Greatest Love

I had fun this afternoon at my friend Maren's house. We started up a blog for her. I had fun making it pretty :) I found an AWESOME TUT on how to customize your blog, and helped her make hers pretty. What do ya think? Click HERE to see her blog. She hasn't put much on it yet, but it sure looks nice - ha!

I bought my tickets yesterday for my hubby to come home for X-Mas! I'm SO excited. We found some really good deals. $488 from Birmingham AL to Eugene OR. Roundtrip. That's not too bad. And then for me to fly out for his graduation, and the ball. (Did I tell you I'm going to the BALL - I need to put it on a take a pic) It was only $375 ish. Now, how to pay for it all - LOL! Come on girls, buy some WordArt, and finance my trip - LMBO!!!!!

Wow, this one turned out really pretty :) I almost didn't give it away, but I was too tired to design anything else for ya - ha! Aren't you glad that I like you guys! This request is from Linda. Click on the image below to go to my 4shared account to download the PNG file, and leave some love if you like my work :) Thanks, girls!

Unique Creativity

We went to a local Pumpkin give away yesterday. Wow! I think the whole town was there! There were bags of candy for the kids, games where they could earn more candy, food (pizza, soda, hot dogs - the line was WAY too long, so we skipped that one), then free pumpkins for kids under 18. What a great idea. Besides the HUGE crowd, it was pretty fun!

Here's Jimmy and I, waiting for our pumpkin - Joe and Tom are on the right. Check out that scrowl on Jimmy's face - ha!

And here I am, carrying Jim and Joe's pumpkin. Looks like I have giant, um, yeah, pumpkins - ha! Tom's in the background.

Tom and his pumpkin - what a silly pose :)

Check out that crowd!

Jacob on the right, and baby Austin (my mom's sisters sons son) on the left.

Eme waiting in line to play a game.

The kids all saw a TON of their friends there. Here's Eme posing with a few.

Thanks so much to Laruen for this request. I think it turned out pretty cool! Maybe not my typical WordArt, but I think I like it :) Click on the image below to go to my 4shared account to download the PNG file, and leave some love if you like my work.

Bike Ride

So my DVD collection has been bothering me lately. Since we're staying at my parents house, and we really don't have our own space, there wasn't really anywhere for us to keep our DVD's. I did my best with my limited resources, and here's what I've been working with. Check out that poor storage bin on the bottom - LOL! It was a big mess. Well, today, I took matters into my own hands.
Check out this sweet shelf that I build. Well, it was a kit in a box, but I used a hammer, and screw driver, and saw, and such. That shelf on the top didn't come in the box, so I bought a piece of shelving, and cut it to length. Then, I drilled new holes, and used 2 screws and some wadded up cardboard for the little peg things (remember the making due with limited resources - LMBO!). What do ya think? Not too shabby, eh? And, I alphabetized them. I LOVE to sort things - does that make me strange - hehehe.

I had fun last night working on our Wards (church) Halloween Party invitation/flyer/posters. Our bishops name is Wally, so we decided to have our theme be "Wally Wonka's Amazing Carnival". Clever, eh? My mom came up with it :) We're doing a little carnival, with fun games, prizes, candy, cake, corn dogs, and a family dance. I'm pretty excited. Check out the logo I came up with, and our flyer. We're even doing watterbottle labels. We're so creative - LOL!

Aren't those cute? I had fun making those up last night - I hope the Activities Committee likes them :)

Can I just say right now how AWESOME my CT is! I sent out my new WordArt packs to them early, and thy made up some KILLER layouts to show off my new stuff! How cool is that! These girls are truly amazing :) Thanks so much, you guys! So, here are my 4 new WordArt packs, and a layout to go with each pack :)

One Moment

So, my Aunt Sue, my daughter Emeline, and my son Jim, and I went to Portland yesterday. It was a really good trip. My mom let us borrow her car (it gets MUCH better gas mileage than my suburban (about 11-12 mpg), so THANKS MOM!!! It drives really well, for a small SUV :) I still LOVE my surburban, but her car was a good drive :)

I didn't know how long it would take to get there, so we left 4 hours early (Portland is about 3 1/2 hours away). Well, it only takes about 3 hours to get there. We were an hour early. But, they got us in, so we were done only 5 minutes after our appointment time - can't beat that!

Back in February, Eme had Strep. We went to the Dr to make sure, and then get some antibiotics. A few days after her 10 day course, I noticed that her hands and feet were swollen, and she said that the joints were painful. She has these daintly girl hands, and they looked like "Jacob" (my 11 year old) hands - LOL! I took her to urgent care that evening, since I'd never had a kid with symptoms like that. After checking her out, they thought that she might have some kind of arthritis.

They referred her to Childrens Hospital in Columbus OH, to a Pediatric Rhumetologist. We went up there, and they took blood samples, and did an EKG. We found out that she had Post Strep Reactive Arthritis. Apparently, sometimes after a person has strep, the body will have arthritis like symptoms after the strep is cleared up. She only had the symptoms for a few days, then they cleared up.

The doctors say that after a Post Strep Reactive Arthritis case, the best course is to treat with antibiotics for a year. It may help prevent the patient from getting worse problems with strep, affecting the heart. Rhumetic fever, or something like that. Anyway, she's on antibiotics for a year. She's 1/2 way through that now.

Since we moved from Ohio, she couldn't go back to Columbus for the 6 month follow up appointment. We got a new doctor in Portland for her to see. The Doctor was really good. I liked him - very personable and knowledgeable. He said that the jury was still out on wether to treat P.S.R.A with a course of antibiotics for a year, but it was still probably best to be safe than sorry. He said that we didn't need to come back again, though. Eme was fine, and perfectly healthy. We just stop taking the antibiotics in February. So, that's where we stand.

We drove 7 hours for a 30 mintue doctor appointment. Oh the things we do for our precious little ones :)

Ha! Remember last week, when I tried to give this away, and it didn't work? Well, it's up this week, and it's all good to go :) LOL! Click HERE to go to scraporchard to download the zip file, and don't forget, you need to be logged into the gallery to get the file :) Thanks!

Champion

Well, today I'm off to Portland (again) for my daughters follow-up visit at the Rhumetology department at a Children's Hospital. 6 months ago, we found out that she had Post Strep Reactive Arthritis, after a spell with Strep Throat. Long story short, she's on antibiotics for a year so that the strep doesn't come back and hurt her heart. We moved from Ohio, so we need a different doctor for this, and the closest one is 3 1/2 hours away in the big city. We're making our trek up there today. Wish us luck :) (she should be fine - no problems in the 6 months she's been on the antibiotics)

And, guess what? It's collab time again :) Here's another GREAT kit from Joy (Share Joy). Isn't it FABULOUS!!!

I worked up 2 WordArts, one for her, and one for me. You can get the Champion WordArt from my blog. Just click HERE to get it :)

And, you can get the Children WordArt from Joy's blog. Click HERE to go to her blog :)

Music is Feeling

Wow, you guys! What a crazy Sunday. It started off with my Aunt calling before church, saying that my blog was looking wanky. I went and checked it ou, and yep, it was pretty wanky! I guess that I uploaded too many things to photobucket, and I exceeded my whatever. So, it was "broken". I didn't have time to fix it before church, so that's why it was weird for so long. But, it's all fixed now :) I decided to make it look halloween/fall ish. I just LOVE Halloween. What could be better than a Holiday where you get to dress up and eat chocolate - LOL!

My weekend was FABULOUS, I just have to say :) You can see pics from the trip HERE at my mom's blog. Leave her a note, if you visit, and tell her I said to stop by and say hi :) hehehehehe. Anyway, it was a ton of fun. I'm really glad that I got to go and play :)

My kids were really excited to see me when I got back home. I think they missed me - LOL! I missed them too :) I had fun hanging out with them all day Sunday. I sure like my kids :) Even when they're naughty - LOL!

This WordArt request is from Amanda. She pointed out to me that my blog is lacking in Music WordArt. And, since music has always been such a big part of my life, I couldn't let that happen :) I really liked this quote, and hope that you guys will too :)

Lift Where You Stand

Well, it's Sunday, and I should be home from my weekend (pre-publishing - Thursday night, remember) I sure hope I had a great time. I'm thinking that I had SO much fun, that I haven't had a chance to check my email yet, or make a freebie, so I'm making it ahead of time. Because I think I'm gonna have THAT much fun - LMBO!

This WordArt request comes from Cynthia. I really liked this quote, and was glad that she sent it to me. I thought that it made a neat WordArt :) Click on the image below to go to my 4shared account to download the PNG file, and leave some love if you like my work. Thanks!
