Sunset Dreams

I just love sunsets. I can remember watching the sun set over the Pacific ocean on the Oregon Coast growing up, over the bay in Alaska, over the corn fields of Illinois, behind the pine trees of North Carolina, or behind the tall buildings from the view of Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. Anywhere in the country, the sunset is beautiful. All different, but all inspire you to "dream".

This layout is from Rita Fisher of North Dakota. Her daughter took this picture of the sunset over a lake in Minnesota. Isn't it fantastic! Great job!

UPDATE

There was a little problem with this file this morning, but it's all better now. Apparently, it was linking to a different WordArt. So, if you downloaded it before 3:45 pm (EST), you got the wrong WordArt. Sorry for the confusion, but it's all better now :)

I thought this quote was hilarious! My kids know that they'd better watch out, or mom will "get" them on film, and who knows what will end up on the blog. So funny!

Photograph Story

I liked this qoute, especially because my family LOVES pictures so much. My mom is never complete without her camera, and it seems I'm talking after her! My kids, to some extent, run when they see me with my camera, knowing they'll end up on my blog. Silly kids. I do love pictures, though, because it captures my precious children in the moment, and I can go back to see how cute they were!

I just LOVE this picture of Jimmy. This was taken at a Civil War Living History event we participated in at the Joliet Library - Black Road Branch. It was a cold day in April, and I thought we were going to free to death! Jimmy was taking a nap in the pup tent with the wool blanket, and all his reenacting clothes (many many layers), and was still shiverning. We left Captain America behind in the afternoon, and headed for home. Too cold for us :)

This picture was is of Jimmy as he's waking up from his nap in the tent. Isn't he precious!

Time Stands Still

This quote was sent to me from my sister, Madi. I thought it was a nice though, so I made a WordArt for it. I sent it to my sister, and she made this wonderful page!

Popcorn Popping

I always liked this children's song. It is so fun to see the little kids with their hands popping like popcorn. But, I thought that it was a nice WordArt to use with our spring pictures. Of course, the popcorn in the song refers to the blossoms on the trees, which it kind of looks like.

Here in Ohio, winter is still very much upon us, but I seem to remember a nice spring picture from my sister in Utah last year, with a tree bursting with blossoms. I'll see if I can find and scrap it for today :)

We Love We Become

I really do like this quote. How true it is. There's nothing like the love of a parent for their child!

Click on the image below to download, and leave a quick note if you like my work.

Right Step

Sometimes, as a parent, we DO want to be with our kids every step of the way. To make sure that they always do the right thing. But then, what would be the point of that. How can we teach them to be good people if we don't give them a chance to prove themselves. All we can do is teach them the right way when they're young, and trust that they'll do what they should when they are big. I sure hope I'm doing enough for them, and they'll turn out ok. Isn't that every parents fear. They they'll mess up their kids :)

You know, I should have just went to bed last night. My layouts keep getting worse and worse. Oh well. You get the idea. Here's my sweet Jacob, my oldest. When we first moved to Ohio, we had the kids in public school. They rode the bus 1 1/2 hours to school, and 1 1/2 hours home from school. It took 20 minutes to get to the bus stop. They were gone from the house from 6:05am to 4:00 pm. Way too long of a day for kids. And poor Jacob was having a hard time fitting in. He'd been the new kid at 2 different schools in 4 years time. That's so hard. He seems to be doing much better at home :)

Peace and Quiet

Ain't that the truth! OK, so it's not really, but it sure feels like that sometimes. Does that make me a bad parent, when sometimes I "pretend" I can't hear my kids fighting, or being naughty, or making a mess. It's almost like, if I pretend it's not happing, it won't really be. Good think I don't do that all the time, or we'd have total anarchy!

When we moved to Chicago, and were so far away from family (my parents in Oregon, husbands in North Carolina), we were "adopted" by another family in our church. Joy Simco was so like a grandma to my kids the 3 years we were there. We sure don't miss Chicago, but we dearly miss you, Joy!

Maureen is Joy's oldest daughter. She and Jason were married this past Christmas, in the Salt Lake City Temple, I think. Congratulations, you guys!

Love is a Promise

I made this WordArt for "Amanda, David, and Isabel". What a nice sentiment it is! Hope you all like it!

Sorry there's no layout with it. I ran out of time. I'm even posting these early today. My 6 year old daughter has an appointment in Columbus OH (1 1/2 hours away - IN THE SNOW) at Children's Hospital in the Rhuemetology (yes, I can't spell it!) department. Last week, she had her knuckles and feet swell and her joints were sore. The ER wanted her to go to the specialist to get it check out. Of course, now she's fine. We'll see what they say :)

Happily Ever After

This WordArt is for Rita Fisher who requested an anniversary WordArt. I looked for a good quote, but couldn't really find anything that had the word anniversary that I thought would make a good WordArt. But, this speaks to anniversary, and I think it could make a really cute page for it!

Just so you know, my husband was less than thrilled with these pictures of himself. Personally, I thought they were hilarious! He's not one of those guys who spends every waking moment at games, but he does like the occasional round of Battlefield or Americas Army...... I do WordArt, he blows things up. Comparative, I guess.

Masquerading

How funny is this one! Even funnier is that it SO describes me! And my mom. And my kids. Wow, we must all be one weird family!

You would thing that I posed for these pictures, just to make a page. Don't be fooled by appearances. I've had these pics for a while now. Yep, I like to make faces, and if I take a picture of myself making a face, then I can see it. Hmmm. I guess that would work in a mirror too. I guess I'm just strange! But hey, I make myself smile :)

Ha! I made both of these all by myself. I even filled the background color. Aren't I smart :)

Danced in the Rain

Being a Native Oregonian at heart, this quote is wonderful. I personally love the rain. Sure, it's wet and kind of a drag sometimes, but have you ever played in the rain? It's so much fun. I remember one time, when I was in high school, decorating for a big dance with my friends. My mom was late picking us up, and, of course (it was the Oregon Coast, after all) raining. We decided to go puddle jumping in the parking lot. We got so wet, but had the absolute BEST time!

A Friend

You know, when I first started this particular WordArt, it looked awful. I almost scrapped the whole thing. It's amazing how just one small tweek of the font changes something from bland into grand! I really like the finished product! Hope you do too.

Daughters

This WordArt comes at the request of Debbie, the mother of a 17 year old daughter who'll be graduating this summer. She's putting together a book for her, and wanted to include this verse. She wanted to know if I could make it beautiful. Well, here's my best try. I don't know. Do you think it's beautiful?

I've included 2 different versions of the verse. One if from the verse sent to my by Debbie, and the second is from the King James Bible. I figured I'd make them both, and you all could decided which you liked more.

When I was about 14, I found a wonderful family to babysit for. They had 6 kids, and he was the local vet. It was terrific pay, but a lot of work. Did I mention the 6 kids! All close in age, with a set of twin girls. Jenny was just a toddler when I started babysitting for them. Well, she's all grown up now, and was married last Christmas! Now that makes me feel old. Congrats, Jenny :)

I thought this verse would make a wonderful addition to wedding photos!

Here's a note from Debbie, who requested this WordArt:

Hi Bethany,

I can't thank you enough for the beautiful and elegant word art that you did with the Proverbs verse--you're simply AWESOME!!!

Attached is a page I made using your word art...I also, read some of the comments that were made, and I agree with "Lisa" it IS a parent's blessing to be able to say this! Again, thank you.

Debbie

(I'm new at scrapbooking (just about two months) so, the paper is from Creative Memories and the pictures are of my daughter, Krizia (pronounced Kreet-zia--sort of the sound of "pizzia.")
