Let's Do Lunch

First off, I just wanted to say "HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY" to my little sister, Maddie! I still remember when you were born. I was in the 4th or 5th grade (yeah, maybe I don't remember it so clearly), and I was SO excited to have a sister! I'm so glad that you and your girls came to stay with me for a month this past summer, and that we got a chance to hang. Love ya, sis!

Holy cow! Can you say LOOOONG day! hehe. I woke up at 6:35am, and hit the snooze. Then woke up at 6:45am, and hit the snooze again. hehe. I woke up at 6:50am on my own, and read my scriptures, said my prayers, and went out to help the kids get ready at 7am. Joe and Eme had both gotten up early and done the remainder of their homework (good job, guys!), so I just had to supervise breakfast and make sure they got out the door at 7:30am.

And no one else was awake. Captain America was still in the field, Jake and Jim were both sleeping, so I figured I might as well go back to bed. ha! I slept till around 8:30am, then got up for real. hehe. And I saw a text from Captain America saying that he was coming home! Yippee!!

He got home around 9am, and sat down and watched part of a movie with Jimmy and I. It was nice to just sit on the couch and relax and hang. I missed him :)

At 10am, he went to bed (cause he'd been working since 7am, the previous morning), and I showered and got ready for the day. Jake and I got Jimmy on the bus at 11am, and then we headed out to Walmart. Cause I had a few things to pick up. And I guess I just can't stay away from there.

Here's me on the way to Walmart. I totally headed out the wrong gate, thinking I was going to the Walmart close to our house, but realized it didn't have a fabric section, and that's part of what I wanted, so I had to course correct and find an alternative route to a different Walmart. hehe. It wasn't very direct, but it got me there :)

So we get to Walmart, and I let Jake go look at whatever he wants to look at, and I go to the fabrics. I got 1 yard each of white, orange, and yellow fabric. Eme and I were gonna make a wreath. I'll show ya pics later in the post :) I bought a pattern for an apron for me, too. Cause I still don't have one..... hehe. I have 3 different people making/sending me aprons, but, um, yeah, I'm still apron less. hehe.

Anyway, I couldn't find any fabric I liked at a price I liked (cause you all know how cheap I am), so I went and looked in the sheet section. And I found a twin flat sheet for $4, and I know I can get more than one apron out of that. So it was WAY cheaper than a yard of fabric for almost $5. Or I can make an apron and something else with the rest of the fabric. Either way, it was cheaper with the sheet. And the sheet was cute. All striped and junk. ha!

I bought some cream cheese for my cookies that I was gonna make when I got home, and some cheese for me, cause I was out. And a few other things. Not too many, though, cause I'd been to Walmart the day before, you know. hehe.

I caught up with Jake, and he wanted me to come and look at an Air Soft gun with him. Yeah, that was a purchase that he needed his dad for. And Jake wasn't too happy about that, but whatever. He's 13, and he's still a kid. And if I say that he needs his dad there to buy something like that, then I'm within my rights to say that. And he can just be upset with me. hehe.

We left Walmart, and headed to the Dollar Tree. Again. It was seriously a repeat of my yesterday, but with Jacob this time. hehe. I'd made him promise me that if he came with me that there was NO talking about video games. And he didn't, but it was a VERY quiet ride. hehe.

I got 2 wicker wreaths from the Dollar Tree, and some more candy corns. Cause they actually had candy corns there. And a couple other things. Food containers that would hold 1 dozen cookies perfectly. I should have got a few more - ha!

Jake was feeling better after the Dollar Tree, and he and I decided to stop across the street at Taco Cabana on the way home. It's a restaurant that Andrea and I used to go to ALL the time when we were hanging with Katy and Adela. I hadn't been there in AGES.

Jake got 2 bean and cheese burritos, and got a customizable Cabana bowl. I got the shell, and black beans, and salad mix, and beef, and pico de guillo (or however you spell that), and sour cream. It was quite tasty. I ended up eating 1/2 the bowl, and only a few bites of the beans. But I ate the rest, and it was yummy :) And Jake and I got a Diet Dr Pepper to share, since it was a fountain drink, and we could go back for refills. Gotta love it when they have Diet Dr Pepper!

So we headed home, and I started to work on my projects. I had bananas to use up, and some crafts to do. And I was gonna be productive. I was NOT gonna go nap like I wanted to. hehe.

I found a good recipe online for Banana Oatmeal Chocolate chip cookies. Oh yeah, it looked good :) And here's all the "Bling" that I had to shed in order to cook. And I'm just saying, but next time I craft/cook, I'm TOTALLY not wearing high heel boots, because my feet are killing me right now - ha! Anyway...

So the recipe said that it made 24 cookies, and I didn't think that would be enough for my family AND to share with Captain Americas guys at work, so I doubled it. And yeah, it was WAY more than I thought it was gonna be. WAY more.

2 cups butter/margarine
2 cups sugar

Mix (someone recently taught me that THIS step is the key to good cookies. Mix it for a VERY long time)

Add 4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla

Mix (And here too. Mix it here for a LONG time also...)

Add 4 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cloves (I didn't have any, so I used nutmeg)
2 tsp cinnamon

Mix

Add 7 mashed bananas

Mix

Add 4 cups oats
1 bag chocolate chips

Mix.

Holy crap! That's a lot of cookie dough!
Preheat the oven to 375, and I fit 12 cookies per cookie sheet. Yeah, 10 dozen cookies. HOLY COW! I was baking forever - hehehe.
Bake for 10 minutes, then let rest for a few minutes on cookie sheet, then cool on a wire rack

So after they were cool, I mixed 1 lb of powdered sugar with 1 package of softened cream cheese, and a bit of milk, to make frosting. I put the frosting into a baggie and snipped the corner, then circularly decorated the cookies, putting a candy corn on the top for a little feel of Halloween :) Aren't they cute?
So in between my 10 dozen cookies cooking, I made this vase, too. With my handy dandy Glue Gun. I like my glue gun. hehe. I glued candy corns to a vase. Yeah, I'm crafty, all right - hehehe.
And then, because I was running out of candy corn, and just to prove how cheap I really am, I glued my broken candy corns back together. ha! I really did! And it worked. See? It's not like we're gonna eat them. RIGHT JIM!!! hehe.
See, didn't it turn out cute! (ignore the laundry in the background... everyone has laundry..., but not everyone has 10 dozen cookies...)

So by this point, the cookies were all made, and I had 4 dozen set aside for Captain Americas battery, and 4 dozen on paper plates to pass out to my friends, and 2 dozen for at home. Sounded pretty good to me :)

Captain America woke up around 4pm, and had to get back to work. He thought he was gonna get till 6pm, but they called them back early. Poor guy.

And I realized that I'd forgotten to take my pill at lunch. Again. Sigh. I'm SO taking a sleeping pill tonight. Taking my Prozac in the evening makes me restless during the night. And I took it today at 4pm. I'm gonna remember it for sure tomorrow :)

The kids and I loaded up in the truck, and went out to deliver cookies. We gave a plate to Veronica when she dropped off Tom and Eme from AQ. We dropped off a plate to Lauries family. We tried to give a plate to Maggie's family, but she wouldn't answer her phone. hehe.

We drove off post and gave a plate to Aimee. She's moving back home with her 4 kids (prego with #5) this Saturday, because of complications with her pregnancy. She's SOOO sick she can't care for them by herself. Poor girl. I feel for her :( She'll be back in May after the baby is born, though.

Anyway, came back on post, and got sandwiches for the kids. Yeah, after 10 dozen cookies, I wasn't cooking dinner too. hehe. I had my cheese, bread, cucumber, and apple. Cause I'd had a big salad for lunch.

And Eme and I started on yet another crafty project. Cause apparently, today was the day for crafts. hehehe.

I took the wicker wreath, and wrapped it with yellow masking tape. I wanted black electrical tape, but they didn't have it at the Dollar Tree, so I figured this would work. Actually, Jake did it for me on the way home from the Dollar Tree. Cause he's a good helper :)

Then I took the 1 yard of yellow, white, and orange fabrics, and cut it in strips. And it took FOREVER! This is how many strips I got out of 1/2 of each of the fabrics. So I till have fabric left for me to make a wreath, too. But my hands were getting tired of cutting, so I just let Eme do hers. I'll do mine another day...

Then, you simply tie the strips onto the wreath, pushing them very close together. I did the first 3, and Eme took over from there, and completed the rest of the wreath. Just double tie it tightly, and it'll be perfect :)

This project was perfect for my 8 year old. She did it NO problem :)
And the completed wreath. Isn't it cute! Good job, Eme!
At 6:30pm, we grabbed Maggie's cookies (she'd finally texted me back with her address - LOL!), and headed out to Wednesday night activities. We dropped off the cookies, and headed off post to the new ward.

And the kids were SUPER happy with the activities. There's a lot more kids there age in this ward, and just a lot more kids in general, I think. Jake LOVED his Scout group, and Tom was super impressed with his Webelos den. They ran around and played games AND had an achievement. He thought it was awesome.

And Joe came in his Scout uniform, and slipped in with the Wolves. Even though he's not old enough, I didn't say anything. hehe. I know, I'm a rebel. LOL!

Eme LOVED achievement days. She brought her wreath, and finished it off while there. And the teacher wanted her to teach the others how to do it :)

Here's Tom and Joe playing ball in the gym

And Eme's group practicing for the Ward Talent show in November.
And while I was there, I got a chance to meet with the Bishop. He's a great man, and I really appreciate him. I got a blessing, and felt really good after. I really am glad that we're going to Hondo Pass ward, and know that it's gonna be a very good change for our family :)

We headed back home at 8:30pm, and I got a text from Captain America saying that he was all done for the night, and heading home! Woohoo! I was pretty excited.

I put the kids to bed, and Captain America helped put a few to bed when he got home. We talked to Tom, who'd gotten in trouble at afterschool PE (AQ). Some kid was mean to him, and rather than tell the teacher, he did something to the kid, then Tom was the one to get in trouble. We talked about what better choices would have been, and what the punishment was for it. Talking things out with Tom help him. Poor Tom. He's such a good kid. I know he'll get it figured out :)

After the kids went to bed, Captain America and I hung and chatted for about an hour. It was nice to tell him all about my day, and what I'd been up to, and stuff. I felt like I hadn't had a chance to hang with him for a while, and I missed him. I was nice to just relax and talk and chat.

He went to bed at 10:15pm, and I started blogging. And here it is, 11:10pm, and I'm SO sleepy. I still need to make a freebie and post it. But luckily the blogging part is done :)

Tomorrow I need to look at the bills, and go grocery shopping, and then at 6pm, Joe's Cub Scout group is doing a campfire at Old Ft Bliss. The kids are pretty excited about going :) And then maybe Captain America and I will go out after that :)

Oh yeah, and just to clear up any misunderstandings, Ft Bliss' rules are that 12 year olds can babysit siblings, and 13 year olds can babysit anyone else. And I have a 13 year old who has taken babysitter training (first aid, cpr, etc). So I'm not just leaving my kids alone unsupervised :) Just putting that out there :) There was a friendly comment on the blog asking about it, so I thought I'd mention it.

Running Errands

Morning, girlies :) How was your day? Mines going great so far! Busy but good day. Woke up at 6:35am, and Captain America was home! Did I mention yesterday that Captain America's unit was doing some field exercises, and he was on the 6pm to midnight shift, or something dumb like that. So he go home last night at midnight, but I was asleep.

So I was excited to see Captain America when I woke up! I hung with him until he left at 7am, then said my prayers, got kids off to the bus, and read my scriptures. A little out of order, but I was happy to rearrange it to see Captain America for a few minutes :)

And then I went back to bed. ROFL! Because I was sleepy because I didn't sleep well last night. I think, because I took my pill at 5pm, that I hit my "energy burst" in the middle of the night, so I was restless. So I felt tired.

And I went back to sleep, and woke up at 9am. And felt SOOO much better. I texted with Captain America and Mandi and Laurie for a while, then decided to use the rotten bananas to make Banana Bread muffins to take to Captain Americas unit.

Here's 1/2 of the bananas that need used. 7 overly ripe bananas

And those same bananas mashed up.

I creamed together 3/4 cups of margarine and 1 1/2 cups of sugar. Then added the bananas, 1 tsp of vanilla, and 2 eggs.

Then I added 2 cups of flour, 1 tsp of soda, 1 tsp of salt, and 1/2 cup of buttermilk (regular milk with vinegar added to curdle it). And mixed it all together.

Then added 1 whole bag of chocolate chunks and mixed together.

And divided it between 24 cup cake tins. I didn't have papers, so I just sprayed it really good. And Banana bread is not complete without brown sugar and cinnamon on the top. It's just not. hehe.

I cooked it at 350 for 30 minutes, and the whole house smelled DIVINE! I let them cool on a baking rack, and set aside 6 for my family, and put the remaining muffins on a platter and wrapped it in saran wrap for Captain Americas peeps. Mmm, muffins!

So I still have 7 over ripe bananas left to make something out of. And a while bag of chocolate chips. Hmmm, I wonder what I'll bake tomorrow. Or later tonight. Then I can send whatever yumminess is cooked to work with Captain America in the morning, and I don't have to drive out there....

I got Jimmy to the bus at 11am, and then got dressed in real clothes. No shower, but my hair looked passable from yesterday :) My makeup was a bit smudged, but whatever. We don't have to shower EVERY day, right? ROFL!

At 11:20am, I headed out to El Taco Tote. I was gonna get some food for Captain America and I, and have lunch with him in the field. Yeah, I don't know if he was supposed to have "friends" out, but I was bringing muffins, so hopefully no one would have issues with it :)

I ordered the Brochetta plate, and got 2 to go boxes to get some cucumbers, chips, salad, and green sauce. And assembled that while my food was cooking. Within 10 minutes, I had our food and was headed out.

Here's me with my El Taco Tote soda :) Which I was very grateful for. Because apparently I WILL get a headache if I don't have a caffienated soda before 11am. I got 2 cans of Diet Dr Pepper and some pain meds before leaving the house, and felt much better about 30 minutes later.
I didn't want our lunch to spill. Hehe
And I drove the 20 minutes out to where Captain America was. He walked me around, and we passed out all the muffins to his guys. They seemed to like it. Some of these guys live in the barracks, and it was probably nice to get something "home baked". Awe, I felt good!

Then, after they were all passed out, he and I sat by a launcher and ate lunch. Maybe it was a launcher. I don't know what it was. hehe.

After lunch, he walked me back to my truck, and I headed out. I needed to run a few errands. First, I headed to the hospital to get Jake's meds and a prescription for Captain America.

Yeah, the parking was HORRIBLE. There were no spots, and I did stake out a spot and waited for it, and some fast zippy car slipped into my stop. I would have been SUPER mad, but noticed a spot right behind it opened too. So I would let it pass this one time. hehehe.

And I'm totally counting walking around in the field, and then walking to and from the hospital as exercise today, Dr. Slade. Because I had to park FOREVER away. Seriously. hehehe. Add that to the stairs that I walk each time I go to your office, and I think that will count as 1 of the 3 exercises a week, don't you?

And I was SO glad that they'd written Expedite on Captain America's prescription, because I got put in the "Military Personnel" line, which was SO much faster than the other one. People were glaring at me when I was seen withing 10 minutes of walking in. Sorry, guys. I've had my turns of waiting FOREVER for scripts. It was nice to be seen quickly.

I got Jakes meds, and they almost didn't give me Captain Americas, because I didn't have a copy of his Military ID. I didn't know I needed one. I guess I've never picked up meds for him before. I need to get a copy of it and keep it in my wallet, I guess. Hmmm. But they said they'd do it this one time, so I was happy :)

After the hospital, I headed to the Dollar Tree. Because they have cheap bread. And I found a tall, cylendrical vase to glue candy corns to. Because I'm not sure re-doing the wreath will work. I think they'll just break it again. But if I make it a candle holder, then I think it'll last longer. We'll try it :)

I found some Texas Toasts and some whole wheat hot dog buns. Jake can use those for his tuna sandwiches, me thinks :)

Next, I hopped back on the highway and went to Walmart. I needed some make up (cause I was out of foundation - had to call Jake to get the right color...) and some saltine crackers. Essentials, you know. I walked around the store a bit, because I didn't want to go home yet (ha!), and finally paid and went back to the truck.

And check out the gum that I found. Looked real tasty.
It was ok. Nothing too special. I like the Baskin Robbins sugar free cookies and cream candies better. But this was ok. It tasted like strawberries and cream. Kinda off, a bit, but not horrible. I don't know if I'd buy it again, but it wasn't too bad.

I headed to Fallas, and looked around for a bit too. And I found that big hat the fit my head! So I just HAD to buy it. Even thought I'm anti-hat in general, I'm gonna make myself wear it a few times. ROFL! And I found a new pair of Skinny Jeans, because my old pair are way too big now. Let's hope these fit. You can't try things on in Fallas, but you can take them back if they don't fit. So that works :)

And then I headed back to post, and, of course, got random inspected. I still had a few minutes before I had to get the kids from AQ, so I wasn't too worried. And I even snuck a pic of the guy. hehehe.
I drove home, and chatted with Leigh, my neighbor, for a few minutes in the driveway. She'd just come home too. And I showed her my Fallas stuff, and we chatted about kids and food and life. She's a wonderful neighbor, and a fun lady :)

I took my stuff inside the house, and changed my clothes. Because it had warmed up a LOT and was now too hot for a sweater. Good thing I had a ton of cute new things that I could wear. hehe. Here's a new shirt that I got a Savers yesterday. Me on the way to AQ to get Tom, Eme, and Bella

I was a few minutes late, but the kids were safe and waiting for me. I drove Bella home, then we went home. We all ate a Banana chocolate muffin for snack, and I tried on my hat. Woohoo! See how it actually fits my head, and isn't tight at all? Thanks, dad, for gifting me with an unnaturally large head. hehe.

But this even larger hat makes my head look small! Optical illusions are WONDERFUL, aren't they - hehehe.

So here it is, 4:50pm, and I need to start on dinner. We're having Breakfast for dinner. I think French Toast, since we found the Texas Toasts at the Dollar Tree today. I wonder if Eme is old enough to cook French Toast. I bet she'd like to learn :) And I bet I'd like to have someone other than me cook french toast. ROFL!

OK, now it's 10:45pm, and I have 15 minutes to finish this off, and be to bed by 11pm. Can I do it? I think I can! hehe.

So at 5:30pm, I decided to let Eme cook the french toast. I set up the griddle (which can cook 9 french toasts at a time - SCORE!), and helped her crack 14 eggs into a large bowl. I added some milk, vanilla, and cinnamon, and mixed it all up. Then showed her how to spray the griddle with non stick spray, and dip the bread, and place it on the griddle.

She did a fabulous job. I showed her how to use the spatula to turn it, and when to, and she did the rest. I went back to my computer, and worked on a Birthday project for my Grandma Ida, and let her cook. She was very pleased with herself, as she should be!

And I needed a few newer pictures of the kids for my Birthday project for Grandma Ida, so I took a new pic of each of the kids.

Here's Emeline's

Jacob

Jimmy
Tom
And Joe
And the kids did their chores, and homework, and I worked on my project. And then, at a little before 7pm, I got a text from Veronica. She was at the park, and said that there was a neighborhood get together with free food and stuff for the kids to do. Whaaaaat? I didn't know about that.

So we hustled over to the park. Laurie and family were there, and Veronica and family were there. I had some nice grown up interaction for an hour, and the kids played. I don't know if they ate hot dogs, but I know they had some Popsicle and chips. And waters. And they got whistles (yeah, it was REALLY loud at the park, with everyones small children having whistles...) and blinkie lights and balls and coloring books. Kids were SO excited about it.

And about 20 minutes before we left, the Fire Truck and a MP car showed up. And the kids got to try on the Fire outfit, and see the truck. Apparently the police dogs were there earlier, but that was before we came. Hmpf! That would have been fun to see.

Someones kids at the park. Yeah, it was dark, so I don't know who it was -hehe. I don't think there's any of mine in that photo :)
And here's the fire truck
I got the kids to bed as soon as I got home, and sat down to fix my facebook pictures. Because I hate that my phone uploads them sideways. hehe.

And Captain America texted me at 8:30pm and told me that he and his crew needed to stay until 8am. Whaaaat? 25 hour shift? Yeah, that's SO not cool. But, he said that I could come out and chat with him for a little bit in the parking lot if I wanted to.

The kids were all in bed, so I changed out of my jammies, grabbed a few things (sodas and ice and stuff), and headed out. And got a text after I'd already left to bring a few snacks for his buddies.

Oops. So I stopped at 7-11 on the way and got myself a Diet Dr Pepper (so I could give his buddies my cans of sodas I'd brought from the house) and some York Peppermint patties for the guys, and some honey roasted peanuts. I figured those would be nice snack type foods :)

I turned up Muse, and drove the 15 minutes out to Tobin Wells. Captain America came out, and we sat and chatted in the truck for about an hour. It was SO nice to just sit and chat. We drank our sodas and chewed gum and chatted. He liked the new Strawberry Shortcake gum. But then, his sense of taste/smell doesn't work too good.... hehe.

I headed back to post around 10:30pm, and here I sit. I've got 2 minutes to finish this up before 11pm. I'm feeling tired, yet jittery from all that caffeine. Should have forgone the soda, me thinks. hehe. I am tired, though, so I ought to sleep well.

Night, Digi-Land. Sleep well, and I'll see ya in the morning!

If You're Happy and You Know It

Hola, peeps :) How was your first day back to the work week? Was it a good day? My day? It was FABULOUS! Really, I had a WONDERFUL day :)

I woke up at 6:35am, and pushed snooze. hehe. I was sleepy. I woke up at 6:45am, read scriptures, said prayers, and was only a few minutes behind getting kids ready for school. The kids left for the bus a few minutes late, but still caught it. Pfew!

Captain America and I got ready and headed up to Tom's school at 8:15am. And we were a few minutes late, because some dorky kid (yeah, I don't know which one) smeared lip gloss (red/brownish) ALL over the middle console in my truck. And Captain America put his arm in it before he realized it was there. So he ran back inside, and when he came back outside, he had peanut butter on his sleeve. Sigh. Why are kids SO messy.

Luckily we had a tide stick and napkins in the car... Needless to say, he wasn't thrilled about it. hehe.

Captain America and I got there a few minutes late for Toms teacher conference, but we still made it. Both of his teachers sat down with us, and explained how wonderful Tom was, but that he needs to try a little harder. That he's a SUPER smart kid, but that he needs to show his work and not read so much in class. Because there's other classes besides reading. Which is true.

So we just need to talk to Tom about a slight attitude adjustment. And I know he can do it. Because he's a wonderful kid. We just need to talk to him :)

We headed back home, and Captain America headed to work. Jake did a few classes, and I chatted with my mom for a few minutes. A little before 10am, Jake, Jim, and I headed to the East side Savers. Because it's my most favorite place to be on Mondays. hehe. It's one colored tag $0.99 day. Today was yellow day. All yellow tags were only $0.99. Sa-weet!

Jake and Jimmy went to look at toys and Halloween costumes, and I looked at long sleeve shirts and jeans. I found a HUGE pile of things to try on, and most of it fit! I was amazed. hehe. Usually, when I try stuff on, none of it fits, so it's easy to narrow down the choices. LOL.

I got 4 pairs of jeans for $0.99 each, and a few long sleeve shirts. LOVE it! Jimmy got a bag of cheap toys, and Jake spent some of his own money on some halloween costume gloves. He seemed pretty pleased.

Well, by the time we waited in the MASSIVE check out line, we were late for the bus. And it takes at least 20 minutes to get back to post. So I swung through the drive thru and got Jake and Jim a burger, me a soda, and off we went. I dropped Jimmy off directly at school, and he was even on time. Apparently if I walk him to class at 11:35am, he's still on time. hehe.

Jake and I headed back home, and I put my stuff away and took a shower. I had a one on one counseling session at 1pm, so I needed to leave here by 12:30pm. And it was 11:30. Plenty of time to shower :)

Captain America got home around that same time for lunch, and he hung with me while I got ready. I wore a new pair of Savers jeans, and a striped shirt I actually paid $3.99 for. I know, big spender, huh? hehe.

I grabbed my lunch and ate in the truck on the way to the West side. I plugged in my phone and sang to Muse, loudly, the entire way there. Muse makes me happy.

And I really was feeling happy when I got there. I'd refilled my McDonalds cup with water, and was hydrated. I had on new clothes. And fresh make up. I'd showered. I had put on jewelry. I was singing to Muse. All was right in the world. ROFL!

Here's me when I got to my appointment.

And me checking my email, waiting for my turn at the therapists office.
It really was a good session. And guess what? I'm not shy. Who knew! I always described myself as shy. But apparently I'm just insecure. Because he said I was WAY too social of a creature to be shy. Shy people don't like being around other people. Ha! Shy sure sounds better. ROFL!

Anyway, I need to work on feeling good about myself because of ME, and not caring so much what other people think about me. But that doesn't mean you need to stop saying nice things.... Because I really like that.... really. hehe. Comment whore, you know.... ROFL!

Anyway, we talked about my connections with people again, and he does think that I connect with people. But for some reason, I'm able to sever them relatively easily. I think that comes from my transient lifestyle. But he says that that doesn't fit with my "insecure"-ness. I'm still a mystery to him, I guess. ROFL! He'll eventually figure out what makes me tick.

I did feel a lot better when he said that he recognized that I did make connections, good ones, with people. See, that's me being insecure and wanting reassurance that I'm ok again. hehe.

Anyway, after my session, I headed out again. Because there's a Savers right down the road from my therapist! And, if I'm already in that neck of the woods, it would be a shame to not stop on $0.99 day, right? So I just HAD to stop.... well, that's what I was telling myself. Don't tell Captain America. He doesn't know I went to a different Savers today. hehe.

Me, happy, driving to Savers :)

I found a bunch of yellow tagged stuff, and decided to just try it all on. Because surely most of it wouldn't fit or wouldn't look good. Yeah, bad plan. Most of it fit AND looked good. hehe. At least it was only $0.99, right?

I found a shirt for Eme, a sweatshirt for Jim and Joe each, a shirt for Tom, and a new Hawaiian shirt for Jake (because he's discovered he LOVES them). And lots of shirts for me :) Because I love new (to me, anyway) clothes :)

And I was gonna stop at Walmart, but realized that I didn't have time, so I headed home. Jake had gotten Jimmy from the bus, and I swung by the school to check on Tom and Eme, but Veronica had picked them up from AQ. I'd told Jake to text when they got home so I could be sure, but he forgot. That's ok. School is on the way, so it wasn't a big deal.

I picked up Joe, Eme, and Jim from home, and we 4 went to the commissary. I needed chocolate chips and splenda. Because those are staples, you know. hehe. Well, Splenda is, if you eat fat free, plain yogurt for breakfast! ROFL! It's quite nasty without it :)

And the chocolate chips were for the banana bread I'm planning on making with my rotten bananas tomorrow morning. Because banana bread is SO much tastier with chocolate. Well, I think so anyway...

And check out my poor wreath. Yeah, Jake had opened up the pantry door, and the wreath toppled to it's death. I'm not sure what happened, but I know it's no longer salvageable. Good thing I have enough supplies to make another one :) I did have fun making it, so I'm not too upset. Just another chance to build a wreath!

I'd bought frozen pizzas for the kids for dinner, but didn't wanna hang with the kids. So Eme and I left real quick, and went to the mall. And walked around for about 35 minutes. It was really nice spending some time with just her. We went to the Jewelry Box, and window browsed a few other places. We had a good time looking and chatting.

We came back home, helped the kids finish off dinner, and did chores and homework. I texted with Captain America for a bit, since he was on 12 hour duty, and wouldn't be home until midnight or so, and the kids and I put in a movie at 6:30pm. Chronicles of Riddick. Yeah, maybe not the best little kid movie. Hmmm. I'm not really paying such great attention. I may need to watch it again one of these days. Or just ask Jake and Tom what it was all about. They seem to be paying attention.

Here's me right before the movie, sitting on the couch, watching kids do their homework.
And me in my jammies. I had all the kids put on their jammies, and we turned out all the lights to make it like a movie theater :) And I, of course, got 2 little boys snuggling with me the entire time :) Cause the love me :) And I love it!

And it's now 8:35pm, and I'm hoping that this movie is almost over. Because I want to put kids to bed. And I'm totally lost as to what is going on in the movie. ROFL! I have no idea if it's over or near over. I guess I should have paid closer attention. ROFL!

I'm off to design a freebie, then an early bedtime for me :) Night, all!
