And I totally went back to bed. And slept till around 9am. It was SO nice :) hehe. I got up, Jake got up too, and got to school, and I had breakfast. Then got ready for the day. Showered, and hair, and make up. And I listened to a Glee Soundtrack as I got ready. What a great day :)
At just before 11am, Jake and Boxer and I walked Jim to the bus stop. It was warm enough for jeans and short sleeves, and was SUPER sunny! hehe :)
We went back home after the bus, and I continued getting ready for my therapy appointment at noon. And I knew that there was a quick title place on the West side, and Captain America had told me to go there to license the vehicles, because it was fast. So, I figured that since I was going to the West side anyway for counseling, that I'd go a little early and stop by the Title place. Sound plan, right?
I had about 15 minutes to be in the title place. And once I got there, the parking lot was full. Not a good sign. I peeked my head inside the door to the place, and EVERY seat was filled, AND people were standing there. Yeah, SO not gonna be a 15 minute trip. So I went back to the car, and headed to my appointment. I'd get the stickers another time.... Lets just hope that I don't get pulled over in the mean time...
I made it to my counseling session about 10 minutes early, and had a very nice session. We talked about last week with the kids, and how I didn't "kill" anyone, so my week was a success. hehe. We talked about how I was backsliding on my diet, and had gained about 20 lbs total. SO not good. That's my pattern with diets. Lose weight, gain weight, lose weight, gain weight. He said that I need to stop the cycle. Get to where I want to be, and STAY there. Don't gain a ton of weight. OK, so I'm BACK on my diet.
And we talked about stratigies to stay on the diet. I'd made a little flip book of ideas to keep me on my menu, and I"m supposed to look over that ever hour for the next few days. Oops. I've looked at it once. hehe. Also, when I'm tempted to gorge myself on foods that are not good for me (think a dozen cookies or a bowl of cookie dough or 5 servings of cereal...), I need to realize that they're not "fillers" for my stress, but Pseudo-fillers. They actually add to the problems, not take away from them. So I'm hurting myself in the long run. And in the short run. So I'm supposed to think about that when I'm tempted to "cheat".
And finally, I'm supposed to text him BEFORE I eat crap I shouldn't eat. So, if I just can't take it anymore, and I wanna make cookie dough and eat the whole bowl, I PROMISED that I'd text him first. So I can't NOT text him and eat the cookie dough. Because I looked the man in the eyes and promised. And I'm SO not gonna text him and say that I wanna eat the cookie dough - hehe. So, I think I'm back on my diet for good. What's that quote about integrity? By Karl G Maeser. I first read it while at BYU. It was on a plaque near the Maeser building...
I have been asked what I mean by my word of honor. I will tell you. Place me behind prison walls—ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground—there is a possibility that in some way or another I will escape; but stand me on a floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of the circle? No. Never! I would die first!
So there you go. I drew a chalk line around the food, and told my therapist that I'd call him before I crossed it. So I will.
Anyway, I left feeling pretty good. Could have been, in part, the hour of adult conversation - hehe. I SO need more of that. And Facebook is good and all, but REAL live interaction is SO much better :)
And I headed home. And had to take a picture of the temp to prove how NICE and warm it was today!
As I was heading back on post, I decided that I really should go to the on post DMV. And just cut my losses, wait for hours in line, and get my tags. Because it was already the 8th of the month, and my tags expired the last day of last month....
So I took my ticket, and sat down in a waiting room full of army dudes, and started reading the Christmas Present that my mom gave me. And OMGosh, girls, it was SO good! What a SWEET love story! I'm excited to finish it! I was almost to chapter 6 when they called my number.
So I spent the $162.26 it cost to get new stickers for my 3 vehicles for 1 year, and headed home. First, though, I put on the new stickers on the Ions. And went home, and picked up Jimmy from the bus. And then made a batch of cookies. Peanut Butter cookies. They were SO yummy smelling! Because, no, I didn't eat them. - hehe. And I used my cookie press, and made them into hearts. And they were SO cute! And I made chococlate frosting (from the recipe on the cocoa box), and it smelled SO good too! I put frosting in the middle of 2 cookies, and sandwiched them together. Yummy!
And then we headed to the library. I put the other half of the dough and the other half of the frosting in the fridge to be made after the library, and picked up the kids from the bus stop. I grabbed 2 of Laurie's kids, and Jimmy went with Laurie to get Elise from school, and we all headed to the library. Jake, Tom, Eme, Phearson, Joe, Kayta, and me. And we met Kari and Leo and Josephine there. Jake and Tom and Eme decided to go to the library part and look at books, so really, I had an easy time supervising kids - hehe. And they all liked the cookies! Finally, on the 3rd week of trying to make cookies to take to the library, they turned out! It was the lucky apron, I'm telling you! I wore it today :)
It was so nice to sit and chat with Kari for the hour we were there. Yeah, I'm SO liking having my routine and my friends back. Mother Nature, PLEASE don't send super cold weather to El Paso again. My sanity depends on it! hehe :)
And at some point, Joe slipped out to go to the bathroom, and came back looking like this. We teased him that he'd flushed his head in the pot. He didn't think it was funny :)
And then Laurie and Jim and Rowan and Elise came, and after the show, I took my kids and Elise, and we headed over to Babysitting class for Tom and Elise. And I'd packed a dinner for Tom, since the class was between 5-8. I was dropping off the kids, and Laurie was picking them up. Sweet! It was at the old location because the new location didn't have any water. At least someone called me and told me, right?
So we drove the 10 minutes to the class, dropped the kids off, and headed home. And I turned up the tunes really loud, and sang the WHOLE way back. And yeah, I kinda embarrassed Jake. I don't know why he was embarrassed. I think the people in the passing cars LOVED my show...
We got home around 5pm, and I instantly put on my jammies. hehe. Usually I don't do that, but yeah, my full body girdle was feeling a bit restrictive, and my "fat" pants were too tight. Sigh. Hate it when you let yourself gain weight, and nothing fits anymore... But that's why I promised to stay on the menu, right?
Anyway, I put on my jammies, and had the kids do their chores as I fixed dinner. Leftovers. Yes! Love leftover night :) I SO need to go grocery shopping tomorrow :) I finished off the rest of the cookies, but failed to put on my lucky apron. And yeah, the cookies overbaked. And the cookie press broke. See, I told you! I so NEED that apron.... But, the 2nd batch came out ok, but not in hearts. I frosted those up, and put them in Captain Americas package. Yeah, SO not gonna make it by Valentines day. But I'll send it tomorrow, and he'll get it eventually, right? Love you, sweetie! I hope you like the Peanut Butter Cup cookies!
And I cooked myself dinner, Turkey hamburger and steamed veggies, an apple, and then later, a bag of light kettle corn. So yummy!
And I told the kids that once they got their rooms cleaned, that we'd watch a move. And EMe and Jake were pretty fast with cleaning, so the 3 of us started a movie. And yeah, the 2 little boys never did get it cleaned. Oh well. If they wanna stay in their rooms and clean, so be it. No skin off my nose...
I hopped on over to the Scrapbookgraphics Tuesday night chat, and chatted and watched the movie at the same time. So basically, I did neither one very well - hehe :) Sorry, girls!
And at 8pm, I put the 2 little boys to bed. And watched an episode of Chuck with the big kids. Tom had come home at 8pm. And here it is, 9:01pm. And it's finally quiet in my house. Dog is sleeping on the other couch (I put him in his kennel when I go to bed), 2 big kids are upstairs in their rooms, Eme Joe and Jim are in their beds, and it's quiet. And I like it.
Really, it was a good day. I'm feeling pretty good right now. A little hungry, to be honest. But not really hungry. More like my brain wants me to go and snack. But I'm not really hungry. So I'm gonna go make some herbal tea. And read my list flip chart thingy again. And grab a few pieces of sugar free candy and a gum. And chill for the evening and watch some TV. Cause that sounds like fun.

Glad your apptment went well and you got some ideas to help! Great word art and super layouts by Sharon.
Love your blog and read it daily - you have inspired me to start my own blog, although without the fabulous word art. Hang in there with all that's going on; it's hard to be a military wife and that's why they say you BOTH serve our country. Thank you.
Girl, I had my plates done today too (for North Carolina) $232 for ONE car for ONE year! We just PCSd here from Hawaii, and even there my plates were only $20.50 for 1 year. And on top of that we pay property taxes on our vehicles, but we as military are exempt from that, from what I was told today. But, like you, I had to get it done. My Hawaii plates expired on 1/31 LOL
