True Man

My husband gave me the suggestion to do this WordArt. He's a big Civil War History guy, and loves learning about Robert E. Lee. At first, I wasn't quite sure what it's application would be, then then I started thinking, wouldn't it be funny to see on a page with a husband doing a job that we asked them to do. Hehehehe. I'm so naughty! But anyway, I really liked the way that this turned out, visually. Doesn't it line up nicely!

Click on the image below to download, and leave some love if you like my WordArt. Thanks!

Bethany,

Every time I visit your blog, I am disturbed by the tone of your profile. Here's what bothers me:

"...5 kids. Yes, they're all mine. And they have the same Dad. And we had them AFTER we got married."

Why did you feel the need to make it sound so adversarial? I do like your wordart, so I felt I should let you know that you may be turning some people away.

Well, the profile comes from by personal blog. That's just who I am. I have lots of kids, and they are all from the same dad. You wouldn't believe how many people ask.

I've had my own personal blog now for about a year and a half, and use it to keep in contact with my friends and family all over the country. We don't live close to any of our family, so the blog is all I have.

I didn't mean it to offend anyone. I was just explaining who I am. I'm a happily married, stay at home mom who is "traditional", I guess you'd call it. We got married, then we had the kids. We just moved to a rural area from Chicago 6 months ago or so, and up there, it was very uncommon to see anyone with a large family. Most of the people we met had 1, maybe 2 kids. That was it.

So that's why my profile has what it has on there. It wasn't to be "in your face" about me or my family. It was just explaining to all those people, who over the years, wanted to know if all the kids were mine. Yep, and they're all my husbands too.

My WordArt I do as a hobby, and I don't get any money for it, so if people don't want to use it because they think I'm rude, then that's totally their choice. I wouldn't take something from someone if I didn't like what they stood for either. It's totally their call :)

Ok----I haven't fully searched your site, but do you have any WA for an "owie"? How do you spell that anyway? "Ouchie" Is that better. Hmmm, if you already have something like that maybe you could help me find it?

As for the kids thing--- I totally know where you are coming from. I have 4 kids and get asked with dropped jaws all the time, "Are they all yours?" And I, too, have even been asked, "Do they have the same dad!" I think your profile is just showing humor about it and I have to give you a high five.

I very much like your profile. If folks don't like it, than the issue is theirs. You have said nothing 'wrong' in it. Besides, it is your site to do as you wish.

I think your profile is not 'adversarial' at all, but one of 'pride'. It is a worthy accomplishment to be able to say those things. As Gene Autry used to say, 'It ain't bragging if you did it.'

Love you!

Just wanted to comment on your profile and a previous posting (Okay, so it's from a year ago :) ) and tell you that I loved your profile. I totally laughed out loud when I saw it (then forced my husband to listen while I read it to him ;) ).

Anyway. For what it's worth. :)

I agree! I laughed out loud and I also read it to my husband! You aren't adversarial at all. Ba humbug to her! I think you're funny and generous and honest. If you lose traffic to people like that, they'd probably never buy anything anyway. Thanks again for helping me make a father's day card!
