Let's Dance

So, Branching was today!!! HE GOT IT!!! He was so excited when he texted me and told me. He picked Air Defense Artillery (ADA). There were about 10 slots, and he got the 2nd slot. He was pretty pumped about it.

So, it looks like he needs to do BOLC II (basic officer leader course 2) and BOLC III. He said that the army is SO in need of 2nd Lieutenants, and that because of that, the trainings are all jammed full. So, he's not even gonna be able to start that training until summer of '09. So, it looks like after he's done with BOLC I (where he's at now - graduation in Jan '09), they'll send him (and us!!!!), to where BOLC III will eventually be. And where will that be, you ask?

Fort Bliss, Texas!!!! That's in El Paso!!! We're going to TEXAS!!! (well, I think we are - nothing is official until we're actually there, right?) I think that on the 28th of this month, we should be able to see what his orders will be. Then, sometime after the first of the year, we'll be PCS-ing to Texas!!! (PCS - Permanent Change of Station - what they call it when the Army moves you). So, that's our BIG news :) Yea for us!!!!

Oh yeah, and some more news. Did I tell you that we get to rent a cabin from Boy Scout camp for Christmas Break???? I'm SO excited to have a cabin for our little family :) It's got 2 bedrooms, 2 bathroom, and a HUGE common area. It will be SUCH a great vacation for us all!!! Thanks, Boy Scouts!!!

So, onto WordArt :) I made this Alpha from a TUT, but didn't really like it. But, I thought it worked in ths WordArt. So, here ya go! Click on the image below to go to my 4shared account to download the PNG file, and leave some love if you like my work.

I think the word art is adorable! And, congratulations on getting what he wanted -- that's fabulous!!

I'm from Texas -- don't know much about El Paso, though!

thank you! I have 2 dancers, so this will definitely get used! Enjoy your Christmas break cabin - will hubby get to be there? (Not from a military family, no clue about what happens after boot camp)

The word art is perfect for some pics of my kiddies dancing.

And yay for you and your fam. It must feel so good to know what's coming next! Congrats to your hubby for getting the job he wants.

Congrats on the station location! :) I was really hoping you'd get stuck here in Germany with me for a few years though! ;)

My baby sister is at the same base in Texas with her very own hero. You two should definitely meet up, she's having her first baby in May. I'm sure you can teach her a thing or two :)

Congrats to your hubby...Texas is HOT but then there's the winter where the 60s is cold... :-) I hope you love it. A family vacation sounds like just the ticket before your big move.

Thank you so much for the wonderful word art. Just had a surprise retirement party, so this word art is just what I need.

thanks for the word art. I have the silliest pictures of a friend of mine dancing. I also thought of - do a little dance, have a little fun, get down tonight. (I always loved KC and the Sunshine Band...lol.) Anyway would you consider doing that?

Mmmmm Texas.... I hear it's warm there! You missed the snow last week. We got a dusting of 8 inches! Can you hide me in your suitcase? LOL

Yes...never take the Army's word for where they are sending you till you are actually THERE. Seriously.

We were told Ft. Benning, GA. Then it was Ft. Stewart....just before hubs was done with his WOBC (Warrant Officer Basic Course), they informed us we were going to Ft. Gordon, GA.

And I have known a few people who were on their way somewhere, when they got "recalled" to their old post and sent somewhere entirely different. Never trust the Army.

You are going to LOVE El Paso!! I lived there for 22 years before moving to Germany 4 years ago. I actually met my husband while he was stationed at Ft. Bliss. It's so beautiful there and El Paso is such a great city to live in.

ADA, huh? I guess those years of playing Missile Command on the Atari payed off, eh? Hehe. Seriously though, that's pretty cool.

Hi-a feind referred me to your blog becasue I do a lot of tagging. I also happened to have been a military kid. One of the places we lived-yep, El Paso. Although he was Army, and we were at Fort Bliss. My father was involved in testing phase of the Titan/Atlas Missile program at White Sands AFB. Your hubby should knlw the historical ramifications. El Paso wasn't that hot. Not like southern TX which is much like where I am in FL (Clearwater). I attribute El Paso for my love of diverse foods and spicy, spicy stuff. Congrats to hubby.

Nice word art, btw :)

hugs....

Congrats! I really want to move to Texas someday. You will enjoy a lot more sunshine than you have on the west coast.
