I'm In A Store

Wow, can you believe it! And it all happened yesterday :) Crazy, I know! But I think it's gonna be good! I'm so excited :)

Thanks so much to Carla, from Designing Moments, for offering me a space at her store. I uploaded my first WordArt kit today, and it's all ready to go.

So, what does this mean for my blog? Well, it'll still be here. And, they'll still be daily freebies. When I get a new kit for the store, I'll put a link on my blog to the store. All the freebies on my blog will stay freebies. Only new things created for the store will be for sale.

At present, I'm making 4 freebies a day for you all. Well, that may slow down a bit. Probably more like 2 per day. I'll still do requests, but it may take a bit longer to get them, what with only 2 WordArts per day. But, I'm so excited to try this. I think it'll be fun :)

So, below is my first WordArt kit available at Designing Moments. Drop by and check it out! Thanks!!

Baby's First Food

I thought that this would be adorable with all those pictures of baby eating solid food for the first time. I especially like the faces they make when they try something new and it's sour! Priceless! Hope you like this addition to the Baby's First Series!

Memories are...

This WordArt request comes from Shelley, I think. Maybe not. There were 2 requests left at the same time, on the same WordArt post, one by Shelley, and one by anonymous. I'm just assuming that the 2nd one is also from Shelley. If not, here it is, anonymous!!!

Best Chocolate

Oh, how true this is!!! Chocolate is the best. But, I don't like dark chocolate, and MILK chocolate is my favorite. You know what I haven't had in forever, is a Symphony bar. Those are to DIE for! Yummy :) Now I'm hungry, with all this talk of chocolate.

This WordArt request is for Tammy. Thanks!!!

Laugh Overflows

Reading this quote again, I realized that for some reason, I say overfloats. That's not even a word. hehehehe. This WordArt suggestion is from Tammy. Hopefully we all find something to laugh about today! Life is more fun when it's funny!!!

Wonderful Memories

This WordArt request is from Shelley. I think that it turned out ok, especially since it was kinda long. The more the words, the tricker it is to put together. I'm so glad that I'm a "simple pleasures" kinda girl! It sure makes life a lot more enjoyable!!!

Live and Find Meaning

This WordArt request is from Nancy. She has pictures of New Orleans after Katrina, of Ground Zero, and from the bridge collapse in Minnesota. She wanted a WordArt that would go with these terrible events, that would be appropriate for sorrow and tragedy. I think that this would work well. Trying to find the meaning in all of the bad that happens is how we "go on". Hope this works :)

Thanks so much, Nancy, for this great page. What a terrible tragedy it was. Our hearts go out to those families affected by this horrible event. I think your page shows the terrible event in a respectful way. Great job :)

Baby's First Word

Here's the 4th WordArt in the Baby's First Word series. Did your kids all say Dada first too? How rude :) I'm at home with the little tyke all day long, and he choose to say Dada. Hehehehe. It sure made my husband happy, though! And that there was worth it :)

Memory Treasure

This WordArt request comes from Melodie, who lost her Dad 4 years ago. I'm so sorry. I lost my grandfather about that same time, and I can only imagine how much worse it must be with your father. I hope that this WordArt will be nice on your pages that you are scrapping for your kids about your Dad.

Wish - Make It True

This WordArt request is from Bree. One of her favorite books is by the author of this quote, Richard Bach. She wanted one of his quotes made into a WordArt. I really liked this quote. I don't believe that we are given anything that we can't handle. I know that if we're given a task, then we'll also be given the way and means of accomplishing that task in life. The old saying, "That which does not kill us makes us stronger" definitely applies :)

Thanks so much to Bree, for sending in this layout! You did a wonderful job :) And what a great story you journaled about! The only thing we find injured by car's are raccoons, and I'm sure they're not as nice and friendly as kangaroos. That's AWESOME! Thanks so much for sharing!

Baby's First Outing

Here's the 3rd WordArt in the series: Baby's First. I can still remember taking my first child, Jacob, to Wal-Mart when he was only about 4 days old, walking around shopping. I know, it's sad when we get so much pleasure from Wal-Mart. Some may not like Wal-Mart, but I don't know how I ever got along without it!

Anyway, thought this would be good for those "firsts" of baby going someplace fun (more fun that Wal-Mart hopefully!). Hope you enjoy!

Busy Living Life

First off, thanks so much to Lois, who found a TON of great WordArt potential quotes for me in magazine she was looking through the other day. This is only one of about 10-15 awesome quotes or sayings that she found. So, THANK YOU!

I thought that this WordArt turned out quite well. And how true it is. Sometimes, I think I'm way too busy, and should just stop and enjoy where I am in life. Now, I don't work outside the home, but that doesn't mean that this quote can't apply to me too! Making a living means the things that we do, not the money that we earn. We shouldn't get so wrapped up in the "good" things that we do that we forget, or neglect, the "great" things that we could be doing!

Scrapbook

Ha! This one is awesome :) So funny. I say this, but about my blog. If it's not on the blog, it didn't happen. To true! It's bad when your 10 year old recognizes that this is SO TRUE about mom. hehehe.

Thanks to Tammy for the suggestion. It was perfect!!!

Greatest Gift

OK, I'm almost embarrassed to put this one out there. I didn't really like how it turned out, but couldn't fix it. Oh well. I guess you can't make every one of them "perfect". So, here it is. My husband wanted me to do this quote from a ....hmmm...some sports guy. Yeah, sorry Captain America. Was it basketball? And he's a coach, I know I got that much. Wow, I'm just flopping on this quote all around :) hehehe.

Soul is Wedded

Yeah, something for the Wedding Album! Wouldn't this be cute on a page of the bride and groom kissing! That would be awesome :)

Baby's First Smile

Here's the 2nd WordArt in the series "Baby's First....". Don't you just love it when babies start to smile. They're so CUTE!!!! I'm so glad that we have so many pictures of my kids when they were babies, since we're out of the "having babies" years. :)

Honesty, Sincerity, Integrity

This WordArt suggestion comes from "secret secret". It's really a nice saying, isn't it. Imagine if everyone followed these 3 simple things. How much better would the world be!

Live, Laugh, Love

I really liked this quote, mostly because my Mom used to sign her letters to me in College with something similar. Love,....laughter.....don't remember. But it was nice, and this reminds me of that :) hehehehe.

Heavens Existence

I've always liked this quote. Doesn't it just make you feel good! I can think of several applications for this WordArt, but baby pictures come to mind first. Funny, but food pictures come to mind second! Ha! Can you tell that I'm dieting!

All Played Out

This WordArt suggestion comes from Nancy, who wanted to make a page of her two boys, who played so hard that they fell asleep in goofy positions. I know I've been that tired! And, my kids do that frequently. In fact, now that I think of it, I have picture of my 2 year old (then 1 or so) who fell asleep in his Daddy's work chair. Silly kid!

Bedhead Perfected

This WordArt suggestion comes from Trina. I thought the idea was hilarious! I know that I have a ton of pictures of myself like this, but I don't really want to make a page of myself with bad hair! hehehehe. Kids are much better targets....er.....subjects.

Sugar Rush

So in honor of the Post-Easter holiday, where little children are maxed out on candy, here's my latest WordArt. The Easter Bunny comes on Saturday at our house, and my kids had WAY too much candy. And we didn't even buy that much! I asked the Easter Bunny to include things like fruit snacks, and crackers, and granola bars. But holy cow! A little bit of candy goes a lot way with children, doesn't it!

Humor is

First off, wanted to say Happy Easter to everyone. At the Harty house, the Easter bunny comes on Saturday morning, so that we can have a nice, bunny free, Sabbath Easter morning. Things go much more smoothly without competing with the bunny :)

Saturday, we got to go to an Egg Hunt at a friends house. It was a lot of fun. They had TONS of filled plastic eggs, with candy and dollars and prize tickets. It was so awesome. But, with all the rain as of late, my suburban (1990) got stuck in the neighbors muddy grassy yard. I was just trying not to park in the road, but I guess I got over a little too far, and slid a tad. Yeah, that was real embarrassing. The neighbor down the street had a tow package and a HUGE chain, which they attached to the undercarriage of my truck, and pulled it out.

Later that day, we went to Boy Scout camp to get the rest of our stuff from their storage shed. See, when we first moved to Ohio, we stayed at camp for 2 months, thinking our house would sell. My husband works for the Scouts, so it was no problem to set us up for a short while. Well, the house didn't sell, and we decided to get a rental. ANYWAY, it was quite muddy out there too, and I told my husband that we should park on the gravel part, and not try and take the truck and trailer up by the cabin.

But, did he listen? Nope. He drove straight up by the cabin, and got us stuck in the mud. Guess what? No men with trucks and tow cables to get us out this time! So, we had to take the trailer off the truck, and push it down the slight hill (very muddy) without letting it get away and roll WAY down the hill. We managed, but my poor white jacket didn't. Note to self: don't wear white to Boy Scout camp.

Eventually, we did get the truck un-stuck. Then, it was off to to the storage garage. Some very nice friends here in Ohio have a piece of propery out in the country with a nice 2 car garage on it, that they've let us keep our stuff in. And guess what. The ground looked a little wet. Captain America sent me out to look and see if it was muddy. Yes, I tell him. It looks muddy. So, he decideds to try it anyway. And guess what? We get stuck again! More unhooking of the trailer, and more trying to put rocks, or sticks, or stuff under the wheels as leverage, and we're unstuck again.

What a day! It was quite an adventure, though. OK, thanks for listening to my story, and on to the WordArt :)

How funny is this! And a little bit true! I thought that this would make a good quote on a layout with children making a mess. They sure think they're funny, and we know that they've gone a bit mad! Ha!

Friends Forever

You know what, Winnie the Pooh has some awesome quotes. I really don't like the little fellow, but that may be just because I don't care for the cartoons. My daughter and I read a few short stories about Winnie the Pooh in her literature class this year (she's in K), and it's wasn't so bad. I was pleasantly surprised. Anyway......

I thought that this WordArt would be perfect for friends of all ages, but for my family, especially for my kids with their friends. Can't wait to scrap it!

This layout was sent in by Sylvia from Holland - Isn't is AWESOME!!! Love the blending, and the embellishments, and, well, EVERYTHING about it :) Wonderful job!!!

Art Opportunities

I really liked this quote. I try and help my children see this in their art projects that we do. It may not look like Dad would do it (he got his degree in Art studio), but it's good in it's own way. I try and help them see the beauty in what they create. I think that my daughter would sit at the kitchen table all day long and paint if I let her :)

I thought that this WordArt would be perfect for those pieces of artwork from our children. We have SO many of them :) We've decided to take digital pictures of all of their work, then throw away the vast majority of it. And, it's kinda fun for the kids to get out the CD and look back on their school work, and a WHOLE lot easier and not so messy :)

Thanks to Bree for the wonderful layout! Can you believe that she makes these wonderful artworks with DOTS! Amazing. Click here to see more of her wonderful work.
Here's what she says about her Art :
"I have been painting in the dot style for many years something I learned back home in Australia.. As the name implies, the paintings are composed entirely of dots.......it is a much older form of pointalism but along those lines."

Wondeful job, Bree! Thanks so much for sharing with us :)

Families are Nuts

This WordArt suggestion comes from Kristin. I've heard this quote before, and always loved it. It so fits my family :) Well, it probably fits most of our families, eh? Too funny! I can think of TONS of pictures to use with this WordArt. Is that sad? hehehehe.

Credits coming soon

Thanks, Melissa, for the cute Layout! So funny :) And no, I don't mind breaking up of the WordArt. Use it however it fits on the page! Wonderful job, my friend!
