Icing on the Cake

So, I was thinking that I wasn't gonna go to church today. And then when I woke up and felt pretty good, and the kids seemed pretty good, I decided "why not?". I might as well go. I gave the kids some cold medicine, and we got to work.

Everyone found Sunday clothes, or passable Sunday clothes. My standards have slipped quite a bit. ha! We had breakfast, and headed out to church.

After Sacrament was passed, Captain America was on Skype, and I typed with him on my phone for a bit. And yeah, maybe not the best place to do it, but you've gotta take advantage of moments available, right?

After Sacrament meeting, the kids went off to class, and I went to the truck to chat with Captain America. Until my phone died. Crap. I headed back inside, with only a few minutes left of Sunday School. I saw Bishop in the hall, and he pulled me in to chat in his office.

He wanted to make sure that our family was doing ok, and to see if there was anything that he could do. He was gonna give us new Home Teachers, since the old ones had "dropped the ball". We've never had a home teaching visit. In the entire time we've been in the ward, and throughout Captain America's entire deployment. Throughout Jake's numerous "freakouts"... Yeah, a home teacher would have been nice...

I got a blessing, and Bishop said that he'd assign us new Home Teachers and that they'd come and give the kids blessings too. Sounded good to me! Then I headed back out, and went to Relief Society.

I left a few minutes early, before church got over, and went to talk with the Primary president. I needed to get the phone number for the boy in my Wolf Den. I wanted to move the time for our Den Meeting on Wednesday night. We needed a "field trip" of sorts. Go visit a place of historic importance.

Tom had an interview after church, and soon, we were on our way home. Kids and I had lunch after church, and we cleaned up for a bit. We relaxed most of the afternoon. I took a nap at one point, and we all watched an episode or 2 of Warehouse 13. I'm not sure what else we did.

I designed for a while, and the kids watched some Star Trek. It's now 7pm. It's about an hour till bed time. Not sure what we'll do for the next hour. I should clean. But yeah, that doesn't sound like much fun. I was supposed to go and visit Jake today after church, but I wasn't feeling up to it. Sometimes my Topomax interferes with my Prozac. And I feel a bit "down". I wonder if it's time to switch anti-depressants... It's not like I have a lot going on in my life right now or anything... hehe.

Great baking layout, Sharon! I've been meaning to make some cookies.

Growing up, a friend of my parents had a home cake business. When she finished a wedding cake, we would get to go over and decorate cupcakes to help get rid of the icing. I think we got rid of more icing than decorate cupcakes! This word art brought back the memories. Thank you.
