The Usual Suspects

First off, I join with the rest of my country in remembering the tragedy that occurred on September 11th, 10 years ago today. I still remember where I was at the time. And what I was doing. As I'm sure you all do too. Lets use the tragedy as a reason to join together as a country, and be stronger. Be better. Be more watchful. And be more prepared :)

Hey there chicka's! Hope things are going well :) Things are good here at the Harty household :) I got to sleep in this morning. Well, I woke up at 6:30am, screwed around on my phone for a bit, then went back to sleep. Cause I could. hehe. It's nice having older kids sometimes. Just sometimes - ha!

By 8:30am, I was ready to get up. Everyone but Jake and Tom were already awake. And they slowly trickled in. And we had breakfast, and then my friend Lesa invited us to Chuck E Cheese with her. Just for fun. Sounded like a plan!

I had the kids clean the house a little, then we printed out some coupons, and we headed out.

We got a pizza and 3 sodas and 40 tokens for $19.99. Then we got 165 tokens for $25. Twice. And Joe and Jim both had 20 free tokens for their birthdays. And Jake and Tom and Eme got 10 free tokens for cleaning their rooms. Well, that's what the "chart" said anyway. hehe. Free tokens are free tokens...

I got to sit and chill with my soda and chat with my friends for 2 hours. And the kids had all the fun they could possibly have. hehe. It was a great plan. Except for the noise and the lights. That's NEVER good on my head. I'd brought an Imitrex JUSt in case. And yeah, I needed it. So I popped it about an hour into it, and I was fine after that.

I even got up and did a few "rides" with the kids, and took some funny photos.

We finished up at Chuck E Cheese, and decided to hit Big Lots since it was in the same shopping complex. And I can't pass up Big Lots.

Aren't these cool? I didn't get them, but thought they were pretty nifty!
We looked around for a while, then headed home. I didn't find anything that I couldn't live without. And I'd had enough of kids at the store. We started to drive home, and Jake asked again to go to Walmart. He has Birthday money that is burning a hole in his pocket. He'd been asking us for DAYS and DAYS to take him to Walmart. And he'd talked me into agreeing to taking him to Walmart some time today. I figured I should just bit the bullet, and do it now. We're already out of the house, right???

So we headed to the "Jaurez" Walmart. And the parking lot was full. As was Walmart. Sigh. We looked at a few things, and we headed to toys. Luckily, picture frames were RIGHT across from toys. I picked up at 16x20 poster frame. I was gonna have our family photo printed out at Walgreens. They do that now :)

Jake found the Nerf guns that he wanted, and we paid, and we didn't even have to wait in line! Miracle of miracles! hehe. They actually had cashiers waiting to check customers out. I know, right??? hehe. NEVER in El Paso!

We paid and headed home. And spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing. The house was mostly cleanish from before, so I gave the kids free electronics time. Around 4pm, Jake and Joe and Leo went outside for a Nerf war. And had fun. Joe ended up going to Leo's house to play for a while.

I edited some photos to send to Walgreens, and then sent them off. And Terra texted and wanted to know if I wanted to go to dinner with her and her girls! SURE! I hadn't seen Terra in AGES it seemed :) She picked me up around 6pm, and I left Tom in charge and with directions.

We headed to Applebees, and were seated right away. Here's our Queso Blanco. I joked that it meant White people Queso. Yeah, it was spicy, so I guess not!

After dinner, we swung by Walgreens so I could pick up my prints, and Terra dropped me off at home. I had a GREAT time hanging with my friend! Miss ya, hon!

The boys helped me put the photos in the frames, and we all worked together to get them hung. I wish Captain America were here to help me hang them. Because he's so anal... um, er, exacting, when it comes to lines and angles and measuring and stuff. hehe. So don't judge it too harshly, honey! You can fix it when you get back home!

That family picture is a 20x16, and the 6 picture frame has 4x6's. And the digital frame is a 10.4 inch screen. But I didn't like it there, and moved it.

I moved the digital frame over to the wall with Jesus on it :)

I have my WordArt on the digital frame.

After we got the photos hung, we started on chores. And Eme and Tom started bickering SO bad. It was driving me nuts. I just kept telling myself that it was because their dad had left. And they were reacting badly. That MUST be it, right? hehe. I can use that mental excuse for a few days, anyway :)

We got the chores done, and I helped Joe and Jim clean up their room, and it was 8pm. I put Joe and Jim to bed, and let Jake and Tom and Eme watch one more episode of Star Trek the Next generation. And I sat down to blog. And I'm done now, and it's 9pm. On the dot. I'm gonna go put them to bed, and watch one more episode of 24. Oh yeah, it was a good Saturday :)

And yeah, I messed up on the WordArt. It's supposed to be a Sunday one. AND a birthday one. Cause today is Jimmy's 6th birthday. Tomorrow. I'll try and get it sorted out tomorrow. hehe.

That sounded like a typical busy, Bethany day. hee hee One that would leave most of us gasping for breath and you did it with five kids along. :)

I'm praying for all of you as you adjust to Brent being gone again.

Thanks for the great word art. Big hugs!!!
