A Day in the Life

Lots of new stuff in the store this week! 5 New WOrdArt packs, just $2.00 each. Click HERE to go to my store.

AND, in honor of my Anniversary this month, I bundled up 2 different Love Bundles! Each only $10, for 15 WordArt Packs. Oh yeah, that's a KILLER deal :) Would it be tacky to say "Please Please Please go buy something?" hehe.

All Layouts by Sharon

Hey there girls :) So how was your week so far? Mine's been pretty good! Got up at 7 something today, read scriptures, said prayers, got Jake ready for horse camp, and was out the door by 8:15am with him. We printed him up a new Star Wars shirt, and ironed it on RIGHT before leaving. He was pretty happy.

I left Tom in charge of the other kids, and told them that Electronics were open UNTIL I got home. Then we were gonna be cleaning. I got home around 9am, and we started cleaning. And got done about 10am. And had 30 minutes to kill before going to the sprinkler park. I let the kids each have a popsicle once they were done with their chores. Jim was SO happy. hehe.

The sprinkler park ended up being a TON of fun for the kids. Well, it's a fountain, really. Ft Bliss' Freedom Crossing has a fountain outside of the PX and Food Court. We brought chairs, and let the kids run. I was surprised at how much Tom and Eme enjoyed it. Amanda and Terra and kids were there too.

Joe was SO mad that Jim had taken the towel that he wanted, that he refused to put on swim clothes or play. He put on a black hoodie, zipped it up, and sulked in a corner the WHOLE time... Maybe next time he can play. And his pride won't get in the way...

\

We dried the kids off at 11:15, and then drove on over to Free Lunch at 11:30am. Burritos, veggies, apricots, and milk. My kids went back for 2nds and 3rds. Thank goodness for free lunch. hehe.

After eating, I decided to swing by the commissary and pick up a few needed items. Since we were RIGHT next door... We grabbed some stuff for shish-ka-bobs, and some cereal, and some Steamer dinners, and a few other necessities. And paid and headed home. The kids were SO excited about helping with the groceries. We only had about $50 worth, so I just paid the bagger a dollar to put it in bags then back in my cart, and Tom helped me load the car and take it inside.

We got back home around 1pm, and the kids just wanted to relax. Tom had talked about going to the youth center with Jake in the afternoon, but decided to play with Noah instead. I worked on some Love WordArt Bundles, and got a little nap, and then at 3pm, we decided to go for a swim. And Amanda and Austin came over to play.

After about an hour, we were done with the pool, dried off, they went home, and I watched some 24. And the kids watched a movie. And the rest of the evening passed without incident. We did chores once in there, and I went to pick up Jake at the youth center with Joe and Jim and Eme around 7. Back home we came, and the kids watched Jake play some Guitar Hero on the Wii.

I put Joe and Jim to bed at 8pm, and snuggled with Jimmy in his bed for a while. Jake and Tom and Eme went to bed at 9:30pm. And here it is, 10:30pm, and I'm done blogging, and done adding my store, and done with all my work. It was a productive day. Not a good eating day, though. I think I ate everything that I saw. I'll do better tomorrow. I promise :) I did drink all my water, so that's a good thing, right?

Friday, the girls are going to lunch at Carlos and Mickeys. And Taylor Hicks is coming to Freedom Crossing for an Outdoor Concert. I'm thinking about going and taking the kids, or maybe just going by myself with friends. Haven't made up my mind yet. What do you think? Should I go? Would it be worth it? I don't watch American Idol...

Blowin' in the Wind

Howdy, peeps. Awe, Howdys... Haven't been there in FOREVER! hehe.

Woke up this morning and didn't feel like going on a walk. So I slept in till my alarm went off, read scriptures, said prayers, then got everyone ready for the day. Jake had to be at the youth center at 8:30am. And I wanted to go to Walmart after that. And Tom wanted to go too. So that meant that ALL the kids had to go too. So we got everyone ready, and headed out.

Jake SAID he Boxer-proofed the house. Yeah, he missed a few places.... But we wouldn't discover that until we got home. So off we went.

We dropped Jake off first, then picked up Global Reach, then Montana, and went to the GOOD Walmart off of Montana :)

Aren't I lovely???

We spent forever at Walmart. hehe. The kids were hungry, so we went to the In-store McDonalds and I let them each pick something off of the breakfast dollar menu. Then we started shopping.

We got corn for grilling, and a watermelon, and some yogurt, and some iron-on transfers, and new white shirts for everyone, and Tom bought a pool floatie just for him, and we looked at the toy section, and a bunch of other isles. Maybe we weren't there as long as it seemed, but it sure SEEMED like forever. hehe.

We paid, got snacks for everyone, and headed out. And refilled my water cup at the drinking fountains, added my flavor packet, and proceeded to spill it in my bag of White Shirts. Are you kidding me???? Sigh. Pink crystal light ALL over the white shirts.... Hopefully they wash out...

We stopped at Goodwill and Family Dollar on the way back to post. Jim got a few new pairs of shorts, and I found another white shirt for Jake and Tom. And then we were back to post.

We met Amanda at the CDC for free lunch. Hot dogs, carrots and celery, watermelon, and milk.

Next, if was off to the PX. I needed to pick up a my Prozac perscription. Which reminds me, I still need to take it today! Crap... Anyway, we waited in line for that, then went to the Exchange to look around. We got some candy for the ride home, and some pool chlorine, and headed home. Here's Tom with the Mike N Ikes. hehe.

Joe got in trouble on the way home for running out in front of traffic, and had to clean the suburban out when he got home. He was pretty mad... But he cleaned it out eventually.

I Spray N Washed the white shirts, and started a load of laundry. And then we opened up the pool. It felt SO good. Cause here's our forecast for the next week.
I had fun swimming with the kids. Me and Eme and Joe and Jim. Tom went to play at the neighbor kids house. After about 30 minutes, I was done, and came inside.

I left the door open so I could still hear the kids, and sat down to watch a show. And then Terra texted and said that she was bringing me over a Sonic Happy Hour drink! Sweet!!! See how happy I am? hehe.
I drank my drink in the backyard, and the kids had a popsicle break. Eme invited over her friend from Purple Camp who lives in the neighborhood, Alexis. Very nice girl.

I came back inside, watched a movie, and designed a shirt for myself. (The stain remover worked perfectly, by the way) Ft Bliss Autism and Special Needs Support Group. Cool, huh? And I actually remembered to invert the graphic before printing it. hehe.
I spent some time designing, and cleaning, and Terra cooked us Baked Ziti for dinner. Thanks, my dear! I SO enjoyed my evening of not cooking! At 5:30pm, we made some cupcakes for dessert. And packaged some up to take to the Youth Center.

At 6:30pm, I closed the pool, brought the kids back inside, and took Jim and headed out to pick up Jake. He'd had a GREAT day at camp and at the Youth Center. They'd gone on a field trip for the On Air News club. And interviewed people at Old Ft Bliss, and at the Centennial for Young Ft Bliss Has Talent. Jake seemed to enjoy himself :)

We got back home a little after 7pm, and hung out for a bit. I let the little kids watch a movie in their room at 8pm, and Jake played Guitar Hero for a bit. I designed one more WordArt pack, then came in my room to blog.

Here's a pic of Jim RIGHT before he went to his room to watch a movie. He thought he looked like a duck, so Jake helped him tape it to his face. Good big brother, huh? hehe.
The girls and I are meeting at the PX tomorrow to let the kids play in the fountains. Then Free lunch. Not sure what we're doing the rest of the day. Maybe it'll be a nice, relaxing day like the 2nd half of today was :)

Thunder Road

Morning, girls! Great day again :) Yeah me! I went to bed around 11:30pm last night, and had a hard time staying asleep. Falling asleep was easy, but I woke up around 2:30am, and can remember debating going and doing chores. Because, you know, I have to do housework if I get up in the middle of the night. I must have fallen asleep, though. hehe.

I woke up at 6:30am, and was wide awake. So I got up, and took the dog on a walk. He was actually excited to go again. hehe. It wasn't so hot, but there were a TON of PT dudes around, and Boxer wanted to go and smell EVERYONE. And when a big dogs come at you, pulling his leash as HARD as he possible can, I'm sure it looks scary. I'd be scared, anyway. So I definitely got an upper body workout...

And what's up with boy dogs wanting to Pee on EVERYTHING. I only wish I had the bladder control that Boxer does. hehe. He lets out a few drips for each bush, rock, tree, and stone. Conservation, right? He needs to make sure he has enough for the trip home, too. Dogs....
I got home at 7:30am, and changed clothes. I had Therapy on the West side at 9am. And Jake had horse camp, meeting at Biggs at 8:25. So I was on a tight time schedule.

I got Jake up at 7:50am, and he kinda just laid around. Sigh. He was a little "fussy". And slow. Very slow. All the other kids were awake by the time we left, and I gave Tom directions on what needed done, and what they could/couldn't do. So glad he's such a good babysitter.

We got in the car, and got 1/2 way to Milam Youth Center, when Jake wanted to know what I'd done with his MP3 player. Excuse me? I totally am not in charge of the child's MP3 player. He'd put it by me on the couch and said to watch it, or something like that, but that totally didn't mean to put it in my purse. But of course, I can't argue my point with an autistic teen boy...

Then, he was mad that I hit a bump and he spilled his milk from his cereal bowl on his shirt. Seriously? I got him up in pleanty of time to get ready. But he just laid around. But apparently that was my fault for not checking up on him more. So now I have to dress my 13 year old, too? hehe. Luckily, I was in a pretty good mood, and was able to smile and shake it off. He kinda turned away from me, and looked out the window the rest of the way to the youth center.

I dropped him off, and said Bye, and I love you, and I'll pick you up later, and he just went to the bus. That's fine. I didn't let it get me down :)

I picked up the 601 spur, then Hwy 54, then i-10, and headed West. And totally missed my exit. Oops. I couldn't get over in traffic, so I had to go down to Sunland Park exit and turn around. Good thing I was early!

I got there about 10 minutes early, and my mom called. So I chatted with her until my appointment. We talked about how my diet was going, if I was reaching my goal, and what was going well and bad. We made up a daily check list for the next 4 weeks, and I'm supposed to text him with my daily progress. Sounded good to me :)

After my session, I headed to the Dollar Tree, and got some pool stuff, and some Father's Day stuff for Captain America's package. I paid, and headed home. And hurried and got the kids ready for Free Lunch and then the Slip N Slide party at Amanda's house. And we headed out.

I drove over to Amanda's house so she could follow me. She knew how to get there, but they'd never been to Free Lunch before, and I think she wanted me to show her the ropes. We got to the CDC, went in, signed in, and my kids went through the motions, showing Austin what to do. Yeah, we did free lunch a lot last summer. hehe.

They had Texas Toast Pizzas, salad, oranges, and milk. My kids were in heaven. Amanda's kid and Terra's kids (they got there a few minutes after us) didn't like it so much. So mine finished off their food. And then went back for seconds. hehe.

I'm ready for the slip n slide!

The CDC was all decorated up for the Army's b-day celebration. And flag day. And my anniversary, I'm sure. hehe.
Here's the Menu for the rest of the week. ha!

And I realized that I'd left a few things for the Slip N Slide party at the house. And Amanda realized that she needed ice. So after lunch, she headed to the Shoppette for ice, and I headed home for the stuff I needed.

Tom grabbed the vacuum with the blower attachment, I grabbed the slip n slide, a hose splitter, an extra hose, then I grabbed Amanda's starbucks cup she left there last night, and my lunch, and we were off.

First thing, we blew up Amanda's pool (that looked JUST like ours), then Terra's pool, and Eryn and Eme walked it back to Terra's house (one block away). And we hooked up the hose splitter, and one of the slip n slides, and then started filling the pool.

The kids really did have a great time. Here's the twins on the slip n slide.

Maggie's kids, Hannah and little Jake
The kids really had a lot of fun. They all BEGGED me not to have to go before we went. And then they ended up loving it. Even Tom and Eme. hehe. We had drinks, and popsicles, and cheese crackers, and watermelon (well, the kids did, anyway). And we headed home around 2 or so.

And my kids weren't done with the water, so we planned on hopping in the pool. AND, I found these on my doorstep!!! Flowers from Captain America!!!!

We blew up our new pool floaties, and grabbed the water squirters, and headed for the pool. And had fun playing for about an hour. Then we all went inside and got changed and dried off. And I actually showered. hehe.

Eme played with Kayleigh for a bit, and Tom played with Noah. And Joe and Jim watched a movie, and I watched some 24. THEN CAPTAIN AMERICA CALLED! I was SO super excited! We got to talk on the phone for about 45 minutes. Miss that boy :) It was super nice to talk with him on the phone, not Skype.

The kids got in the pool again for a bit, and I fixed dinner for them. At 6:45, I got ready for the evening, and went to pick up Jake. I left Tom in charge, and gave him bedtime directions for the kids.

I got Jake from the Youth Center, and he and I headed to the movies. I let him pick between Super 8 and X-Men. Super 8 is was. YES! That's the one that I wanted to see.

We got Popcorn to share, and he got a hot dog. Dang, movie food is SO expensive!

And it was an AWESOME movie. Lots of language, so be warned. It's about middle school boys, and they kinda have mouths. I'd let my middle school aged/teens see it, but probably not anyone younger. Shame, too, because it was a GREAT action movie. It's set in the late 70's, and has a very GOONIES feel to it. LOVED it :)

And Jake was so good about snuggling with me when I got scared. hehe. Lots of things blowing up and jumping out at you. He held my hand, and even rested his head on my shoulder a few times. I know he tries hard. Love ya, Jake!

We got home, and Joe and Jim were tucked nicely in bed, and Eme and Tom were watching a movie. They finished it up, and went to bed. And I started blogging. And here it is, 10:35pm. And I'm done blogging, and am gonna watch an episode of 24, and go to sleep.

Jake has camp at 8:25am tomorrow, and Amanda and I talked about going to the Library with the kids and letting them check out books. We'll see how it goes. I may end up going somewhere with the girls in the afternoon, too. I do need to make a Walmart trip here pretty soon...
