Just had to share a few quick pictures of my boys! They have been working hard on their Cub Scout advancement these past few months, and finally earned their Rank Advancement. Thomas earned his Wolf Badge, plus 3 arrow point, and Jacob earned 5 activity pins, his Arrow of Light, and his Boy Scout joining badge! Way to go, you guys!!!

Every Time You Smile

So, this 4th of July, my hubby gets to go and be part of the 145th Year Gettysburg Civil War Reenactment. He's SO excited! I've been busy helping him get the last minute sewing things done. On Friday, I made him a quilt, and Sunday evening, we worked on shrinking his pants (yep, he's lost 45 lbs since xmas time!!!), and fixing a collar on his shell jacket. Aren't I a nice wife (good thing he couldn't hear me talking to myself inside and wishing i was designing - LOL!)

So, did you all like the patriotic stuff from yesterday? I had SO much fun making it :) Well, I got a little carried away with today's freebie too! LOL :) Back for the Scraporchard June Collab, I tried to make some bugs from a TUT, and it took me like 3 hours to make 'em. They've been sitting on my 'puter ever since. Well, when Mags requested this quote, I thought that the little buggies might be great on the WordArt. Then, I thought that I might as well GIVE you the bugs. Then, I thought that some nice papers, the same colors as the bugs, would be even better. So, it kind of evolved into a "mini" kit thingy.

Paradise

Just had to share a pic with you. We went to Wal-mart yesterday and got our family pics taken. We got the $5.00 package special of the group, and then bought the CD with all the images and the copyright to it. I figured I'd use it more than getting prints made. Plus, I could scrap 'em, and change backgrounds, and ADD WORDART! LOL, and whatnot, then send it back to Wal-mart photo center, and print it there. Or to my mom's photo center in Florence, Oregon. Or to my mother-in-law's photo center in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Yeah for Wal-Mart!!!

And yes, I know I have a big head, but it's not polite to stare :) hehehe

I normally don't like the blue background, but this one turned out pretty good!

I Learn

WOW, what a great Monday we had! First off, my oldest son (10) Jacob and I went for a little exercise walk around the block. It was about 30 mintues, and 2 miles. I felt good, and I think he was very proud of his efforts.

At 11:45, we walked to the library (only about a 3 minute drive) for the cities "free lunch" program. The kids were SO excited, and had a great time :) We checked out a few books, signed up for the summer reading program, and headed home.

At 2:00, we walked back to the library to see a Magic Show. It was AWESOME! Tom Foolery was the guys name (ha!) and he was a blast! Kids really liked the show.

Then, at 5:15, we headed for Chillicothe, where we saw the Techumseh! Outdoor Drama Performance. WOW! It was amazing. They needed volunteers to come and wash down the seats and be ushers, and they'd give you free admission. So, the kids and I were there at 6pm, washing down the seats. The kids really got into it, and had a good time (well, I could tell that Jacob, 10, was thinking that there was better things he could think of doing - lol!).

My hubby was a bit late in getting there (about 7:00), and joined us as the kids were eating a popcicle in the Food Area after the cleaning was done. He'd been a few weeks previous, and helped out then also. The show started at 8:00, and was FABULOUS!!! We really enjoyed it.

The set was magnificent - they even had a large pond that they used. Horses, guns, cannons, canoes, fire - I was blown away! I'd recommend a trip to anyone coming this direction :) It would be well worth your time :)


We didn't even get home until about 11 pm (yeah, the kids said that they LOVED the show, but asked if next time we could have it start a little earlier, cause they were tired - lol!) So, it's midnight (or past!) as I'm finishing up this post. You all should be lucky that I LIKE YOU so much. I'm gonna be sleepy tomorrow :)

What a busy Saturday we had! We were gone from noon to nine! So much for my day of designing. But, I did manage to design from 10-midnight! We had a fun day as a family, shopping, putting winter clothes in the storage shed, helping a friend clean out his horse stable, and driving around. Nothing too important, except some good old quality family time!

Wow, is it already the 21st of JUNE! (Isn't this the first official day of summer?) How did that happen! Time is sure flying by fast at the Harty House :) The kids are having fun just hanging out and having fun. They do chores (yeah, that's not their favorite part), play on the computer, swim in the pool, play in the backyard, card games with mom, coloring and drawing, letters to pen pals, movies - what could be better! Don't ya just love summer!!!

Hope everyone had a WONDEFUL Father's Day yesterday! We had a little Father's Day party on Saturday night, since we usually don't see my husband much on Sunday's. He was out the door at 7:30am (no breakfast in bed :(), and didn't get home until about 3. He took a nap (that's always my favorite part of Mothers day!), then had to turn around and got out Home Teaching. The 2 oldest boys, and Captain America, and I did get a chance to play some games tonight, though. That was a lot of fun. We played "Magic, the Gathering", a card game. We'd just recently bought some new decks at Wal-Mart, and wanted to try them out and teach the boys how to play also. I won, and that always makes the game seem more fun! lol!

Thin Feels

This WordArt request is from urgrlfrdy. She's doing Weight Watchers, and says that it's her favorite new thing they say there. I've heard it a few times, and also think it's great. I have to keep this in mind when I'm watching my kids eat things like Wendy's Frosty's, and fried chicken, and quesidellas (yeah, it's definitely not spelled right!) with ranch. While my food is tasty and satisfying, sometimes my brain likes to feel sorry for itself. I just need to repeat this saying more :) But, something is working, cause I'm 14 lbs down. Yeah for me :)
