Caught Red Handed

So, it's Sunday. Well, Monday by the time you're reading this. But it's Sunday for me as I'm writing this. Well, not the typical Sunday at my house. While I thought that maybe Eme wouldn't be contagious (isn't is 24-48 hours only?), Jake was getting worse.

He told me that he'd puked in the morning. And that his throat felt worse. I looked inside it with a flashlight, and yeah, it was nasty! White and swollen. Definitely strep. No church for us. He needed to go to the doctor.

So I called Telenurse, and talked with them for about 30 minutes, and she said it sounded like strep, and that I should go to the ER. And fast, because it gets super busy on Sunday afternoons. Great. So by 10am, Jake and I were loaded up and out the door. We got there a bit after 10am. Thank goodness for good neighbors who kept an eye on my kids!

We got in to get vitals taken relatively fast, then waited for an hour and a half to be transfered to quick care. Sigh...

Jake read my Nook for a while, and I designed. Sharon, my layout for freebies girl, is going to DISNEYLAND (lucky!) and I got all my freebies designed through her vacation! See how on top of things we are - ha! I got all the freebies designed, except for 3 Sunday ones. I'm good, huh? hehe.

Finally, they took us over to Quick Care to a room. And guess who our doctor was??? The past Relief Society president from the old ward!!! Her family had moved to Arizona, but she flies back 3 days a month to work at Beaumont Hospital. How cool is that!

She looked in his throat, and yeah, it was strep. So they gave him a shot of penicillin to the butt. hehe :) I'd take it any day over 10 days antibiotics... a few more minutes ,and we were out of there.

And the doctor had said to get Popsicle and ice cream for Jake. So we popped into the commissary real fast on the way home. And home we went.

The house was messy, but the kids were happy to see us. So it was all good. I made pigs in a blanket for the kids, cheese sandwich and cucumber for me, and we settled in for a movie. And spent the rest of the day doing pretty much that :)

We did chat with my mom for a while on the video phone. Check out Jim's styling underwear...
Tom taught Boxer this AWESOME trick with the balloon. If you throw it up for him, he can bounce it back to you with his nose. I bet his previous family played that game with him. SO fun to watch!

I texted with a few friends, and facebooked for a while, and just took it easy for most of the day. And now it's 7pm. And I'm ready to put the kids to bed. hehe. Busy schedule for this week. I like to stay busy, though :) Make the time pass faster :)

And I'm getting frustrated with my weight. I've been following the diet. I haven't been doing as good of a job with the exercise. But I've been eating what I should. And I still feel fluffy. And I don't like it. I know I'm on my period, but still. I can understand feeling like that last week, but I shouldn't anymore. Hmmmm.....++0

Wow, I think I left my laptop sitting on the couch. ROFL! Note to self, don't do that again. Someone might SIT on it! hehe. Anyway, I just got the little kids to bed, and have 6 loaves of Banana bread in the oven! My plan is to split each of the loaves in 1/2, at least, and hand them out. Tom wants to give some to his teacher, and I'm sure Eme and Joe and Jim could give some to their teachers too. And the bus driver always needs treats. And I'll save some for the library tomorrow. And maybe send some to Captain America tomorrow. That would be nice :) I had 18 rotten/rotting bananas that needed used. So I made banana bread!

Sitting on the couch with Tom and Jake, watching more episodes of Chuck, then off to bed :) Night, all!

So Cute! I love the fonts, what did you use? Hey Bethany, is it possible for Sharon to list the credits of the kits she uses? Just a thought. Thanks so much for all you do. I saw your FB post about someone pirating your WA...I don't know why people do that. Take care girl...and don't worry too much about your weight...you are probably in a plateau. I think I'm going to try your eating plan...hopefully it will work for me.

Thank you for great word art. LOVE the font. Would you be willing to share the name of it? It's awesome!

Sorry your kiddo had strep. One of the worse things for kiddos to get.
