Hey there, peeps! What up? hehe. Hope your Sunday was fabulous :) Mine was pretty good. I woke up at 7:30am, and re-set my alarm for 8:05am. I threw on some clothes, and had the kids throw on some clothes too. Jim did NOT wanna get dressed and go to church. Sigh.
Neither did Jake. But he flat out refused to wake up. He did sit up in his room for a few minutes, and mumbled something about not sleeping well last night, and about being too tired to get up. Great. Lets play this game again...
The rest of us got ready, grabbed a quick breakfast, and headed out the door. We got to church about 7 minutes early, even! Not that many people there today. I guess people had gone out of town for the 4th?
Sacrament was good, and passed without incident. No autistic kid in my room there to cause problems, you know... As I was getting ready to go to Sunday School, I got asked to Sub in Primary. I was gonna be Jim's teacher for the day:)
Sharing Time went well, and the kids enjoyed Singing Time. Then it was time for us to go to class. I had the manual, and we did a little lesson. And it didn't take as much time as I'd hoped. I got some papers, and some crayons, and let the kids color for a while. And finally it was time to go home.
After church, I gathered up the kids, and headed back home. Jake was still asleep when we got there. We cooked lunch, and he woke up JUST as we were finishing eating. I didn't cook him anything, and he was mad that I hadn't. And mad that I hadn't woken him up. Whatever! Rude kid.
The other kids spent most of the day watching movies on Netflix on the Wii in Tom's room. Jake was electronics banned. I spent a lot of the time in my room watching 24. I spent about an hour out on the couch near Jake while he read, and I designed.
We had dinner, and relaxed a little bit more. I took a nap in there somewhere, and we did chores once or twice. Really, it was a nice, lazy day :) Gotta love that, right?
At 8:15pm, we got ready, and loaded up, and headed to Biggs for the fireworks show. It started at 5pm, with vendors and such in the park, then the Orchestra played at 7:30pm, but I just wanted to see the fireworks. And i didn't wanna fight the crowds. So Amanda's family and my family met in the Centennial's parking lot, and set up chairs, and watched the fireworks from a distance. We had a great view, and a great time!
Amanda's hubby, Brian, had some army glow sticks, and the kids LOVED them. He had enough for each of the kids to have one to play with. Thanks, Brian! You rock!
We got there about 8:30pm, and the fireworks didn't start until 9:40pm. But we did have a good time sitting and chatting, and watching the kids play. They used their glow sticks at light sabers, and threw them up in the air, and played catch with them, and had a good 'ole rowdy time. hehe.
And finally, the fireworks started. IT was a FABULOUS show! I love me some fireworks :)
We hurried and hopped in the truck after the fireworks, and beat the crowds to the road. Oh yeah! We headed back home, and got there a little after 10pm. Jake hadn't come with us to the fireworks, and said that he could see them from the house. ha! Who knew?
I put the little boys to bed, had the big kids do their chores, then they went to bed too. I loaded my firework pics onto Facebook, then started to blog. And it's now midnight. I've watched SO much 24 today, I bet I have crazy terrorist dreams tonight. hehe. Wonder if I should try and squeeze in another episode before bed? ha!
Terra and I were supposed to have a BBQ tomorrow, but her plans have changed. So I'm gonna go to Amanda's house instead. I hope she and Brian are ready for the craziness that is the Harty family! I'm bringing chicken and brawts to grill, and I know she said they're grilling Salmon and Ribs. Sounds good to me! I've got a watermelon, and some hot dogs. Maybe I'll make some cupcakes too :)
