Swing Batter Batter

Hi everyone :) Hope your Tuesday was good. It felt like my Monday, since Captain America didn't have to work yesterday. Anyway, it was a good day.

Woke up at 7:20am (dang, I don't like waking up to an alarm - hehe), got ready, and Eme and I were out the door at 8:15am. We drove across town to the Dentist. She needed 2 teeth fixed, something like pulmonoty (but not that), then a silver crown on top of it instead of a filling. I don't know, it was the cheaper option. Then they pulled a tooth that had an infection under it and was nasty, and sealed her teeth. Yeah, it was a lot of stuff. And they gave her gas, so that was an extra cost too. All told, it was almost $240. Spendy...

So when they brought her back out front, she was pretty lethargic. Poor girl. The gas made her a bit loopy. The lady told me that she'd be that way for a while, that it was a perfectly normal reaction, and that I'd have to help her walk to the car and such. That it would last for a few hours. I thought she was exaggerating. Yeah, no. She was serious - hehehe.

Here's me in the car on the way home. I'd got Eme into the car, buckled, and she was eating her ice cream and was just fine.

So we come thru the gate, and she's a bit low in her seat, but she's fine. A little out of it. So 3 minutes later when I pull into the driveway, this is how I find her. Whaaaaaaat? Seriously? I don't know what she was trying to do, but this is how I found her.

Poor thing didn't know what was going on. I helped her to my room, laid her down in my bed, and put on a movie for her. She stayed in there the rest of the morning, and until the afternoon when the drugs wore off. hehehe.

So Jake volunteered to stay home with Eme so that we could go to free lunch. Mostly, I think he wanted to work on his Model. hehehe. We got Eme set up with a movie, and some popcicles, and Tom, Jim, Joe and I headed out. We brought Captain Americas lunch, and met him at Free lunch. The kids had salad and pizza and oranges and milk.

After that, we went with Captain America to Military Clothing Supply store, where he got a new soft cap for his uniform, and some rank. We drove home, and he went back to work.

We spent a bit of time at home, then took part of the kids to the pool. We stayed for just a little while, but I didn't get in. I chatted wit Kari for a while, then with Danielle when she came. I think the kids had fun. I stayed in the shade the whole time, since I'd gotten burned the day before.

Back home again, and I sat down with the kids to watch a movie in the living room. I designed 2 WordArt packs, and organized some files on my laptop.

After that, I fixed dinner for the kids, and for myself. I'd defrosted chicken a few days ago, and it needed cooked. I made Kabobs, enough for 4 dinners for me.

But I knew they wouldn't last that long. And, we had some left over pasta salad from 4th of July, and I knew the kids wouldn't eat it fast enough. So I took a Kabob and the salad down to Andreas house. I stayed a chatted for a few minutes with her, then Captain America swung by and picked me up on his way home from work.

We went home and hung with the kids for a bit, then at bedtime for the little kids, Captain America and I headed to his softball game. The other team didn't show up for some reason, so they just played a scrimmage with another team that was there. I think Captain America's team won 32-3. It was kinda fun to watch, though.

Here's Captain America batting with the Red hat on...

After about an hour, we headed home. Captain America played Wii baseball with the kids who were still awake (everyone but Joe - hehehe), and here we are. It's 9:38 pm, and I'm gonna design a quick freebie, post it, and head to bed. I'm sleepy. I need my beauty sleep, you know - LOL!

Bestest Friends

Hey guys and gals! Well, my last day of vacation with my hubby is at an end :( But, it sure was a great day :)

Woke up at around 9am (last day of sleeping in, too, I'm sure - hehehe), got the kids breakfast, got myself breakfast, and hung with my hubby and kids for a while on the back porch.

We got ready and headed to free lunch at 11:00am, but it was closed, from the holiday. So we drove to Little Ceasears, got 2 $5.00 pizzas, and headed to the pool. But first made a Circle K run :)

It was pool break when we got there, so the kids ate. Captain America and I went down the slide a few times, played with the kids in the pool for a bit, then laid out and got dry. I was freezing - hehehe.

After the pool, we swung by the gas station and filled up or little gas can for the lawn mower, then went home. He mowed the grass, and I trimmed the weeds by the wall. I raked, and he trimmed by the wall more. We made a good team.

We folded some laundry, helped kids with some chores, and the afternoon was gone :) Funny how fast time slips by. At around 4pm, Captain America and I headed out on a date. We had food already made at home for the kids, and left Jacob with instructions.

First, he and I went on another Circle K run. Mmmm, Diet Dr Pepper is tasty :) Next, we went to Bassett Center, and walked around for a bit. I ended up with a few new shirts and some new dollar jewelry.

Next, it was on to BJ's for dinner. I just love their roasted chicken. Captain America got a Sante Fe salad. It was SOOO good :)

Next, we went to Fallas, and Big Lots, were we found a few other things. I got a few bikini's. Now, I won't wear it in public without a tank top over it. First, because our church councils us not to wear 2 piece bathing suits, and second, because after 5 children, my stomach is full of loose, stretched out skin, and no one wants to see that. But with a long tank over it? It looks ok :)

I found a pink and white one, a teal one, and a pink and teal one. With a teal/purple tank, a pink/purple tank, and a white tank. So, I got 3 new swim suits for $21. That's not a bad price at all. hehehe.

Here's a few pics of Captain America and I from our date :)

Its now just after midnight, and I'm ready for bed. I've gotta get up around 7am tomorrow to get myself and Emeline ready for her dentist appointment. ALL the way over on the West side. About a 30 minute drive. So, night!

4th of July

typo fixed...

Happy Monday :) Any of you guys still on vacation? I know we in the army got both Friday AND Monday off. Which is nice :)

We were up at 7:30am, getting ready for church. We were only 2 minutes late, but they started late, so it was all good :) So technically we made it in time - hehehe.

I got released as Primary Singing Time leader, so I'm getting a break from callings for a while. That's always a nice break. Never lasts long term, but it's a nice break - lol.

I got to go to Adult Sunday School class, where we talked about King David, and resisting temptation. About how when you're not doing the little things, spiritually, that you're supposed to be doing (scripture study, personal prayer, family prayer, etc), that it's easy to get your head in a fog and not recognize the promptings of the spirit, designed to keep you safe from the influence of Satan. It was a good lesson.

In Relief Society, we talked about sharing what we believe with others, and not to be afraid of sharing. People we would potentially share with are your friends, and won't be offended if we offer to share what we know with them.

After church, we came home, and got lunch started. I baked a Pineapple Upside Down cake, and when it was all finished, we headed over to some friends of Captain Americas for dinner. They're all from the south, and they made what they called "Low Country Bowl". It was, basically, a big pot of food. Corn, potatoes, onions, shrimp, 3 different sausages, spices. They boiled it all up, drained off the water, and served it. It was pretty good!

I could eat some of the onions, and some sausage, and the shrimp. I got some salad too, and counted that as my dinner. We visited, and the kids played, then we came back home.

Captain America and I took a nap when we got home, and the kids watched a quite movie. We woke up at 7pm, got the kids a snack, cleaned up, and sat down to watch "Independence Day", cause it's Independence day - hehehe. We're not going to fireworks, because I don't wanna crowd control - lol. Last year, the church had a picnic and watched fireworks, but not this year. Next year :)

So, because yesterday was 4th of July, and yesterday I had a Religious WordArt, I wanted to do a general "4th of July" wordart for today :) Enjoy!

OK, so I'm blogging and designing from my old laptop, not my new one, so I don't have my correct packaging. I'm sure you'll forgive me, just this once, right? hehehe.

Liberty

Happy Sunday, all :) How was your Saturday? Mine was great :) I got to spend it with my hubby! We slept in, then got up and helped the kids make French Toast. Mmmm, it smelled yummy, but I stuck with my yogurt and apples :)

We got ready and went to the pool around noon-ish. We really had a fun time there. Jimmy and Joe came with us into the big pool, without lifejackets, and practiced swimming. During pool Break, Captain America and I went down the big water slide, and his buddy Justin, from work, and his wife, were there, so we water slided with them too.

We were at the pool for about an hour, then came home. After lunch, Captain America and Tom went over to work on the truck for 3 hours, and Jake, Jim, Joe, Eme and I stayed home. We watched a movie, "Get Smart", and I designed for about an hour. We did some chores, and I took a shower and got ready for the evening.

Captain America was home about 30 minutes before he planned to be (woohoo!), we fed dinner to the kids, got them close to bed, then went out for a 2nd date nite in a row. I"m gonna get spoiled - hehehe.

First, we went to dinner at El Taco Tote. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE their Brochetta plate. Steak. On salad. Divine!

After dinner, we went to Ross. I found a new black Sunday skirt. Mine that I'd been wearing was getting too big. I think I'd worn it pregnant, if that gives you any indication. hehe. This new one is a size 6. I was pretty excited. Sure, it was a 6 in womens, so it's a little bigger than a normal 6, but still. It says 6. LOL!

And a new shirt, too. And a few new bras, and some unmentionables. Yeah, I'm getting spoiled, I'm telling ya :) Captain America decided to be my shopping buddy. hehe. He walked around after me, carrying my things, waiting outside the changing room, helping me find things that looked nice. Really, it was very sweet :) And I enjoyed every minute of it - hehehe. It's been a long time since he's been shopping with me, and that we both had that much fun.

After Ross, we headed to the mall. We went to Old Navy, and Gap, and Victoria's Secret, and a few other stores. Didn't buy anything, but had fun window shopping. After the mall, we wanted to go to a movie. And Circle K to get a drink. But we didn't have time to get a drink before the movie started, so we adjusted our plan.

We drove across town, went to Circle K, went to Walmart, THEN went to a later movie. It was a good plan :) We found insulated mugs at Circle K for $4, with the first refill free. So we bought them :) Now we have cool cups for our $0.79 drinks. hehehe.

I had to buy more make up at Walmart since I lost the stuff I bought last night. Sigh. If it turns up, then I'll just have double, I guess.... grrr. We got some stuff for a 4th of July BBQ we're going to after church tomorrow. I'm gonna make a pineapple upside down cake to bring.

After Walmart, we hurried to the theater, and we watched Grown Ups. I thought it was SOO funny :) Good movie :) Not for kids, but SUPER funny :)

We came home after the movie, and here it is 2:33am. Yeah, how does the time escape me so fast. If I went to be RIGHT now, I'd get 5 hours. So I think I'm gonna go to bed right now - hehehe.

Smile for the Camera

Morning, all! Hope the beginning of your weekend was a great one :) It's been nice having Captain America around lately! I could get used to this - hehehe.

We got to sleep in, then spent a lazy morning at home with the kids. We went to Free Lunch at noon-ish, then the afternoon at home again. At 3ish, Captain America took Tom and went to put in a few hours on his Truck, and I got ready and went grocery shopping. I'd been a few times since I got home from my trip, but only got just a few days worth of items. I really liked buying everything I need for a week, so it felt good to go and get it all done today.

But it was REALLY busy at the commissary. Because it was so close to both payday AND 4th of July, I think. It was crowded, and the shelves weren't well stocked, but I got the things that I needed.

I came home, put away groceries, and cooked dinner for the kids. Pork steaks, mashed potatoes, and green beans. AND we sat at the table together to eat. I was nice.

Captain America and Tom got home at 6:30pm, ate dinner, and then Captain America and I got ready for our date. We're starting Family Scripture reading and family prayer with the kids again (we'd been bad about doing it for WAY too long - time to refocus), and it was really nice to spend that time together.

We put the kids to bed, and Captain America and I headed out. We went to see that new show, "Knight and Day" with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. It was pretty good. I enjoy her. He's looking pretty old - hehehe.

It was nice to spend some time with just Captain America :) After the movie, we went to Walmart and got a few essentials. Like new foundation. Cause my other one was WAY too white. Made me look pastey, and pastey is NOT the look I'm going for. And new hair clippers for Captain America. Cause the old ones are cutting his head. Hair, good, cutting head, bad. hehehe. So hopefully this one will last for a while :)

After Walmart, we stopped at Circle K for a drink (Diet Dr Pepper, you know), then headed home. The MP's were out in force at the gate, looking for insurance and drivers licenses, and drunks. hehehe. You'd think it was 4th of July weekend or something....

Here it is, 12:52pm, and I'm exhausted. I need to design something for y'all, and go to bed. So I can wake up and take my family to the pool. Cause it's fun to go to the pool, you know - hehe.

Excitement and Intrigue

Howdy, all! It was a big day in the Harty Household today :) Captain America was promoted at work! I got to go and, um, I don't know what it's called. hehe. I took off the old rank, and put on the new rank. It was pretty cool, actually!

The ceremony started at 8:45am. They did flags, and National Anthem, then promoted the officers, then the enlisted, then passed out awards. The whole thing took only about 45 minutes. It was a nice ceremony. And only 2 guys passed out in formation. hehehe. Poor guys. They always forget to NOT lock their knees when they stand :)

Here's some pics from the Morning.

The 4th dude saluting in that line is Captain America:) This is when they're taking the oath of an officer.

The dude in the background is the new BTN XO. Apparently he's pretty funny.....

After the ceremony, I swung by the Military Clothing supply store to get a berret pin for Captain Americas hat. The one I picked up yesterday wasn't for berrets. It was for the field cap. So, I grabbed one, and headed back to the Motorpool, where Captain America was. I dropped it off, and headed to the commissary for just a few essentials.

Back home, I had the kids do chores, and we got ready for Free Lunch. Captain America came home at 11:45am, we cooked lunch for him, and me, and took it with us, and we all headed to Free Lunch. It was really nice going together. The kids ate Chili, tortillas, and tater tots, with milk and watermelon, and LOVED it :)

We dropped the kids off at home, and Captain America and I went to Circle K for a soda, then he dropped me off at home, then went back to work. I made sure the kids were happy and all set up at home, and I took a nap. It was only an hour and thirty minutes, but it sure felt good. I'd been working on only 4 hours each for the past few nights. Sigh. A nap was good :)

Captain America was home early, too! At 3:15pm, he came home :) He's supposed to be off early on Thursdays, since it's Family Day, but since his XO job was SO demanding, it never happened. He's only subbing as XO until the new chickie gets off maternity leave, so he was able to leave on time! I was excited :)

We spent the evening at home with the kids. We cooked dinner, and ate, and had to run to church real fast for a meeting, but it only lasted for about an hour, then were back home. We played a quick round of Phase 10 with the kids, which they really enjoyed. We all sat at the table together, and talked about what we wanted to do over this 4 day weekend together. The kids all picked out things they wanted to do with just their dad. It was really sweet :)

Captain America and I spent the rest of the evening together. It was really nice just to stay home, and be together as a family. I really enjoyed it :)

I'm Sorry

Any second now, my hubby is gonna text me to come and pick him up from the airport.....any second now...... It's 11:21pm. And his connecting flight out of Dallas was pushed back by about 20 minutes. He was supposed to get in here at 11:05pm. ANY TIME NOW.... hehehe.

I don't know if I have time to properly blog the day, so I'll do some highlights. We skipped free lunch today. First time all summer, I think :) We stayed home instead. I did have a few errands to run, and I did do a Sonic run with a friend. I had to fax over some papers for Jakes homeschool, and I had to go to the Military Clothing supply store and buy a few things for Captain Americas uniform, but that was all for during the day. We just spent the day relaxing at home.

In the evening, I had a primary scouts meeting, but no scout meetings for the boys. I went to Leslies in the evening after the mtg and she cut Karin's hair, and we chatted for a bit. Then home, clean the house, and wait. Maybe I'll just drive up there, so I have something to do to take my mind off the fact that he should be texting me, literally, any second....
