Leap Fly

Well, yesterday was a full day. Not quite the day I had planned, but it was good, none the less. We got a note from Thomas' teacher (he's 3rd grade) the night before, saying that she wanted to talk to us, because he's been crying in class every day this past week. News to us! So, from 8-8:30, we went in to have a little conference with her. We think was it is, is he's having a tough time adjusting to the new school. He really liked his old school, and his friends, and is tired of making new ones. I hear ya, kid. It's tough to move all the time :(

She gave us a few things to do to help him, and we're trying to get him to interact more with the other kids, and make some friends. Weird, because Tom has always been one of my most outgoing, friendly, social kids. Funny how they can switch roles SO fast. Poor Tom.

After that visit, Jimmy and I decided to go on post with Captain America. He had his check in meeting at 9am, but once we got there, found out that the Sgt in charge woudln't be there till 10:30. SOOOO, Captain America had to wait for the Sgt with all the other guys, and Jimmy and I went around post. We went to the PX and the exchange, where they were having a HUGE clearance sale. I found a new pair of jeans for Eme for 12.50, but didn't really want to pay that much for them. I know, I'm cheap.

We decided to go to the thrift store, and look there. I found Eme a new pair of capri jeans and regular jeans, one for 5.00 and one for 3.00. Cheaper! I knew I could find a better deal :) I found a pair of pants for myself, but later discovered that they were a size 6, not a size 9. Nice, eh? No way I'm fitting into those pants! They were mis-labled on the thrift store tag. Wonder if they'll take them back for an exchange? Worth a try, I guess. I also got some wool skirts, that I can cut up for Civil War pants for the little boys.

Did I tell you that there's a Civil War reenactment coming up at the end of the month near Houston that Captain America's going to? And that I refused to travel 12 hours one way to go to it? Well, I've almost changed my mind, and decided that maybe I do want to go :) hehehe. So glad that I'm female, and that changing my mind is acceptable :) We're gonna split the travel into 2 days, so it should be too bad. Anyway, the wool skirts were only 2 and 3 dollars, and I can get at least a pair of pants out of them each. Maybe a vest too! Now, I just need to find some sewing time - ha!

So, back to the thrift store. I found a wooden CARS game. It had checkers, dominos, and bingo, all in a nice wood case. Jimmy was SO excited. It was a good day at the thrift shop :)

We went back to pick up Captain America afterwords, and by then it was 11ish. We went out to lunch, then back on post to register his new pistol. He had a safety breifing at 12:45 (where they tell the guys to no do anything dumb over the weekend), and after that, we decided to go check out the Officers club. They have a pool there, and I guess that if you're a member, you can get free swimming.

As we were pulling into the parking lot, my phone started ringing and making noises, and I realized that it was reminding me that I had a primary presidency (church youth leaders ages 3-11) meeting at 1pm. Too bad the phone didn't tell me that 1/2 an hour earlier - LOL!

So, I had Captain America drive me there (McDonalds with a playland - LOL), and I was just a little late :) JImmy had fun playing, and we got some things worked out for Primary. The primary president, Kristie, dropped me off at my house at about 3:30.

Captain America had another meeting from 3-5, so the kids and I hung out at home till he got home. At 6:30, Captain America and I left for our date night. We were finally getting to go and see "Twilight" at the dollar movie theater. Jacob did GREAT babysitting, and the movie was fun. I can't wait for it to come out on video :)

It was a good, but long day. I'm already on page 114 of the 4th Twilight book, and I didn't really even have that much time to read yesterday. I'll be glad and sad when I'm done. Glad, because I can start having a real life again (ha!). But sad, because, as with any really great story, I never want it to end. I want to know what happens after the ending. Do you do that too?

This WordArt request comes from Katy, kind of - ha! She wanted something for gymnastics. Well, since I'm not into gymnastics, and don't know anyone who is, I don't really have any good sayings for a gymnastic WordArt. See my problem. I did find this quote from a gymnastic forum -does that count?? LMBO!! So, sorry Katy, if it's not what you had in mind, but it's the best I could come up with :) Click on the links below to go to my accounts to download the WordArt, and leave some love if you like my work :)

Changes the World

Another busy day has come and gone - hehehe. My alarm went off this morning, so I was able to get up on time - hehehe. I have a digital watch that I set to go off at 7am, but if my hand is under my pillow, I don't hear it. And, since I sleep on my tummy, with my arms under my pillow, changes are good that I'm not gonna be hearing the alarm. Luckily, Captain America set the real alarm for me, so I was able to get up on time.

I got the kids off to bed, and got Jimmy set up with breakfast, and read my book. Ha! We're you expecting something more? I sat on the couch and read while he watched Scooby Doo. We read, and watched, and talked, and played. It was a nice morning.

After lunch, I got ready for my Doctors appointment. Yeah, that was yesterday. Captain America took my truck to the mechanic today (yeah, having issues again), so I had his Saturn. He was supposed to be home in time to watch Jimmy. I got a call from him saying that I needed to come to the car place, and drop Jimmy off, then go to my appointment.

I LOVE Captain America's car, because it's cute and little and sporty. BUT, it's a stick shift. I can drive a stick (I got my license on a stick), but it's not my favorite thing. I overthink it when I'm stopped at a light, and panic every time, thinking I'm gonna kill it. I do GREAT on straight stretches, but when I'm stopped on a slope (or heaven forbid a HILL), I really start sweating. Well, I just missed the light today, and was stuck at a sharp rise. I could seriously feel my heart beating out of my chest (I felt like Bella - ha! I"m reading too much again!). But, I only rolled back a tiny bit, and didn't kill it.

I was so worried that my blood pressure would be high - I worked on calming myself down - hehehe. When I was 2 exits from where I was going, Captain America called and said he was done. I turned around, and met him on Post. He took Jimmy, and went home, and I continuted to my Well Woman's visit. I was all prepared with my book, ready to read while I waited forever to get in, but they were speedy. I didn't have to wait more then 5 minutes. Really!

I just hate Well Woman visits. And it's not like I'm not used doctors . I've had 5 children. I had a doctor, 2 midwifes, then 2 more doctors. Boy doctors and girl doctors. I even had a paramedic in training observe birth #5 in order to get certified. I didn't care at that point - ha!

So, I'm on the table, and the doctor is there (male), and his female assistant, and just as he's starting the exam, my cell phone starts ringing. And it keeps going and going and going. Man, talk about stressful. I'll remember to shut it off next time I have to do this. Next year. Thank goodness! But, it's over, and I did my yearly duty, and got checked out. Have you scheduled yours???? You really should, you know :)

I stopped by the commisary on the way home, and picked up some groceries. Jimmy's decided that frozen peas (right out of the bag) are his new favorite snack. What's up with that? Ha! I HATE peas, and I don't think anyone else in the family like peas. Not that I'm complaining. Silly kid :)

I talked with my bestest girl friend on the way home from the doctor/store, and sat in the driveway for about 15 minutes when I finally got home, enjoying my "kid free" time. Maren, girl, I miss ya :) Come visit me soon!!! :)

I finished off Book 3 of the Twilight series last night, and started on #4. Good thing she only wrote 4. I'd be in serious trouble with my family - LOL!

And, just for my mom, I have a few pictures for ya :) Here's the kid's school - isn't it nice:) Brand new :)

And this is one of the army gates. Did you know that you have to stop and show your ID to get in? If you come to visit, bring your ID - hehehehe.

Yeah, I think he inherited him "make faces at the camera" from his mom - LMBO!!!

Oh yeah, and Captain America brought home his BOLC III gear today. Battle Armor and such. We all dressed up in it, and had a GRAND time - it was a LOT heavier than I anticipated :)

Poor Jimmy wasn't expecting it - he was SO SO SO excited to put it on, and was SO SO SO upset when it was on him. He started crying, and after it was taken off, ran to his room and stayed in there for about 10 minutes. He's a strange little guy - poor thing :)

And here's a picture of Captain America, in full gear, with is new gun. He's SO proud of it. Nice one, honey (it's unloaded, and the clip is AWAY from the gun - so don't worry :)

Ha! I TOTALLY remembered to post my new stuff this week - you'd think I was on top of it, or something. Of course, you'd be very wrong - LMBO! Click HERE to go to my store to check out all my FAB products (hehehe). And remember, my stuff is on sale the first week it's released, for 20% off (makes a WordArt pack $2.00 instead of $2.50)

This one's made my Diana, on my CT - didn't she do a FABULOUS job!!! Thanks, girl!

And this one is by Minna, also on my CT. She totally ROCKS!!! Love your stuff, girl!
As I sat on my couch last night and contemplated what to make for a WordArt for today, I looked at my favorite scrapbooking quote site, and found this one. I just LOVED it, so I made this up for you guys. I would have LOVED to put it in a new WordArt pack, but to sell my WordArts, the quotes need to be from someone who's been dead for at least 40-50 years. So, this quote is out for selling ,but lucky you! You get it here for free :)

Angel Wings

Hi all! Well, Jacob's appointment went well this morning. It turns out, that running and jumping have been irritating the growth plates in his feet. Who knew? So, he got some inserts, and a note to be excused from PE (only the running and jumping part) for 2 months. Let me tell you, that was one happy kid - LMBO!

After I dropped him off at school, Jimmy and I headed off to the park to meet up with some girls from church. A lot of the girls from church regularly go on Wednesdays. So, I decided to give it a try. We had a TON of fun. Nice ladies, and Jimmy had a good time playing too :) I'm definitely working that one into my weekly routine :) Wednesday am at the park. Check.

We cut our park trip a bit short, when the rain drops started. Yep, it started pouring. Only lasted for about 20 minutes though. I think it was like the 2nd or 3rd time it's rained in the month and a half I've been here - hehehe. But, I hear it rains a lot in July/Aug.

Jimmy and I went back home, and about 15 minutes later, the FedEx man delivered my phone. Woohoo!!! I charged it, and tried to activate it, but pushed the wrong button, and ended up messing something up. It said that I had to call from a land line or other phone to re-activiate it. Oops. I had to wait for Captain America to get home. But, I played around with it for a few minutes, and it seemed pretty cool. It'll take a little getting used to, but I think I'm up for it.

Oh yeah, before I tried to activate it, Captain America called, and said that he'd got his new hand gun, but couldn't bring it on Post. He had to meet with his group for check-in in 24 minutes, and coudln't make it back home and back to Post in time. SO, Jimmy and I loaded up on the truck, and drove up for the hand off. He ended up just taking my truck, and I took his Saturn, 'cause the trucks been making some funny noises, and he was gonna have them look at it.

Jimmy and I came back home, and did a little laundry, and I read a little bit more in my book. I'm on book 3 now. Wow, it's such a great series (Twilight, by Stephanie Meyer). I chatted on Yahoo with an online friend (hi Yolanda!!!), and the kids were home. Captain America was home shortly after that. We all got a LENGHTY gun lesson, and got to hold it, and see how it works. We activated my phone, and went about the day.

Kids did homework, did chores, and Jake and Captain America got ready for scouts. Tom's scout leaders' wife just had a baby, so his meetings were cancelled. I put the little kids to bed, and designed for a while. I managed to make 3 more WordArt packs (to add to the 2 I'd made on Sunday) for Wednesday's product cut-off deadline, and watched a bit of TV with Captain America (once he got back from Scouts).

We saw that silly "filet of fish" commercial 3 times within a 30 minute period. Now I'm gonna have it stuck in my head all day - LMBO! Creepy, but funny - LOL!

Today, I get to "try" and go to the doctor again. Third times a charm, eh? We'll see if it goes as planned - hehehe. Hopefully the doctor isn't sick, and I know that "Johnny" is gone, so all should be good to go. Dumb Well Woman visit. I REALLY don't want to go, but know that it's important. Sigh. At least it's an hour, kid free - ha! The things we do for a "kid free" hour. ha!

OK, as a little preview of one of my New WordArt packs coming out Friday (Shapes Travel WordArt Pack), I'm giving you guys a CUTE pair of wings. Aren't these cute!!! I tried to use the, but decided that I kinda suck at scrapbooking - LOL! That's why I have a CT, right? So I don't have to work on getting better - hehehe. Anyway, here's the wings. Click on the links below to download the PNG file, and leaves some love if you like my work (and let me know if you like the wings :)

Make It Better

So, I finished off New Moon yesterday. Fabulous! Couldn't put it down. Jimmy and I sat on the couch and watched Scooby Doo all morning long (as I read). It was a good time :) In the afternoon, after the kids got back from school, we tried to go see Twilight at the dollar theater, but go there 25 minutes after showtime, so saw Bedtime Stories instead. It was a better family/kid movie anyway. The kids enjoyed it. I was still a bit bummed that we didn't get to see Twilight. I've seen it before, but I wanted Captain America to see it, so he could know what I'm talking about when I go ON and ON about Edward, and Jacob, and Bella, and Forks, and vampires, and werewolves. Sigh. Maren, I miss you, my buddy! We could talk Twilight together :) hehehe.

Well, I was supposed to have my Well Woman exam yesterday, but the Doctors office called saying the Doctor called in sick. Dang. This is the 2nd time I've tried, but it's fallen through. Is someone trying to tell me something ??? LOL! It's rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Sigh. Jacob has his appointment today at 9. Podiatrist. I'll let ya know what's up with his feet. They just look kinda big to me. He wears a size 9 or 10 in mens, and he's only 11. Dang! He'll probably need inserts in his shoes, and a new pair of shoes. Kids are expensive, aren't they!

Captain America has been looking into buying a handgun. He wants to be able to go to the range here on post and shoot. Not really for home protection (our shotgun will take care of any intruders - LOL), but mostly for recreational range shooting. He's getting that with his spendable portion of the tax return (so bad guys - stay away from our house, we're (very) armed and dangerous! - and yes, we keep the guns unloaded and the ammo in a separate room, and have had numerous gun talks with the kids. They know their gun safety - I think because the guns haven't been a "taboo", they're not too interested in sneaking in and playing with them.....), and I'm getting a new cell phone with my part. Yep, I finally decided what I wanted. It wasn't totally free, like I usually pick. You know, there's a list of free, then partially free, then pay through the teeth. This is a partially free one. It's the Samsung Glyde. So, if any of you have it and love it, let me know! And if you have it and hate it, just keep that to yourself - LMBO! For my sake, pretend like you like it, just for me. I can't believe it took me almost 2 weeks to decide which silly phone I wanted. ha! Isn't it cool, though, how the keyboard slides out! That'll be handy for texting my hubby when he goes back to Georgia in a few weeks :)

And, now onto WordArt :)

Isn't this a FUN one! I have SO SO SO many pictures I could use this for - sigh. Kids are SO accident prone, it's not even funny. Jimmy came home from church with a big scratch over his eyebrow. Not sure when that happened. Maybe in the truck on the way home. He picked at it yesterday, and it was bleeding. Nice. My poor little guy :) PLUS, he decided he wanted an orange, and to use the pairing knife to cut it himself. So, he had a nice cut on his finger too. BUT, it was the first time that he's left a bandaid on for longer than 20 minutes. It actually stayed on all evening, and into the next day. My baby's growing up - LOL!

Head on over to the Orchard to pick up todays WordArt Wednesday, and feel free to join in the challenge, if ya want. It would be a good time. Let's see who has the worse battle wounds - LMBO! Click HERE to go to the orchard to pick up the WordArt :)

Iron Alpha

I've been having SO much fun reading the Twilight series again. Sorry, I'm a bit obsessive - ha! Didn't I blog about this yesterday - hehehe. Anyway, I finished up Twilight yesterday morning, and started on New Moon (that's the 2nd one, right?) in the afternoon. GREAT books. I just love 'em.

And, I even did real life stuff yesterday too, not just reading. hehehe. Captain America and Jimmy and I went to town. We went to Wal-Mart to buy some flag pole holders, so Captain America can properly display our flags on our house, and a few other essential items. I found 2 new shirts (essential, remember!).

We were gonna go to Verizon to check out phones (I know, still haven't picked one), but got a call from the, um, guy in charge of Captain Americas group (yeah, real great with the army terms, aren't I), saying that he and the others needed to come back in and help admisinter the Urine tests (drug screening) for the AIT guys (Advanced Individual Trainings). So, I dropped him off at the post (we were too far from home for him go back and get his car), and then hurried home. Jacob had a key, so he only had to babysit the kids for about 15 minutes.

We started last week trying to get into the habit of reading scriptures as a family when the kids get home from school. Well, guess what I found when Jimmy and I walked through the door. The kids, at the table, trying to read the scriptures. No joke. Sure, the little ones didn't want to do it, and Jacob was yelling at them, telling them to pay attention, but the point is that they were trying. Good job, Jacob! You're a GREAT example to me :) Love ya!!!

A friend from work dropped Captain America back by the house, so we didn't have to go back and pick him up. Thank goodness. It wasn't until after 7 that he got back home. That's a lot of Urine - LMBO!!! Glad it was him, and not me - eewh!

LIttle Jimmy (the 3 year old) has decided that saying "I'm sorry, Mommy" while flashing me the sweetest, most innocent little expression can get him in less trouble. Or so he thinks, anway. Today, while getting something from the chest freezer, I noticed brown stuff all over inside. I thought someone had opened up a packet of gravy mix and dumped it in. When I questioned the kids about it, Jimmy said "I'm sorry, Mommy I put dirt in the freezer. It was an accident".

Hmmm, I think we need to have a talk about what the word accident means. You "accidently" tip over your milk cup. You accidently knock a book off the shelf. You accidently bump into someone. But accidently throw dirt into the chest freezer? Um, no. That's the wrong word, kid. The I'm sorry works just fine, but not the "it was an accident". LMBO! But, I managed to keep from laughing where he could see me.

I think that'll be our cleaning project for today. Jimmy can learn how to "accidently" clean the freezer.

Hey girls! Didn't really feel like designing last, so I started to go through my stack of stuff and see what I had that I could give away - hehehehe. SOOOOO, remember that Alpha I used a few Sunday's ago?? Well, here it is for you all! It's really kinda cool. I just love the Iron look of it. Kinda fun, don't you think?

Click on the links below to go to my accounts to download the Alpha, and leave some love if you like my work. Thanks!

Oops, I meant to hit the "post options" button, to set this to go out at 7am, but I accidently hit the "publish post" button. So, it's going out early. Sigh. Oh well. hehehe.

Last Week's New Products

So, I know that it's important for me to post my new products, so that people can actually go and buy them, but I keep forgetting, for some reason - LMBO! It's a good thing that I'm not the primary bread winner in our family, or we'd be in serious trouble - hehehehe! So, here's last weeks "Fresh Fruit" at Scraporchard :)

Click HERE to go to my Scraporchard store :)

I thought these would be ADORABLE on T's for St. Patricks day.

St. Patrick is my homeboy - LMBO!!!

I made a layout with one of these, and I wasn't even pregnant - LOL!

I just love these "whispy" ones :)

Brackets are SO cool :)

Ha! I've got ideas planned for about 2 more Attitude packs - too funny :)

Let's Party

Wow, girls :) I did it again. I read my book ALL DAY LONG. hehehe. This is exactly why I don't read. Because I get SO caught up in the story, that I can't tear myself away from it. Well, All is a bit too extreme of a word. I went to church, and gave my talk, and it went well :)

I came home , and fed my family, and then proceeded to read for a LONG time - hehehe. I cooked dinner for my family, and washed some laundry, and did some dishes, and read a lot more. I put little kids to bed, and snuggled with the 3 year old for a while, and read some more. Now, I'm posting this blog post, and I really should go to bed (it's 11:41 on Sunday night), but I just wanna read a tiny bit more. Stephanie Meyers' Twilight is definitely one of my favorites. Sigh. Again, this is why I don't read regularly - hehehe.

Captain America was supposed to have a dentist appointment on Monday, but it's been rescheduled. I have an appointment on Tuesday for my rescheduled Well Woman visit, and Jacob has a podiatrist appointment on Wednesday. The girls from church go to the Park at 10:30, so hopefully I'm done with the foot doctor by then. Scouts on Wednesday night also. Captain America has Scouts Roundtable on Thursday night, and I have a Primary Presidency meeting at the McDonalds playland on Friday. Sigh. Life is sure busy. Keeps me on my toes.

And, I'm so proud to say that I've been hitting right on target with my diet. Today is the end of day 3. Woohoo!!! I was almost 156lbs when I weighed last week, and I was 151 on Sunday moorning. Amazing what eating what you are supposed to will do for ya. It just goes to show that I was eating WAY WAY WAY more than I should have. Remember the obsessive reading? Well, I do that with eating too - LMBO!

And, on to WordArt. Can you tell I'm loving spring? Sure, it's windy today, and has a 30% chance of rain (LMBO! That is a constant forcast for the Oregon coast!), the 50-70 degree weather is agreeing with my 100%!!!

Christ

Wow, it's really late as I'm blogging this. I had a totally unproductive day, but I'm not really too concerned. Everyone needs a super lazy Saturday every once in a while. I'm on day 2 of my diet, no cheating, and between that and the crazy altitude adjustment, it's kicking my butt. I literally, sat in my room all day long - ha! There's no food in my room, though, so I wasn't tempted to cheat on my diet - LOL. Sad, I know.

Captain America and the big kids worked on cleaning out the garage a bit today, though, so it wasn't a total waste of a day - hehehe. I read a bit in the Stephanie Meyers books again, and watched a movie online. I didn't do any designing, or anything productive. Ha! Next week will be better :)

So, while it's Sunday morning for you all, it's Saturday night for me. 12:38 am in fact. I guess that's Sunday morning for me too - LMBO! Captain America and I were asked to speak in church today, so I'm stressing a bit about that. I would almost rather take that tram ride then talk in front of a large group of people - ha! Almost. I'm speaking on Obedience, and Captain America's speaking on Faith. I'll let you know tomorrow how it went. :)

So, since it's Sunday, and I'm trying to go with the faithbooking theme for Sunday, here's a nice scripture for ya :) It's a WordArt requset from Ruth. Hope you like it, girl :) Click below to go to my accounts to download the PNG file, and as always, leave some love if you like my work.
