First Day of School

Forgot to show you this picture :) It was a poster my brother had in his room growing up, and we ended up with it, somehow :) hehe. My kids like watching the HeMan cartoons, so it seemed fitting. Well, at Walmart yesterday, we bought a $7 poster frame. We had to trim off the white boarder, but other than that, it fit nicely :)

So we got up at 7:30am, and got ready for church. I couldn't find Jimmy's white shirt, so he had to use blue with his suit. Sorry, kid. I'll find the white one for next week. At least he had shoes. hehe.

I listened to an April 2010 General Conference talk while I put on my make up and fixed my hair this morning. I think that may have to be my new Sunday morning routine. I really enjoyed it :)

Here's me before church. Yeah, didn't realize I had that roll. Nice. I liked the shirt, though. They had green and purple too. Maybe I'll have to go and get some more - hehe.
So during Sunday School. Brother Aguiliar (Aimee's hubby, The Rock - ha!) talked about HeMan. Ha! We just put that in a poster holder! hehe.

The rest of church was good. I do feel sorry for our poor Primary, though. We have a president, and a secretary. No counselors. No pianist. No music leader. SO, we need some people to move into our ward to fill some callings.

We came home a little after noon, and here's me before putting on my After Church clothes. It's amazing how fast my kids shed their Sunday clothes after they walk in the door. ROFL!
We got lunch, and watched an episode of Waler, Texas Ranger, season 1, then Captain America and I went to take a nap. Cause that's what Sunday afternoons are all about, right? LOL :)

After nap time, Walker was still on, and we organized school supplies, packing backpacks with all the stuff we needed. School supply lists werent TOO out of control this year. We've lived in places where it's HORRIBLE. And where they make you pay fees. I'm not big on fees.

Anyway, here's all of our left over stuff. Have you ever needed to buy a pack of crayons when it's NOT back to school time? Over a dollar a box. Yeah, I think not. So I bought a WHOLE ton of crayons, and glue sticks, and glue, and notebooks, and composition books, and folders (with and without prongs), and pencils, and such. Hopefully it'll last me till next year. I don't know why my kids treat crayons like their disposable...

Captain America went out to the garage to work on the Raingutter Regatta track with the older boys, and I snuggled with Jimmy for a while. He'd taken a nap too, and woke up grouchy. Joe took a nap also. While it's good when the kids nap, it means they don't go to bed at bedtime as well. It's a trade off, I guess :)

I made dinner, and it smelled SO yummy. Pork with Basil, Garlic, and Tomato marinade, with real basil, garlic, and tomatoes added. YUMMY! I had it with salad. I made whole wheat pasta for the kids to have too.

Here's Captain America in the garage working with his new saw :)

His parents called after dinner time, and he and I sat on the back patio while he chatted with them. It was SUCH a nice night in El Paso.

So he finished up his phone call, had dinner, than went back to the garage. I started on my blog and such, then Captain America and I both did scriptures and prayers with the kids, and I tucked them in bed. It's now 8:20pm, and I'm sitting blogging in the garage, watching/listening to Captain America use the saw. He's got the braces/supports cut, and now needs to cut the PVC pipe. I need to design a freebie, and I'll be done :)

I'm getting up at 6:30am tomorrow to have the kids ready for school. Wish me luck!

PS What's the story on the Bishop's daughter? Is she okay now? Her mom's heart must have stopped when she saw the collision...

Sounds like a great Sunday. I too purchase extra school supplies at the beginning of the year if I can. Definitely cheaper than in November or January when you need something. Thanks for the great word art.
