Memories Dreams Precious

Morning, you guys! How was your day? Fabulous, I hope! I woke up at normal time, and got the kids ready for school. And since Jim was still asleep when the kids all left for the bus, yeah, I totally went back to bed. He and I got up a little after 8am. Gotta love sleeping in, right?

And I started cleaning. I did some dishes, and swept, and straightened up, and organized. And my house looked pretty good by around 9:45am. And I decided that I should make myself presentable. I washed off the old make up, and put on some new make up. One of these days I'm gonna break down and shower. LOL!

And at around 10:20am, Leslie came over!!!! She looked FABULOUS, too! Hawaii looked good on her! hehe. We chatted until it was time to take Jim to the bus. And Laurie came over, and we all loaded up in her car, and dropped Jim off at the bus stop, then headed out to Leslie's favorite Chinese Restaurant in El Paso. Grand China Buffet and Mongolian Grill, off of Viscount. I've been to the one on the West side, but not this one. It's actually right next to my favorite Dollar Tree! Nice, huh?

And they had a HUGE amount of food on the buffet! And it all looked good. But we wanted the Mongolian grill. We picked out the veggies that we wanted, and the meats that we wanted, and the sauces that we wanted, and gave it to the dude to grill. SO good!

We went and got a few things from the buffet, then dessert of fruit. I was actually quite proud of myself for my food choices. No rice. No noodles. I did get a small stuffed mushroom, but didn't like it, so only ate one bite. And I tried some bacon wrapped chicken, but I didn't like it either, so I only had one bite. This shirmp stuff I had was extra yummy and spicy. I liked that. And I liked the chicken stuff I got. Just a tiny bit of each.

And I got melons and strawberries and grapes. And had a plate full of that. I was pretty proud of myself :) They had a TON of fried and breaded products that I avoided. Yeah me! AND, I ordered water. Can you believe it??? hehe.

We talked about food, and about how it's really the first few bites that are the best. After that, yeah, not so much. I'm gonna try and remember that. And if I don't really like something, then I'm not gonna eat it. That just doesn't make sense, right?

Leslie talked about how we save the best, or our favorite parts of the food for the last. And what happens if we're truly full by that point? We still eat it, right? So she said eat the best parts first, that way, if we're full, it'll be super easy to stop. Good point!

And I just HAD to take a picture of this sign.... Really?

After eating, we headed back to my house. It was awesome hearing Leslie's stories about Hawaii.

We sat in Laurie's car chatting for a while in my driveway, then she headed out to where she had to be next. Leslie and I came back inside and hung for another hour before I had to get Jim from the bus. And she headed off to play with another friend. She's SO wonderful! Thanks, Leslie, for coming and hanging with me!
John (her hubby) called from Hawaii

I picked Jim up from the bus stop, and he and I headed out to Dollar Tree. And as I started out, I saw Terra's van coming my way. With a HOWDY's! What a great friend, huh! hehe :) We did a little hand off, and Jim and I were off on our adventure. LOL.

Dollar Tree had a TON of sandwich rounds, so I got a few more for the freezer, and a bit of bread. And some stuff for Captain America's birthday box. And then popped over to CompUSA for another part of his present. I'd say what it is, but he's totally reading this. hehe :)

New store that opened up near Dollar Tree. Seriously?

And we headed back home. I just HAD to snap this picture. I still get excited when I see military vehicles and guys and such. LOL!

I got home JUST as the kids did from the bus. Perfect timing ,right? And I was ready to sit down and relax for the evening. And Eme showed me her glasses. Broken. Dang. She'd stepped on them, and the stem had broken off. And then she'd lost it. Nice. A trip to Walmart Vision center was in order...

So I left Tom in charge (Jake was at the Teen Center again), and Eme and I headed out. And thankfully, they had the exact same frames there still, and they just changed them out. And the frames only cost $9. Can't beat that, right?

And since I now didn't have time to cook anything real for dinner, we bought fish sticks and fries from Walmart. And texted and had Tom turn on the oven. And I grabbed a few make up essentials. I wanted a lipstick "sharpie" like Terra had - hehe :)

We headed home, and got dinner done. And before I knew it, it was time to pick up Jake from the Teen Center. Jim and Joe wanted to ride along too, so we headed out. And got Jake and Zach, and back home we went.

I told the kids that if they got their rooms cleaned tonight, that they'd get an ice cream party tomorrow. And Joe and Jim and Eme worked real hard to get it clean. yeah, I don't think that was a motivator for Jake and Tom. hehe.

I worked on getting Captain America's package all ready, and baked some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. Yummy, huh?

Lucky Apron, AND I'm wearing a bandana- ha~
I put the little kids to bed at 8pm, and Jake and Tom and I watched an episode of Fringe. We're out of Chuck episodes. Dang! Here's Tom working on his homework.
I started blogging, and here it is, 10:13pm. One of these nights, I'm gonna blog WITHOUT Facebook open. It's SO distracting. And I guess I"ll have to put my phone away too, since it tells me when I have Facebook notices... hehe. I'm very distractable. Listening to the Glee soundtrack on my earphones and singing loudly to my favorite parts is kinda distracting too. I wonder if the rest of the house likes my "concert"? hehe.
