Close to your Soul

Morning, chicas! How's everyone doing? Me? I'm real good! It was a great day back. I tried to take it easy. Really, I did. hehe. OK, so maybe I didn't accomplish "taking it easy", but I did attempt it :)

I woke up 10 minutes early to make sure I had enough time for scriptures and prayers. Well, I got the prayers part in. I was sleepy and ended up checking texts on my phone. hehe. BUT, I did get the prayer in. And that's HUGE for me :) It made me feel good, though.

I even went out and made blueberry muffins for the kids for breakfast! I know, so much for taking it easy :) I found some trail mixes in my purse, and yeah, I'm not eating those anymore! After only eating those for 2 weeks, I'm done with trail mix. I'll stick to real food. So I divided them up for the kids, along with the muffins, and that was breakfast.

We had prayer, and got kids ready, and sent them out to the bus at 7:30am. Captain America came home 30 seconds after family prayer. Oops. Tomorrow... We hung out for a bit, then Jimmy and I headed out around 8:30am for the store.

I had a HUGE Walmart list, plus needed to go and pick up my meds at Walgreens, plus wanted to hit Big Lots and Savers. And all before 10:50am for Jimmys bus. I had high hopes :)

Here's me, ready for my day :) No shower for me, because I'd given my conditioner to Valincia, one of my friends from the hospital, cause she didn't have any. Hope you like it, girl :) Anyway, now I need to go to Walmart and buy some more conditioner.

We went and picked up Hilary, and she came to do errands with us. First, to the pharmacy. Yeah, my truck was SO loud that I totally had to turn it off when I stopped at the drive thru. hehe. Don't hate on the truck. I LOVE it so :)

Next, we drove across town to Savers. It was silver tag day, and yeah, there were a TON of silver tags when it was blue tag day. Hmmm, I'm thinking they go in and switch the colors of the tags the night before... I know there was a TON of orange tags today... Seems a bit fishy...

I did try on a pair of 5/6 jeans, and they were HUGE. Yeah, must have ran big, because I'm between a 6 and a 7. Made me smile, none the less. Not that I want to lose any more weight. Cause I don't. I'm good at this weight. Maybe even a few lbs heavier (gasp!). I was 129lbs when I was committed, and I'm now 132. 135 would be good for me, I think. But I'm not gonna go rushing it or anything :)

Anyway, I did find a cream sweater for $0.99, and a Columbia coat for only $5.99, and a REALLY cute cream coat for $5.99. I got a few more insulated lunch bags, and a little bag of toys for Jimmy, and called it good for the day. And yeah, that was all the time we had.

See, cute coat, huh? I LOVED it :)

I dropped Jimmy off at school, cause we'd just missed the bus, then dropped Hilary back off at her house, then headed home. Captain America got there a few minutes before me for lunch! It was so nice to hang out with him during lunch :)

We were gonna take our trailer back over to Captain America's buddy Joe's house, but he got called back in for a meeting, so we turned back around and left the truck and trailer hooked up in front of our house.

Hilary and I went to Walmart and Sams after lunch, then back to pick up Jimmy from the bus. I even managed to get all the things on my list.

Kids had after school school snack, and I went to lay down for a while, cause I was tired. Yeah, I didn't sleep, but I did rest. And the kids were SO loud out there. Sigh. Yeah, I wasn't ready for that part. All the fighting and bickering was wearing on me. :( But they're just kids, right?

I decided to put on some PINK!

At 5:45pm, we headed over to the Nouhans house for dinner. We had pot roast and salad, and the kids had corn and mashed potatoes. Jannie's b-day was on Saturday, and tonight was her birthday dinner. They also had ice cream and brownies, which looked really good, but I resisted.

Captain America came a little after 7pm, and we went home around 7:45pm. I think everyone had fun. I drove Captain Americas car home with the little kids, and Captain America took the big ones and dropped off the trailer at Joe's house, got a part for his truck, then came back home.

I'd gotten the kids in bed, and was working on my blog. It's now 10:06pm, and I'm feeling really sleepy. Captain Americas worried that I'm doing too much too soon. And wants me to take the rest of the week off from playing. And yeah, while I can see his point, I really do like playing. It makes me happy. Maybe my friends can come and visit me if I'm at home resting??? hehe.

Bethany, it's wonderful to see you back. As a tip from someone who's been there, just take things one day at a time. It will get better but you have to be patient. Good luck!

Love the word art today. So happy to see you home and on the road to recovery. The road is long which is why everyone is asking that you slow down and pace yourself.

Hey there girl! I love you in yellow... I wish I could pull it off, it's such a fun color! :)
I'm not gonna warn you not to overdo it, but I will say, listen to your heart & body. They will tell you when it's time to sit for a bit. When I heard the news about the shooting, you jumped in my mind right away. It hits too close to home for me, you know? We were out there for a year and lived through the shootings here @ Hood... :/ It breaks my heart!

I think that Brent's right ... take it easy for a little.

But the idea of having your friends over to play is an excellent idea. ^_^

And good for you, getting started with the prayer right away! Kudos!

Bethany,

Please listen to your husband and take it easy. You are trying to do too much too soon. I know you think you are ready but remember that your husband and children need you to be healthy spiritually and physically. I think it would be a great plan for your friends to visit you right now. Take it easy girl from someone who cares and understands. Laugh, Live and Love and enjoy your life each day one at a time, don't rush it. You can do things tomorrow.

Hey there Bethany,

Welcome back sweet girl!! I love the sentiment of today's word art, so thank you for sharing it with us.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to parrot what others here have said. I hope you will slow your life down a bit and take care of you. Savor your days. Cherish the quiet moments and enfold yourself in them. Be refreshed and healed.

Bethany,
Glad that you are back home an feeling better but to sound like an echo of all the other comments, please remember to slow down and take some time for yourself to not have to run around and get everything done "today". Don't be afraid to reach out to your friends for help if you are feeling overwhelmed, as it sounds like you have a great support circle of them.
