We woke up a little bit before 9am. See how excited I am :)
We all ate some Breakfast, and then sat down to open stockings. Jim had already broken into his. Grrrr. Maybe next year he'll listen - hehe.
Here's me with my stocking
And I took a buttload of photos of my kids and their present opening fiasco, and actually had time to scrapbook today!!! Miracles never cease - hehe. SO, to spare you the 500 pictures from just opening presents, here's a page of each of the children opening their presents.
Kits used are by Studio Manu, available at SBG, and the WordArts are all by me!! From my Christmas WordArt Packs.
It really was a fun and enjoyable morning. We were done with presents by around 10am. First stockings, then Santa presents, then Grandma Lyn and Papa Steve presents, then the family gift, then the stuff for mom and dad. It went pretty good :)
Here's Joe and Jim with some of their presents from Grandma Lyn
Captain America and I with the new 2TB EHD. He's taking the 1 1/2 TB EHD with him when he deploys, and I"m keeping the big one :)Boxer got 2 toys (which he could care less about, although he's fascinated with Joe and Jims bird stuffed animals...) and a chewy bone snack. He LOVED the snack.
See how nice it looked outside? Yeah, it was GORGEOUS! But hot in my house. I turned off the heat, opened a few windows, turned on the fans, and the door was propped open most of the day. I know, I know, you're all living in the snow and frozen and icicled places. Yeah, not us - hehe :)
Here's the aftermath...
Since we'd bought the off brand Wii controllers at Big Lots (hehe), I had to test them out and see if they really worked. Jake had to teach us how to connect them (LOL), and we all 4 played some Lightsaber game. Yeah, I lost first - ha!
We spent the rest of the day playing with new toys, and I cleaned up the living room real well. Moved furniture and swept real good underneath the couches. And rearranged a tiny bit. The tree is now more central. Yeah, should have done that one BEFORE Christmas - hehe. Oh well.
Boxer wasn't quite sure what to think of all of the craziness. We don't know what his "story" is, but he doesn't appear to like Nerf Guns. Even the sound of them makes him jump. He spent the majority of the day in the backyard. We left the door open so he could come and go at his own pace, but he just laid in the sunshine on the back patio. I really felt sorry for the poor guy.
At some point, we made the kids put their new Nerf Guns away, and Boxer came back inside. I bet that his old family used to shoot him with them. Yeah, that makes me mad just thinking about it. He's the sweetest most loyal dog I've ever known, and that someone would torture the poor thing like that..... but then, I'm just guessing. I don't know. Either way, he really really didn't like the Nerf Guns.
Jake gave him a bath outside later in the afternoon, and he was nice and shiny. And my living room looked really good, and the dog was clean, and the mess was picked up, and I was happy. We watched a TON of Christmas movies, and ate a TON of Christmas food. Yeah, too much Christmas foods, I think - hehe.
Then, at around 4:30pm, Captain America and I went out for a walk, and took Boxer with us. It was a pretty good pace! 4 miles in an hour. Not bad considering we had to wait for the silly dog to pee on everything. Not used to that one yet - ROFL!
We headed back home, and got Christmas Dinner ready! Tacos! Yeah, not too time consuming of a job. hehe. I'm SURE that's why my family always does tacos. We set up an assembly line Taco Station, and turned the kids lose. hehe. Build your own tacos :)
Eme was feeling yucky. Actually 3 of the 5 were feeling yucky, and napped today. Tom puked after Joe last night, but made it to the bathroom. I think. Or he cleaned it up himself. I don't know. And Joe was on and off feeling yucky. Eme took a 3 hour nap today because she wasn't feeling well. This is JUST after she woke up. She didn't eat until we were almost all the way finished with the food.
didn't get a picture of me eating, because I SCARFED that taco down - hehe. Here's me with my soda, though...
After dinner, the boys played some computer games, and I scrapped for a bit. The kids went to bed around 9pm, and Captain America and I sat down to watch a movie. And I'm not sure how it got QUITE so late. It's now 1am. And the movie we were watching is looping. ROFL! I think it's time to finish this up, and got to sleep. Church doesn't start till 12:30pm, but I wanna take Christmas Pictures tomorrow when we're all fancied up :) So I can't sleep in ALL day long....
