OK, so I spent the whole evening watching episodes of TV and not blogging... Bad me. So this is gonna be brief...
I woke up at 8am, and had to rush to get to church. I'd bathed last night, so I just threw on some clothes, and got ready ready fast, got the kids ready, and headed to church. And Jake was being slow, so we were 15 minutes late. Luckily, I was in a super patient mood. I was thinking about that on the way to church, and wondering why I was feeling so laid back. I'm not usually like that...
Well, when Jake got mad that I wouldn't let him bring his Lord of the Rings book to Sacrament Meeting and threw it at the truck was around the time I realized why I was "blessed" with extra calmness. Heavenly Father was trying to help me out... He new I needed to be at the top of my game today.
So we went inside, and they were already having the Sacrament song, so we sat on the couches in the foyer. And the kids were naughty and loud, but ok. After Sacrament, we moved into the chapel and had to sit in the overflow. Jake refused to come with us, and went to the truck to retrieve his book. Sigh. Oh well.
After Sacrament, the kids all stayed in the chapel to practice for the primary program, and I hung in the hall with the ladies. Check out Jessica's shoes. SO cute! Her tights were gray, but they looked blue in the photo for some reason.
Sister Cadd taught the lesson in Relief Society, and I was excited. She always does SUCH a great job. After church, we all loaded up and headed home. Captain America was on Skype when we got in the car, so we plugged the sound into the truck, and got to chat with him on the way home. It was a nice 15 minute drive home!!!
I got to chat a few more minutes after we got home, but it was late for Captain America. He went to bed, and I helped the kids get some lunch. Then the kids had reading/quiet time, and I took a nap. At 2pm, we did chores, and I started cooking some soup.
I'm not sure of the exact time line, but between 2-4, we cooked and cleaned and the kids carved pumpkins. We had the Church Deployed Spouses group come over for dinner at 4:00pm. It was a lot of fun! We had us and 3 other families come.
Check out my Frankenstin puddings! Just use clear cups, and decorate the outside of the cups with a sharpie for the face. I used Pistachio pudding, and one Oreo for the "hair". Cute, huh?
By 6:30 or so, the party was over, and everyone was headed home. My kids watched some Star Trek, and I watched some Warehouse 13. And should have been blogging, but decided to take off my acrylic nails instead. And yeah, just relaxed. I guess we needed to relax sometimes too... hehe. I tried the glitter nailpolish removal trick thingy, and it actually worked pretty good!
I'd recommend only wrapping one hand of fingers at a time with tin foil, because it was hard to keep all the fingers wrapped at a time. hehe. But the glitter really did come off quite well. But now my hands look horrid. I may have to put a layer of nail polish on just so I don't have to see my nasty looking nails. hehe. I think I may go in on Tuesday and get new fake nails put on. For $10, you can't really beat that....
So it's 10pm, and I'm off to bed. Tomorrow is Monday (internal happy dance!!!) and the kids head back to school. Amanda should be back from her trip to Denver (finally!) some time tomorrow, and I'm not sure what we have going on for the day. Hopefully something fun and exciting.
Oh yeah, and did I tell you I figured out why Jake has been a turd lately? He hasn't been taking his pills! 3 days in a row, he hasn't taken them. He's told me he has, but his pill holder ran out, and he's forgotten to re-fill it. So I helped him re-fill it today, and watched him take it. I'm gonna be more pro-active in making sure the pills get taken. I don't like the overly aggressive violent mean Jake. He scares me and the other kids. And if he comes out after only 3 days, well, yeah, I'm gonna make sure that the pills get taken...
