A Pocket Full of Sunshine

Oh dear, I was SO sleepy this morning! I SO needed more sleep. 1 or 130am is WAY too late for me... Anyway, I reset my alarm for 8:30am, and slept some more. Then got up, and hurriedly got myself and Jim ready for sports camp. I think he was as tired as I was. hehe.

I stopped by to pick up Austin, then delivered both to camp. And got them all signed in and situated, and headed out. They were playing with hoola hoops when I left.

I got back home, and was totally gonna lay back down and go to sleep. But I gave in, and did some chores. I did more laundry, and maintained the pool. It needed a TON of chemicals, so I put them all in. And scooped out the biggest of the bugs. There were a few bees, a dragon fly, and this MONSTROSITY of a bug!!! It was pretty scary looking!

Amanda was at home waiting for the repair guy. Remember how I told you that her doorbell "blew up"? Well, they were coming back to fix it. And he told me the FUNNIEST story this morning. So, when the nasty smell started in her house yesterday, and she started getting a headache from it, we were asking Austin if he knew what to do if he found Mom "dead", or non responsive in the house. You know, Army families have to think of such things. We don't always have our other half around...

Anyway, we told him to call 911, but he couldn't figure out how to turn it on (new phone). So we said, Well, you could go to the neighbor girls house (who he plays outside with) and get her mom to help. And that was the end of the conversation.

Well, apparently, Austin came into Amanda's room at 6:30am, and whispered to her, and she didn't wake up. So he went next door to the neighbors house, and rang the doorbell, and said that there was something wrong with his mommy, she wouldn't wake up! ROFL!

So Liz came over, and woke up Amanda to see if all was right. Poor girls! Austin was trying, right? At least he'd listened. Amanda made sure to tell him that he needed to try a LOT harder to wake up Mom before alerting the neighbors. hehe.

Anyway, she was busy at home, my kids were awake (Joe was at Leo's house) except for Jake, and everyone was happy, so I headed out to Big Lots by myself. I needed dish soap. Tom was forced to use hand soap to wash the dishes, and I don't know how good that is. hehe. So I went and grabbed some.

And called my mom, and chatted with her for my shopping trip. She's coming next Saturday, and I'm SO excited. I bought new towels for the kids, and a few other things. And I headed back home. And did another load of laundry.

I bought some hair removal wax, and played with it for a little while. But it's painful, did you know? Yeah, I may not be using that again! I should have just got a new razor.... And soon it was time to go and pick up the little boys.

I grabbed Austin and Jim, dropped Austin off at his house, and headed back home. And did another load of laundry.

My kids were watching Deadliest Warrior. Did I tell you about that show? OMHeavens, they haven't stopped talking about it...

It reminds me of Myth Busters. They pick two groups of peoples/fighters, and see which would win. Pirates vs. Knights. IRA vs. Colombian Cartel. Ninjas vs. Something else... You get the idea. They compare their weapons, and fighting styles, and junk, and then see which wins overall. Yeah, there's blood (fake) and guns and knives and nastiness, and my boys absolutely LOVE it! Whatever, as long as they're happy, right?

We skipped Free Lunch, and the kids had microwave Mac N Cheese and Pizza Bites for lunch. They seemed super excited about it :)

I did another load of laundry, and at 12:45pm, I got Jake in the truck (he'd woken up on his own today and was MUCH happier!) and headed to the youth center. I snapped a quick picture of Jake before he went inside.

I stopped at the Milam SAS and the Milam CDC on the way home, and set up childcare for the kids for next week. Wed, Thurs, and Fri, from 12-5. So that I can clean the house in peace. And have it looking good when my parents get here. hehe.

I came back home, and we hung at the house for the afternoon. Jim swam in the pool, and I skimmed it for a while. It was pretty "buggy" when I started, and looked pretty good by the time I was done.

I watched an episode of 24 Season 6, and designed for a bit. I think I got 2 WordArt packs done. And some administrative work done too. Nice, huh?

At 3:30pm, Amanda and I decided to "kidnap" Terra for a brief outing to Walmart. hehe. I wanted a new swim suit (my others are getting a bit thread bare from all of the cholrine). And Amanda needed something or another. Anyway, we left the big kids in charge, and headed out.

I found some melons. hehe.

Yes, I'm wearing my swim suit. It's hot, and we were going swimming when I got back home....

We had fun goofy around and grabbed a few needed/wanted items, and headed out. Here's my cart. Amanda and I shared. hehe.

I got these clearance flowers for myself! Amanda got some flowers for the poor neighbor girl who got woke up early this morning. LOL!
I couldn't resist on the way out...
We put on loud tunes, and sang the entire way back to post. It was a fun little outing. We dropped Terra off at her house, got Amanda's pool stuff, and headed to my house. We all got our stuff ready for the pool, fed the kids real fast (giant sandwich from walmart), and off we went!

We got there RIGHT at pool break... So the kids ate the new chips that I'd brought, then were ready to get in the pool. Here's a few pics that I took.

See my new suit???

They really all were happy. Most were saying cheese. They just looked pained... Amanda and I found our friend, Aleana. She lives in the houses RIGHT across from the pool. We told her that we swim here a lot, and said we'd text her next time we come! Woohoo for friends at the pool :)

We headed home at 7pm when the pool closed, and headed home. Jake called as we were leaving, and said that the Youth Center was closing early, and needed picked up. So we drove on over to Milam Youth Center, picked him up, and came home.

My kids changed, got a snack, and watched some more Deadliest Warrior. And I sat down with them and watched an episode too. They really liked that I was snuggling on the couch with them.

Jim and Joe went to bed, Eme was playing on her computer, and Jake and Tom watched another episode of their show. I headed over to Amanda's house to watch a movie. Then it'll be home, and to bed. I'm babysitting Austin in the morning while Amanda goes to the doctor. So I need to get up earlier. No 1am bedtime for me tonight. hehe.

Don't Stop Believing

Hey, peeps! How goes it! Pretty good here! I set my alarm for 8:05am, and totally went back to bed until 8:30am. Then I was rushing around a bit. Oh well, I was a little more rested. A little. hehe.

I got dressed, got Jim up and dressed, and we headed out at 8:50am to his Sports Camp. Same place as Eme's was last week. From 9-11am. We met Amanda and Austin there, and got the boys all signed up, and with their coaches/teachers, and Amanda and I headed to the commissary.

I needed a few things at the commissary, but my cart seemed to fill up SUPER fast. ha! My kids seem to eat the food WAY too fast. LOL. As fast as I buy it, they consume it.

Amanda brought me back to the Sports place, I transferred my groceries into my truck, and headed home. And she headed home to put away her groceries, and I headed home to unload my groceries. The kids all helped me carry them inside.

Jake was still asleep, and I did my best to wake the child up. Sometimes it's SO hard to get him to wake up. We put all the groceries away, got on our swim suits, grabbed Jim's swim gear, and tried again to wake Jake up.

I SO needed him to go to the youth center. He'd been home ALL weekend long... And not that he was necessarily bad, but I just needed a break. So I needed him to wake up. Eventually, after having to threaten an electronics ban to get him motivated. But it worked.

We all ended up in the truck, and headed out to Free lunch at the main post CDC. Amanda had picked up Austin and Jim from the sports plex, and met us over there. They had Texas Toast Pizzas for lunch. And Jake REALLY wanted me to take him to the Youth Center BEFORE swimming. He didn't wanna swim. He didn't care that he'd have to sit outside the building for 20 minutes before it opened. He'd brought his book and his MP3 player. OK, sounds good :)

We dropped Jake off at the Milam Youth Center, and headed to the pool. And there was practically NO one there. Sweet! We swam till the first pool break, then had some snacks. The kids LOVED the cheese puffy things.

Cucumber and cheese for me!

We ended up staying at the pool for about 3 hours. And we were only planning on staying for 2 hours. But we were all having so much fun. hehe. Kari came for the last hour, and we got to hang with her too. We we loaded up to head out, Joe was invited to stay and play with Leo, then spend the night. The was SO excited.

We headed out, and Emeline realized that her glasses were gone. Crap. I left our name and number at the snack bar, and at the life guards station. Hopefully they would get turned in, or were at the bottom of the pool, and they'd find them after the slides got turned off and the water settled down. Nothing else I could do, right?

We got in the truck, and headed home. And then the pool called, and said they'd found her glasses! So we turned around, and got them. Thank you pool people! Eme can SEE again. hehe.

We went home, got all changed, got the kids situated with what they needed to do, and Amanda and I headed out to Walmart and the Dollar Tree to finish our grocery shopping.

I'm sexy, huh? LOL! We went to the Viscount Dollar Tree, and found the good Nature's Own bread for a dollar. Bagels, and english muffins, and good bread. Sweet! I ended up with a whole cart full for my freezer! Sa-weet!

And we were STARVING! LOL. So we "made a run for the boarder", and grabbed some Taco Bell. It had been SO long since I've been there. I got a Bean Burrito, hold the red sauce, add the creamy jalapeno sauce. OMHeavens, pure JOY.... hehe.

And we headed to Walmart..... We were gonna make nachos for dinner. My hubby is gone, and her's will be gone for a bit, so we're hanging.

Help me, please.... LOL!

We got all the stuff we needed for dinner, and headed home. I grabbed all the kids, and we headed to Amanda's house. And I totally shut my skirt in the truck. Yeah, I'm a dork!

We made the cheese sauce, go the cheese, and tomatoes, and sour cream, and chips, and lettuce, and all other toppings ready. And made these YUMMY cookies and cream puddings. Oh yeah, baby!!
Here's my nachos. We all ate, and the kids played, and we all had a grand time.
We drove out to the Youth Center at 7pm to pick up Jake, and grab Amanda's little wallet from her hubbys car, then headed back to Amanda's house. And we smelled this NASTY smell when we walked in. Kinda plasticy. Or minty. Strange smell, and we couldn't put our finger on it. But it was definitely strong. Amanda called housing, and they said it wasn't an emergency. She was like, Well, OK, I'll call you back when the house catches on fire.... Sigh.

The kids and I packed up and headed home, and I got everyone situated for the night. Joe was spending the night at Kari's house, Jim was snuggling with a blanket on my couch in my room watching a movie, Eme and Tom were on their laptops, and Jake was watching a movie on the Wii.

I grabbed my laptop, and headed back to Amanda's. The smell had gotten worse, and she'd called housing back. And they were sending a dude over to fix it. So I was gonna be there so that she wouldn't be home alone with a strange man. ROFL!

We watched some TV, and played on our laptops, and ate some chocolates (bad, I know...). Finally, the after hours work order dude came by. And he smelled the nasty smell too. Guess what it was? We thought maybe the A/C... Nope. It was the door bell. ROFL! It had seriously overheated, and burned out. At least it didn't catch fire!

He totally disconnected it, removed the box, and made plans to come back tomorrow. Thanks, after hours work order dude! Enjoy the Red Bull Amanda gave you! hehe.

The little boys have Sports camp in the morning, and I'm sure they'll be a trip to the pool in our future. Maybe I"ll do some housework. That'd be good, too! LOL!

You're My Best Friend

Hey peeps :) Happy 4th to you! Hope your day was great! I got to sleep in, so all was well. hehe. We just had a "do nothing" day, for the most part. And everyone was mostly good.

I designed and organized myself (work wise) and watched a TON of 24. The big kids played computer and Wii and watched some Netflix movies. And those were the highlights of the main part of the day - hehe.

But we did have plans for the late afternoon. We were gonna go to Amanda's house for a BBQ around 3:30pm.

I got to gmail chat with Captain America for a few minutes, but he needed to go to sleep, because he had to get up in 5 hours. Sigh. But at least I got to chat with him for a few minutes, right? I'll take what I can get :)

I made cupcakes, and wanted to put some cream cheese in them. I put most of the chocolate batter in the cupcake tins, then took the rest of the batter, and combined it with cream cheese, a little milk, and some powdered sugar. Then put a dollop in the cupcakes. Then sprinkled it with powdered sugar. They didn't look pretty, but they tasted pretty good :)

And we cut up a watermelon, by scraping it out, and refilled it with the watermelon pieces. I know, I know, people do it all the time, but my kids hadn't seen it - hehe. They were super impressed :)

We loaded up in the truck, and headed to Amanda's house. Jake opted to stay home, but the other kids came with us. Brian was just finishing up the ribs, and put the chicken and other meats on. Go Brian! You're a WONDERFUL griller. hehe.

The kids played in the little pool, and Amanda and I chatted. Here's her YUMMY pasta salad that she made.

Me and my DDP!

Jim and Austin in the pool!

This is for you, Captain America They have BBQ sauce from Rudys!

Oh yeah, we had a FEAST! It was a great time. Thanks so much, Amanda, my dear, for inviting us over! It was a fabulous time!

I found Jimmy sitting on the ground like this, and just HAD to get a photo. LOL! Crack kills!
We headed home around 6:30pm, and brought food home for Jake. And had TONS of left overs. Which the kids continued to eat on for the rest of the night. hehe. I designed some more, and watched some 24. Actually, I finished off season 5. We did chores for a while, then I put kids to bed. Around 10pm. Yeah, we stayed up LATE tonight. hehe. But I think everyone had a great time during the day.

I sat down to blog at 11pm (I know, late, huh?), and watched some Hoarders on Netflix. OMGosh, it's disturbing.... I hope I'm not that bad. Somedays, my bedroom looks pretty messy. And my bathroom too... Maybe tomorrow should be clean the house day.... Maybe :)

Awe, SUPER cute, Sharon! Love it!
