Woke up this morning and didn't feel like going on a walk. So I slept in till my alarm went off, read scriptures, said prayers, then got everyone ready for the day. Jake had to be at the youth center at 8:30am. And I wanted to go to Walmart after that. And Tom wanted to go too. So that meant that ALL the kids had to go too. So we got everyone ready, and headed out.
Jake SAID he Boxer-proofed the house. Yeah, he missed a few places.... But we wouldn't discover that until we got home. So off we went.
We dropped Jake off first, then picked up Global Reach, then Montana, and went to the GOOD Walmart off of Montana :)
Aren't I lovely???
We spent forever at Walmart. hehe. The kids were hungry, so we went to the In-store McDonalds and I let them each pick something off of the breakfast dollar menu. Then we started shopping.
We got corn for grilling, and a watermelon, and some yogurt, and some iron-on transfers, and new white shirts for everyone, and Tom bought a pool floatie just for him, and we looked at the toy section, and a bunch of other isles. Maybe we weren't there as long as it seemed, but it sure SEEMED like forever. hehe.
We paid, got snacks for everyone, and headed out. And refilled my water cup at the drinking fountains, added my flavor packet, and proceeded to spill it in my bag of White Shirts. Are you kidding me???? Sigh. Pink crystal light ALL over the white shirts.... Hopefully they wash out...
We stopped at Goodwill and Family Dollar on the way back to post. Jim got a few new pairs of shorts, and I found another white shirt for Jake and Tom. And then we were back to post.
We met Amanda at the CDC for free lunch. Hot dogs, carrots and celery, watermelon, and milk.
Next, if was off to the PX. I needed to pick up a my Prozac perscription. Which reminds me, I still need to take it today! Crap... Anyway, we waited in line for that, then went to the Exchange to look around. We got some candy for the ride home, and some pool chlorine, and headed home. Here's Tom with the Mike N Ikes. hehe.
Joe got in trouble on the way home for running out in front of traffic, and had to clean the suburban out when he got home. He was pretty mad... But he cleaned it out eventually.
I Spray N Washed the white shirts, and started a load of laundry. And then we opened up the pool. It felt SO good. Cause here's our forecast for the next week.
I had fun swimming with the kids. Me and Eme and Joe and Jim. Tom went to play at the neighbor kids house. After about 30 minutes, I was done, and came inside.
I left the door open so I could still hear the kids, and sat down to watch a show. And then Terra texted and said that she was bringing me over a Sonic Happy Hour drink! Sweet!!! See how happy I am? hehe.
I drank my drink in the backyard, and the kids had a popsicle break. Eme invited over her friend from Purple Camp who lives in the neighborhood, Alexis. Very nice girl.
I came back inside, watched a movie, and designed a shirt for myself. (The stain remover worked perfectly, by the way) Ft Bliss Autism and Special Needs Support Group. Cool, huh? And I actually remembered to invert the graphic before printing it. hehe.
I spent some time designing, and cleaning, and Terra cooked us Baked Ziti for dinner. Thanks, my dear! I SO enjoyed my evening of not cooking! At 5:30pm, we made some cupcakes for dessert. And packaged some up to take to the Youth Center.
At 6:30pm, I closed the pool, brought the kids back inside, and took Jim and headed out to pick up Jake. He'd had a GREAT day at camp and at the Youth Center. They'd gone on a field trip for the On Air News club. And interviewed people at Old Ft Bliss, and at the Centennial for Young Ft Bliss Has Talent. Jake seemed to enjoy himself :)
We got back home a little after 7pm, and hung out for a bit. I let the little kids watch a movie in their room at 8pm, and Jake played Guitar Hero for a bit. I designed one more WordArt pack, then came in my room to blog.
Here's a pic of Jim RIGHT before he went to his room to watch a movie. He thought he looked like a duck, so Jake helped him tape it to his face. Good big brother, huh? hehe.
The girls and I are meeting at the PX tomorrow to let the kids play in the fountains. Then Free lunch. Not sure what we're doing the rest of the day. Maybe it'll be a nice, relaxing day like the 2nd half of today was :)

Love it! Thanks
Thank you very much. Dylan may have written it but "Blowin' in the Wind" will always mean Peter, Paul & Mary to me. They came and performed at my high school before they became insanely famous. I loved it!
Perkypine
P.S. Yes, I do realize that I am really getting OLD :(
I could never live where the weather is so hot. At least your kids are able to cool off in the pool. Thank you for this sentiment.
I would take a couple of degrees from you, but not many. You know Willamette Valley weather. :) At least Friday we saw the sun.
Thank you for the sentiment.
Thanks!
