August Calendar

Hey there, you guys :) Welcome to the new week! We now only have 3 more weeks until school starts! Praise the Lord. hehe. Not that I'm counting or anything...

We got up at 7:30am, and I discovered that my phone was dead. Oops, forgot to charge it. So I hooked it up, hopped in the shower, and continued to get ready for church. Tom and Eme got up and showered and dressed, and we got Jake up at 7:45am. And he actually got up and got dressed without too much hassle. Nice, huh?

The little boys didn't wanna wake up, because they didn't wanna go to church. Finally 15 minutes before we left the house, I drug them out of bed and dressed them. And yeah, Jimmy needs new sunday pants. His I got at Savers, and someone had hemmed them. They are a BIG size, but with short legs. And by the time I hooked up his suspenders, and hiked them up, he totally looked like Humptey Dumptey. Didn't get a photo, because I forgot my phone at home, charging. Oops.

We drove to church, and Maddie followed in her car. It was a crowded row in Sacrament, but people did pretty good. No complaints from Jake. And when it was over, we took kids to classes. Lily and Ella stayed nicely at their classes, and Aunt Sue and Maddie and I went to Sunday School. And I got pulled out after about 15 minutes to come and get my grouchy child. Huh? Who's grouchy?

It was Joe. He was super mad, and wouldn't go to class. And was standing in the hall, because he wouldn't come with the Primary lady. Sigh. I had to drag him back to the foyer, and sit with him on a couch, pinning his legs down, and holding his arms like in a straight jacket. And kept trying to get away and hit me. What the crap, Joe? He never did tell me what was the matter.

In between classes, Charlotte and her hubby walked by, and Charlotte said that Dave would take Joe and be in charge of him. Thanks, friend! I don't know what they did, but Joe stopped being so mad.

I went back in to find Aunt Sue and Maddie. And stopped to ask Jake's sunday school teacher how he was in class today. She said he'd never shown up, and she thought he hadn't come today. What????

So I went out to the truck, and he was laying across the middle seat watching a portable DVD player. Seriously, Jake? I took it away from him, and had him come back inside. He was grounded from electronics until after dinner....

And I joined my sis and aunt for the combined 3rd hour meeting. It was a pretty good one. We gathered up the kids after church, and headed back home. I started cooking lunch, and I swear my kids thought they'd never had a meal in their lives. I made pasta, and it just couldn't cook fast enough. hehe.

It was a box of pasta, a big jar of pasta sauce, some cheese, a lb of ground turkey, 1/2 an onion, and a package of cream cheese. SUPER tasty. Everyone but Jake ate it. He hates pasta.

Then we spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and watching TV. Jake spent a lot of time in his room reading. And hanging with us at the kitchen table. Here he is programing Aunt Sue's number into the house phone.

Tom and I
Since Maddie and Aunt Sue and I have the same waterbottle, I put hearts on mine so I'd know which one was mine. See how smart I am? hehe.

I cooked chili and cornbread for dinner, and made a chocolate mousse cake for Uncle Steve (Aunt Sue's man)'s birthday. He's a truck driver, and is on the road, so we wanted to have a party for him and Aunt Sue. And I wanted chocolate cake... hehe.

The kids were quite frisky today. So at 6:30pm, we decided to take the kids to the neighborhood park. Oh yeah, they needed it. They played and had fun and even had friends there.
Why on earth he decided to wear a long sleeve shirt, I don't know...
Eme
Ella is SO cute!

Maddie pushing Lily on the swing. And Joe in the baby swing. ha!

I sat on the little alligator/dinosaur thing, and darn near fell off. hehe.
We stayed for about an hour, and headed back home. And put all the little kids to bed. Ella and Lily upstairs, and Joe and Jim downstairs. Jake and Tom and Eme watched part of a movie, and Aunt Sue and Maddie and I called Mom and worked on figuring out a schedule for Aunt Sue to fly home. We decided on Sat the 2oth. Mom could go to the airport that day, and the tickets were still cheap-ish. The ones for the Saturday before went up $50-80...

We put the big kids to bed at 9pm, and the grown ups watched The Proposal. I LOVE that show. My Aunt hadn't seen it yet. Here it is, 9:20pm, and I'm gonna turn this off and watch the movie. Should be a good time. hehe.

Jake goes to Purple Camp at 8:30am tomorrow morning. He's all packed and ready to go. The rest of the kids (minus Lily) are going to Vacation Bible School in the morning at 9am. The bus comes to pick them up, even! hehe. The grown ups are going to the East Side Savers then Olive Garden. Oh yeah, fun and exciting times tomorrow!!!
