Son/Sun Shine

OK, I just want you all to know how organized and prepared I am (LMBO!!!!!). Well, TODAY anyway :) ha! I am writing this part of the post on last Sunday! Yep, that's right - I got a TON of WordArt requests done all at once, and now I'll have more designing time during the week. Well, that's the theory at least - lol! Funny how even with the best laid plans, life gets in the way. Pesky life! Ha!

Fast forward to present time - ha! Gotta love Blogger's pre-publish thing! The kids and I watched a FABULOUS movie last night. "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium". Who knew it was gonna be so good! It was a bit weird at the beginning, but turned out to be a GREAT show. We rented it at the RedBox in our local Wal-mart. It just came in last week. RedBox is cool, by the way. Give it a try if you've got one near you!!!

This WordArt request is for Carrie, who thought it would be good for boys and summer. Well, I know there's some of you out there who don't have boys, so I made a "sun" one too! Now everyone's happy!

Tiny Hands Forever

OK, bear with me here:) I just had to share some Before/After pictures from this diet that my hubby and I have been on for the last 8 weeks or so. It's really working well.

Wow, I can't believe I'm posting this "before" pic of us. These were taken on in North Carolina at my in-laws house on Christmas of 2007. Just 7 months ago. Wow! Captain America was weighing 255 lbs, and I was...um...do I post my weight? OK, just keep in mind that I'm 5'8", and hold my weight well (LOL!). I was 194 lbs.

And these were taken yesterday, at an activity we took the kids to. The Columbus, Ohio zoo had a zoo keeper and a few animals come and do a presentation to the kids in the area. It was really neat. Anyway, here we are now. Captain America is weighing 204 lbs (WOW!!!), and I am 166 lbs (I'm pretty thin at 155). I'm getting close to my goal, and I"m pretty excited :) In case you're interested, we're doing the "1st Personal Diet" by Dr. Cohen. It's very exacting, and a bit costly, but IT WORKS!!! and that's the important part :)

OK, back to WordArt :) Now before you start with the requests (lol!), this is all I'm doing - There's one for grandma, grandpa, mom, and dad. You can make it work - LMBO!!! This WordArt request is from Jana. Don't you just love how it turned out? (wow, that sounded vain - oops :)

2 Collaboration Kits

Yeah! I have 2 new Collab Kits hitting the store this Friday (but again, you can get it early here!!!).

This first one is using Ellie Lash's She Dreams kit (available currently at scraporchard). Isn't it fabulous! She does amazing work. The WordArt is dream themed. AND, it's on sale till next week :)

This one is done using Ziggle Design's Good Night(releasing this Friday at Scraporchard). What a sweet kit! It was a TON of fun to work with - lots of fun textures!!!

Seize the Moment

Well, we're 1/2 way through the week already (have you noticed that the older we get, the faster time seems to go - holy cow!). I'm hoping to have a nice relaxing day at home today. Walking to the library with the kids at lunchtime, and designing in the afternoon. What could be better :) Don't you just LOVE summer!!!

Oh yeah, and make sure you check out my new Elegant WordArt by Bethany @ Scraporchard blinkie! Alice did a FABULOUS job on it. Isn't it pretty :)

WordArt Wednesday, yet again! Aren't you excited (OK, so maybe not so much with the excitement - lol!) But, it is a COOL WordArt :)

Ha! I even spelled seize right :) lol! I first had it sieze, and i just knew that something was wrong - hehehe. I thought that it turned out pretty well :) This request is from Tina. What a great saying!!! Lovin' it :)

New Kits!!!

Thanks so much to ALL of you who gave such WONDERFUL suggestions for the name of my new kit. I decided to go with "Life's Lessons", suggested by :

April,
Laraine,
and KW

You three are the winners :) LOVIN' the name! I'll have to remember to ask ya'll when I get in a bind again! You guys rock!!!

So, here are a few of my new WordArt packs for this week (yep, what with my hubby being gone and all, I put all my "sad" energy into designing - yeah!). I may have a collab with Kami of Ziggle Designs, and one with Ellie Lash done before the Wed. night deadline too! Wow, that would be 5 for this week :) I'm on a roll - lol!

As always, the release in the Orchard on Friday, but because I LIKE YOU ALL so much, you can pick them up early (and on sale for 20% off) here!

And, in case you were wondering, yes, my hubby did make it home last night. Not till about 10:35 or so, but he did make it home. We had a fun day together with the kids, even went to the park for a bit. But, he had to leave at 4:30pm to go on another overnight trip. Man! This one is only till tomorrow evening though. That's more do-able! LOL :)

Living With Children

So, as I'm writing this post, it's Monday night at 10:35pm, and my hubby is STILL NOT HOME from his trip. I've been waiting all day for him to come home, and he's STILL NOT HERE! OK, I'm done being home alone :) I think I'll take tomorrow off :) Ha!

This WordArt request comes from Kristen. Yes, this is true - I can DEFINITELY attest to it :) Boy, are the days long sometimes, but I sure wouldn't trade it for the world. I DEARLY love all 5 of my children, and am so glad and blessed that they are in my life.

Name My New WordArt Pack, AND WIN!!!

OK, you guys, I need your help :) I have this AWESOME new WordArt pack hitting the Orchard on Friday (and yeah, I'm gonna post it here early), but I don't have a name for it. All my other WordArt packs were easy to name, but I'm having a hard time coming up with this one.

So, I want you guys to come up with a name for my WordArt pack. ______ WordArt Pack. Hmmmm, wonder what it will be? Just leave a comment here to name it, and I'll look over them, and pick my favorite on Wednesday. And, that lucky (and creative) person will WIN THIS WORDART PACK! Aren't you excited to play!!!

So get your creative juices flowing, and have at it :)

WordArt Drawing Winner!!!

OK, it's time to announce the winner of my "buy a wordart pack and be entered into a drawing" contest (yeah, surely there's a better name for it that THAT!). The winner of the $5.00 coupon to my store is......

Darci!!! Way to go, girl!

And, because my hubby is coming home today, and I'm in a good mood (LOL), I'm giving away 2 $2.50 coupons to my store too! And, those winners are......

Jennifer from Texas - and
Linda from Niagara Falls

I'm emailing you guys with your coupons!!! Thanks for playing, you guys :)

Know You Care

Hi again! Did we all survive the weekend? We faired well at our house :) Just a nice relaxing time - nothing too stressful - And, I managed to keep up with most of the housework. If any of you knew me in real life, you'd know what an accomplishment that was! LOL :) AND, my hubby may be coming home TONIGHT!!!!!!!!! (can you tell I'm excited!!!)

This WordArt request is from Kittie. And how true it is :) Especially as a parent, I think. We need to remember that our children are little people, just like us. They want to know that someone loves them most, and once they feel that way, they'll be much more apt to listen to what we tell them :)

Something To Say

What a nice, relaxing Saturday we had. We didn't really do anything, but it was very enjoyable :) Since Doctor Who is our ALL TIME FAVORITE TV SHOW, the boys and I thought it would be fun to make a banner/blinkie thing with all the villans, and then the doctor at the end. It's over under my other blinkies. That took all morning to make, though. The boys LOVED it! It really was a good "big kid" project with mom :)

We watched the Spiderwick Chronicles this evening. It was pretty good! I'd definitely watch it again :) But then again, I'm a HUGE sci-fi/fantasy fan, so this was right up my alley :) All in all, it was a GREAT day :)

This WordArt request is from Nicole - I hope you don't mind that I changed it a bit. I thought that this made the wordart stronger. Artistic license, i guess :) lol! Nicole wanted it for her son who is non-verbal and has cerebral palsy. I thought that it would also be good for little children, before they can talk. Or for teens "too cool" to talk. Lots of possibilities, really :)

Children Readers

So, how was your 4th of July? It's my 1st 4th of July without my hubby in 12 years of marriage :( So sad. But, he is having a TON of fun at his Civil War Reenactment! Get those Yankee's, sweetheart! LOL :)

We had fun at our church picnic. Because our building is so small (the new one is being built, and should be done in the fall/winter), we met at a members home, and had a BBQ and the kids played on the homemade slip and slide. They connected 3 tarps together (on a hill), and the kids took turns running and sliding down the hill. Even a few of the grown-up and older boys got involved. It was SO much fun to watch the kids! They were having a blast. It didn't even matter that it was raining - lol! 80 and raining is still PERFECT weather to play in the slip and slide - ha!

No fireworks for us, though. I decided to just bring the kids home and put them in bed. I've been staying up WAY too late, so I'm gonna try and get to bed early tonight. Need to recharge my "super mom" powers - LMBO!!!

This WordArt request is from Monica, who wanted something to use on a layout about reading. I found this quote, and just LOVED it! Hope you like it too!!! This will be perfect for the summer reading programs at your local library, don't you think?!!!

Freedom

I just LOVE the 4th of July!!! I think mostly because I LOVE my country. I'm so grateful for my freedoms, for this beautiful land, for all the peace and prosperity that my family and I enjoy living here.

Here's a movie that I made for my son Jacob's Cub Scout Arrow of Light crossover ceremony. It's all about our great country! Hope you like it :) If for some reason this doesn't work, click here to go to my personal blog and watch the video.

And, on to WordArt :) I made this WordArt back over Spring Break in St. Louis. It's the first part of the Declaration of Independence. Gotta love Thomas Jefferson. What an inspired document!!!

I just recently discovered your blog and am glad I did. Your word art is great!
Good luck alone with the kids - I know what it's like - first it was shift work, then it was out-of-town. Usually only 3 days or so, but it has been as much as 36 days (and who's counting? - lol)

Small

Thanks so much to ALL of you who left me love yesterday! I SO appreciate it :) I'll pick someone later today to win my WordArt prize for leaving me love back on that post - You guys are awesome :) My hubby called last night to say that he'd got to Gettysburg safe and sound, and was taking lots of pictures for me - Good man :)

We had a nice day yesterday, went to the library (for the summer lunch program), checked out a few books and movies, played in the pool (well, they did), designed (yep, that was me!), and I actually cleaned! Cleaning's really not my thing, as much as I'd like it to be. I have friends who keep their houses spotless, and I'm not quite sure how they do it. Oh well, we're all good at something, and housework just doesn't happen to be mine. I bet my clean friends can't make a WordArt - lmbo!!!

This WordArt request if from Starla, and I thought it turned out really cute :) Click on the image below to go to my 4shared account to download the PNG file, and leave some love if you like my work.

Every Time You Smile

So, this 4th of July, my hubby gets to go and be part of the 145th Year Gettysburg Civil War Reenactment. He's SO excited! I've been busy helping him get the last minute sewing things done. On Friday, I made him a quilt, and Sunday evening, we worked on shrinking his pants (yep, he's lost 45 lbs since xmas time!!!), and fixing a collar on his shell jacket. Aren't I a nice wife (good thing he couldn't hear me talking to myself inside and wishing i was designing - LOL!)

This wordArt request comes from Trina - What a WONDERFUL saying this is :) Hope you like it! I thought it turned out pretty good!

Road of Life

So, did you all like the patriotic stuff from yesterday? I had SO much fun making it :) Well, I got a little carried away with today's freebie too! LOL :) Back for the Scraporchard June Collab, I tried to make some bugs from a TUT, and it took me like 3 hours to make 'em. They've been sitting on my 'puter ever since. Well, when Mags requested this quote, I thought that the little buggies might be great on the WordArt. Then, I thought that I might as well GIVE you the bugs. Then, I thought that some nice papers, the same colors as the bugs, would be even better. So, it kind of evolved into a "mini" kit thingy.
