2010

Happy New Years!!! I hope that each and every one of you and your families had a WONDERFUL New Years Eve, and I wish you the best in 2010!!!

I slept in for a while (only till about 8:45am), then hurried out of the room when my mom called. I didn't want to wake up Captain America. We chatted for a bit, then I got on my computer for a while. Housekeeping things online take FOREVER :)

I designed my portion for the Feb 2010 Mega for Scraporchard, and got it all designed and zipped and uploaded. The designing part is the easy part - LOL! It's all the other stuff that goes along with it that takes forever :)

We just spent a lazy morning at home, and at around 1pm, we headed out to lunch. I wanted to take the family over to the west side to try the Chinese Buffet that Andrea and I had gone to last week. I think they liked it :) Jake and Tom seemed to REALLY enjoy themselves. And Joe is a slow but steady eater - ROFL! Just like my dad. Joe is SO skinny, it's funny that he can pack in so much food - ha!

After lunch/early dinner, we headed to the mall to walk around for a while. We weren't buying anything, just there to look. I'll do that every once in a while. Take out ALL the fam, just so that they're used to being in public, and can practice how to act - LOL! And I think it does people good to see families that are SO big - hehehe.

We headed home, and headed out again. Captain America and I went to pick up a different dryer. We'd found it in Craigslist, and it was only $70. We met the dude at the Walgreens parking lot. We were home by 6pm.

We hooked up the dryer, and it didn't work. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? That's SO not cool. We texted the guy, but he sounded busy. He said he'd call in the morning. Sigh. Great. Now I have 2 broken dryers..... But I have faith that Captain America can get it sorted out. He's good like that. I'll just have to trust in him. What else can I do, right?

Also, the girl who's house we were going over to for New Years Eve called to cancel. She had a urinary tract infection, and needed to go and get different antibiotics for it, since it wasn't clearing up. SO, we were left with no plans for New Years Eve.

I had movies for the kids to watch, but told them that until their rooms were clean, they couldn't watch them. They'd been working on their rooms for the past 3 days now. I heard the vaccuum not too long ago, so I'm thinking that it's getting close. The little boys just finished, and they're watching some Santa puppy movie. I don't know what it was - LOL!

My new computer came today! I'm getting it set up, slowly but surely. First step, install Avast Antivirus. My brother in law, Nathaniel (Fan), swears by it. So I go with Avast. And it's free, so I can't complain :) I'll have to do most of it tomorrow. Captain America and I are headed out to see Avatar. I hate to pay for the new movies, but there's nothing left at the cheap theater that we haven't seen yet - ROFL!

Just got back from the movies :) It was AWESOME! The main bad guy was a guy from the Gettysburg movie that Captain America just LOVES. So that was pretty cool. And we kinda figured that the guys from WETA, from Lord of the Rings were involved, since it was simple breath taking at time. The scenery was amazing, especially since it was probably all computer generated. Fantastic!

The movie didn't start until 10:15pm, so it was New Years when we were in the theater. My watch beeped at midnight, I kissed Captain America, and we went back to watching the Movie - LOL! The kids were at home watching movies. I'd got a few for them to watch that they hadn't seen before.

We, of course, got stopped coming back into the post for a "random" inspection. How random is it if we get stopped every time we go on a date? But I was prepared this time. I'd even worn my new wool socks. LOL! And i had a scarf, and gloves. See, being prepared pays off! But then, I think they were checking everyone tonight. They had a TON of security guys, and MP's, and dogs, and such. I guess security it tight on New Years Eve. We just need a sticker on our car that says "We Don't Drink", so we can get onto post - ROFL!

So, I made this COOL WordArt (well, I thought it was cool - of course, I made it at 2:30am, so maybe I just think it's cool - hehehe) for ya! Hope you like it too!

Aren't you allowed to take alcohol into your own home?

You did a great job Bethany!
Yeah, I'm with you, the "random inspection" doesn't seem to be so random lately.

Thank you so much for this Freebie. I want to let you know that I posted a link to your blog in CBH Digital Scrapbooking Freebies, under the Page 10 post on Jan. 01, 2010. Thanks again.

Yeah, you can totally bring alcohol onto post. YOu just can't have it opened in your car, or be drinking it while driving.

Drinking and driving is a HUGE problem in the military, so hence the gate checks. That and preventing other bad things from getting in. I was just saying, we don't drink, so there's no possible way that we could be drinking and driving. Hence the comment on the blog.

Oh Bethany!

This is a fantastic word art. We lucked out last night for our New Year's night out - when we made our dinner reservation, it automatically came with a free limo ride to and from! What a treat!

I so need your help - I've just been called to be a Primary teacher for CTR 6 and I'm nervous as all get out, just being a new convert in the last couple of years! I start THIS SUNDAY! *eek!*

Oooooo, yeah, I forgot to tell you guys. The store is down between the 1st and the 4th for a remodel. It's gonna be SO cute when it comes back online. So just be patient for a little while, and it'll be back :)
