each WordArt each day. If you leave me a note here on this blog, I get emailed instantly. Thanks!

Interesting

I really did like this quote, and not just because it's from my favorite show, Doctor Who. Mad, meaning crazy, and yeah, we're a little bit crazy, are we not. hehehehe.

Attitude is Everything

This WordArt comes at the request of Sharon Kay, who says by summer time, she'll have 3 teenagers in her house. This is the thing she says to them all the time. Works for me. How true, that attitude is everything.

I think I need a slight attitude adjustment today :) Today has been a busy and stressful day, but we've managed to have fun most of it. With our house being on the market in Chicagoland for 8 months now (no nibbles) and us living in Ohio, finances are tight. Thankfully our church has been helping out. We went to get some help with food today, and it was 1 1/2 hour drive one way. We stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home to do the rest of our shopping, then stopped to vote (have you ever taken 5 kids to vote before? No, you should try it sometime :).

It doesn't sound like that much, but we left at 9am, and just got back. It's now 3pm. We have our Cub Scout Blue and Gold banquet tonight that I need to make food for (5:30pm), and I'm a little frazzled. My husband in in Arizona at a conference till Wednesday, and it's never fun to be home alone with 5 kids. (Needless to say, we didn't have school today - we'll do it on Saturday, I guess).

But looking back, the kids did very well on the trip. We have food. We have a place to live. My husband has a job. We have friends. We have family. We love each other. All is well. Really, attitude is everything!

4Shared issues

Well, it appears that 4shared was having issues with my 5 downloads yesterday and this morning. I contacted them, and after about 5 minutes of research, they said, "There's no problem. They're downloading just fine". So, I went to check, and sure enough, there was no problem. They were downloading just fine. But, the 5 minutes before they did whatever they did on the computer on their end, it sure wasn't working just fine. Anyway, whatever they "didnt" do, seems to have worked. Sorry about that. You all probably know more about the inner workings of 4shared than I do, since I've only been doing this for a month!

Thanks for your patience.

Hay Ride

This WordArt if for Rita. She wanted a WordArt to go with hay ride pictures, and couldn't find anything out there. Well, I looked too, and couldn't find a quote about hay rides to save my life. Really, I couldn't find anything. So, I made one up myself. Hopefully it's not too silly. I thought it turned out pretty nice.

This was taken in July of 2006, when we were at Camp Reneker (Camp Owassipe) in Michigan. We really did have a lot of fun at Family Camp (Boy Scouts of America). Pretend to Work

So the obvious application for this WordArt would be at your work job, but I really did think of several others. Kids doing chores, Mom's doing "mom" stuff, really, anything we "avoid" doing. Hope you can use it :)

ADD and ADHD

Sunday Bonus! OK, not really. It's just a slight variation of a WordArt that I've already done. A few of your requested WordArt for your children with ADHD or ADD. I retooled the "Autism is only a part of ME" WordArt to reflect the ADHD and ADD. Hope you enjoy!!!

They Love Us

As a side note, if you'd like to sign up for my newsletter and be informed when I post new WordArt, look for it on the right hand side of my blog. There's a spot to enter your email address. Thanks guys!

I thought this one turned out pretty nice. I like how the "so fresh from God" is ghosted, like our memory of being from God. As a note, it works best if put against lighter paper. I tried a layout with it on darker paper, and the "so fresh from God" all but disappeared.

Special Joy

Looking over my 4shared account, I noticed that quotes about babies were "hot items". So, I decided to do a few more. It seems many of you like these, so enjoy! And its true. Don't babies add a little extra joy to our lives, even if they're not our own!

Not To Be Pregnant

Having been pregnant a total of 7 times and having a total of 5 kids, I know this one to be true. Don't get me wrong. I love to be pregnant. I had relatively easy pregnancies, and natural childbirth 5 times (little demerol the first time around, but that all). Not too much morning sickness, pretty healthy. But, that last month is BRUTAL. And the more times you do it, the longer that last month gets. I swear, the kid #5, I started to get "last-month-itis" at 7 months pregnant. Oh well. My pregnant days are over. sob. sob. But I sure do love my kids :)

Days Attack Me

How funny is this! Sometimes I do feel overwhelmed. Stay at home mom, homeschooler, husband is in the bishopric (lds friends will know how hectic this is), daily WordArt, housework, Cub Scout committee chair, selling a house in Chicago while living in Ohio. The list just keeps going on and on. But I do try and take it one day at a time. Don't dwell on the negative, but think of the positive. But like everyone else, sometimes "several days attack me at once!"
