Great Exectations

So, it was SUCH a NON normal day... Last night, I was up until almost midnight between the birthday cupcake making for Emeline and the loading of my store, and the blogging, and Joe and his puking. My life is so much fun, you know...

I got up at 5:25 am to take Jake to seminary, and slept in the car. We headed back to post after, and Joe was sick on the couch. As was Eme. She had puked too. Poor baby. And on her birthday to boot! So much for the cupcakes for her class... Crap... Now I have 24 cupcakes in my refrigerator.... Not a good thing.

Tom said that he felt a little bit sick, but he still wanted to go to school. So off to the bus he went. And I got Jim ready for school.

I took Jim to the bus, and Jake was left at home with Joe and Eme. And he wasn't doing well, so I had them go lay down in their rooms while I was at the bus. I only chatted with the moms for a few minutes, and headed back home.

Jake got ready, and headed out to school. I had Eme come back downstairs, and Joe had fallen back asleep in his room. Captain America was on Facebook, so he and I chatted for a while. And he got to chat with Eme for her birthday. And Captain America and I got to chat for quite some time. It was great!

At around 11 something, we were done talking, and Amanda came over. She brought her laptop, and I got out my laptop, and our plan was to have me do designing, and for her to do homework. We didn't get as much accomplished as we'd hoped...

Joe had come out of his room and chatted with his dad when we were chatting earlier, and had fallen asleep on the couch again. And I'd taken some photos with him and Beaver Warrior. Isn't he a cutie???

Here's Eme. On her 10th Birthday :)
Terra came over around noon. She took our "orders" for s McDonalds run, and headed out. She's such a sweetie! And, of course, as soon as Terra left, Ross Middle school called and said that Tom had puked all over the gym in PE. Nice. Now I had 3 sick kids...

So I left Amanda in charge of my sick kids, hopped in the car, and drove on up to the school. I picked up Tom, and headed back home. Too bad the Jeb gate isn't open during the main part of the day, or it would have been SUCH a short trip. But I had to go out Robert E Lee gate, and it took forever! Sigh!

I got him, and we headed home. Terra and Amanda and my kids were eating when we got home. Kids watched some cartoons, we had lunch, chatted for a bit, then Terra headed home. Amanda and I played on our computers for a bit, and were a little productive.

Here's a pic of boxer that I snapped. What a good puppy. He seemed contented with sick kids today :)
He really was sick, dispite the happy face - hehe :)
I got a few WordArt packs designed, and around 3ish, Kari and Leo came over. Leo was sick too. He came to watch cartoons with the other infected kids. Amanda and I had disinfected once couch, so the well people sat there, and we made all the sick people sit on the other couches. It was kinda funny, actually. hehe.

At around 3:15, Austin High called, and it was the Nurse saying that Jake was sick. And yeah, I wasn't driving up there to pick him up. He hadn't puked yet. He was just feeling icky. I asked if he could get sent home on the bus with a puke bag. She put him on the phone. He said he could tough it ough and make it home. I said I had to go and get Jim from the bus, and he understood. Good thing he's tough, right??? Thanks, Jake, for understanding!

I walked on over to the bus with Kari and Amanda at 3:30, and was back home by 4pm with Jim. I laid down on the "well" couch and rested until 5pm. Joe was way too sick for his soccer game, so at 5:15pm, I got Jim ready for his game, grabbed Amanda's mouse that she'd left here, and Joe's snacks for his soccer game, and out we headed. Joe was sleeping, and the other kids were entertained with electronics. And feeling a tad better.

I dropped the mouse off at Amandas house, dropped Jim off at his game, then dropped the snacks off at Joe's game. I left them with another parent, and asked them to pass them out, and explained that we had 4/5 of the kids puking. SO not fun! hehe.

And I headed back to Jim's game. Jake and I sat and chatted and watched the game. We made plans for Monday and Savers, and talked about possibly going to the library tomorrow to see the movie "The Mummy". Gotta love Brendan Frazier! We'll see how the kids are feeling. We may just stay home all weekend to avoid spreading the "plague" any further. We'll see...

We got home from the game at 6:30pm, and I had crock pot 15 bean soup with rice cooked. The kids ate a little bit, and then had pink cupcakes for dessert. I watched some "The Office" in my room, then started blogging. Joe and Tom and Jim took turns watching TV with me on and off.

I removed my fingernail polish, and filed now my nails to a MUCH more manageable length, and removed the polish. And am in the process of painting them black. Maybe I'll work on some sort of Halloween something on them... Spiderwebs would be cool. We'll see...

So once again it's after 11pm. Good thing I don't have to get up early tomorrow. I'm sleepy. VERY sleepy. Extremely sleepy. Night, y'all! Don't wake me up, k??? I'm totally sleeping in :) hehe :)

Field of Dreams

First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my only daughter, Emeline Melissa! She'd double digits today!!! The big 1-0!!! Such a mature little thing! Love you, Eme! So proud of how well you are doing at EVERYTHING you try :) You are SUCH a great young lady!!!

Woohoo! New stuff in the store, my ladies! Click here to go to the store and give it a look see! I'm sure that you'll love it!!! Now get to shopping - hehe :)

Hola! So I had a GREAT idea about setting the alarm for the little boy, and was just sure that it was gonna go off when I was at seminary. We'd see. My alarm went off at 5:25am, and Jake and I got ready and headed to Seminary. I slept most of the time during Seminary, then headed home. And found both of the little boys sleeping. Sigh. SO not what I was expecting... Sigh.

I woke them up, and had them get ready. Here's Jim doing his homework He wasn't happy...

And Joe playing with his toys.
Me and Joe posing
We went to the bus, I helped Jim with his homework there, visited with the ladies, and I headed back to the house, and crashed. Jake headed off to school, and I totally went back to sleep. Cause 2 nights in a row now, it's been after 11 when I've gone to bed! And I'm working late again... hmpf! Sleep keeps eluding me...

Anyway, I told Amanda to call me when she and Crystal were ready to go to Costco. Around 10am. And I totally slept. And the phone sent off at around 9:50am. I had 5 minutes to get ready. I looked like this:
so I kicked it into hustle mode. hehe :)

Crystal was driving, and came to get me. She and Amanda and baby Cole and I headed out. Cole fell asleep, and Captain America was on Skype when we pulled into Costo's parking lot. I volunteered to sit in the car so I could chat with Captain America and so I could watch the baby, and the girls headed inside.

It was nice to chat with Captain Americaand catch up. Hopefully we'll be able to chat more in the next few weeks coming up. Soon, the girls were done shopping, and they came out to get Cole and I and we all went inside for a Hot Dog for lunch.

Ever had a Costco Hot Dog for lunch? Oh yeah, they're great!
SO juicy!
We ate, and headed back on post. Here's Crystal

And Cole
Me and my soda. Yummy!
We hung at Amanda's house for a bit after we got back to post. Here's Crystal and Cole

Amanda had gotten these tongue tattoo's in the cereal box the other day, and there were 3 left, one for each of us. So we gave it a whirl. LOL ;)

Crystal headed home to see her hubby over his lunch break, and Amanda and I headed to Walmart to check out their prices on laptops. She wanted to replace her broken one. And I wanted a new fake Scentsy warmer for the little boys room. So it didn't smell like dog so bad. No matter how much I steam clean it, it still smells... Hmpf!

And I knew that the "Jaurez" Walmart didn't have a great selection of warmers, so we decided to try the "Pirate" Walmart. And dang, it was crowded. It had a ton of warmers, but no wax. Oh well. I did find a warmer for the boys that I liked, though.

And we found the Laptop that Amanda wanted. It's the SAME exact one that I have! But for $50 cheaper! Lucky! hehe :) Only thing was, they were out of it at the "Pirate" walmart. They said that the "Jaurez" walmart had one, and that they'd hold it for 20 minutes for us. So we paid real fast, and drove on over to the "Jaurez" walmart.

We ran on back to the electronics department, and she paid for her computer. We walked around for a bit longer, found a few more things, and paid and headed back to post. We met Kari at the CYS registration place, and found out that the Doctor who had filled out Leo's physical for had failed to fill out a critical page. So Leo couldn't be registered for Basketball. And if her kids weren't doing it, mine sure weren't! And around this time, my poor phone's battery died. It was a sad time. I wasn't quite sure what to do with myself... I really wasn't - hehe. I need to put a charger in my purse, I guess!!!

So we had her get in the car with us, and we all 3 drove on over to Biggs to pay a visit to this doctor. After finally finding the correct office, we found out that they were in an all afternoon training meeting. Sigh. No signature today...

So we headed back towards post. But stopped at Sonic first. Then dropped Kari off at her car, and headed back to Amanda's house. We plugged in her laptop, then headed to the bus stop. We visited with the moms for a bit, collected our kids from the bus, and headed home.

I had my kids do chores, and got a call from Jake a little after 4 asking if he could walk to Nicks house (Crystals 15 year old son). I said it was fine and that I'd pick him up on the way to therapy).

Joe went to play with Leo at the Park, and Kari said she'd keep an eye on him. Amanda came to pick up Eme and deliver her to her soccer game. At 4:40pm I grabbed Jake and we headed to his appointment. We got there RIGHT on time!

I'd grabbed my phone by that point, and it had a small charge to it. We sat in the office for a minute before the receptionist came in, and she was like "Oh no, didn't you get my message???". Um, no? The therapist had gone home sick. She'd cancelled the appointment. Crap...

So Jake and I loaded back up and headed home. I cooked some homemade dinner for the kids, and had them continue with their chores. At least the house was looking a little bit better. I took some pasta and cooked it up, the browned a lb of sausage, melted in a package of cream cheese, a can of pasta sauce, and combined it all together. It was Heavenly!

I dished up the food for the kids, grabbed a bowls for myself, and decided to catch the tail end of Eme's game. I sat and watched for a bit, but was SO distracted by this man and woman standing outside the chain link fence surrounding the fields. They were chatting and having a great time, but their language was TOTALLY unacceptable for a little kids' park/area. F-bombs and such the whole time. Finally, a park official came and asked them to leave. Good thing. It was totally offensive!

Here's a picture of my pasta in the bowl. We decided it looked like little brains! It was Halloween pastas!
After the game, Jim and I joined Joe and Kari and Leo and Josephine at the park. And we made a new friend! Kim lives near the bus stop, but her kids go to a different school. She had a 16 year old boy with sever autism, and another boy with... um, yeah, can't remember no what he had. Bi-polar maybe? Don't quote me on that. But she seemed super nice and sweet. And Kari and I both know all about special needs teens and the struggles and such. Been there done that. We don't bat an eye at it anymore.... hehe :)

Anyway, we talked until it got dark and we had to put kids to bed. We came back home, I baked cupcakes for Eme to take to school tomorrow, and started working on loading my store. I sent the kids to bed at 8pm, and Joe, out of the blue, started puking. Whaaaat? The same kid who played at the park all evening long?

I texted Kari, and she said that Leo started puking too! Strange! Must be that stomach bug thing that's going around? It sure hit the poor kid hard. Kari texted me and said that Leo had puked ALL over Josephine. I didn't envy her that particular mess to clean up. hehe.

Great. It's now 11:30pm. Again. Oh well. I guess if Joe is too sick to go to school, then I'm not playing at all tomorrow, and I can nap all I want, right? I'm having an "at home" day. So I can sleep. Maybe we'll have a cartoon marathon... Any suggestions for old cartoon series to watch? I like Darkwing Duck and Kim Possible. OK, I really need to put this away and go to bed. BEFORE it becomes midnight. I'm waking up at 5:25am for Jake to go to seminary, you know :)

Beautiful yellows! I'm loving that field of yellow flowers! Great one, Sharon :)

Cries and Whispers

Hey there! So my alarm failed to go off this morning. Up side was that I got a full 8 hours of sleep. Luckily Eme decided to paint her nails, so the nasty smell woke me up. Unfortunately, it was at 7:10am. Yeah, we gotta leave for the bus at 7:15am! And the little boys were still asleep!

We made it out the door at 7:17am! We were quite rushed! But we made it - hehe. Thank goodness for those yogurts. ha! The girls and I stayed and chatted for quite a bit, and I made plans to go and pick up the dresser from the new chickie. I told you about her, right?

I can't remember... She was very nice, said she just moved in, had a dresser they didn't need anymore, and that I could have it. So sweet :) I did mention something about me having "Give me free things" written across my forehead. LOL.

Anyway, I got her address, and headed home . Jake was awake by that time (late start school so we were skipping seminary), and was hanging on the couch with Boxer. I hopped in the shower, and got ready to go to Kari's house for my massage. It's good to have friends with skills. hehe.

After an hour, the knots were worked out, and I headed back home. I changed clothes, and Jake and I headed to the Scout Shop for an errand. We wanted to get a new scout shirt for Joe, and I wanted to get an advancement poster for the wolfs, and I wanted to get hats for Leo and Joe. And it took FOR-E-VER! Sigh. They were having issues with the credit/debit card machine, so it took another 20 minutes...

So we lost the time we were supposed to have to go to the Dollar Tree. dang... Oh well. We swung by Big Lots, and looked around for a bit. It was a good time. Jake found fake hand he liked. LOL :)

We didn't stay long, cause I had to get him back to post. I dropped Jake off at the bus stop, and went to pick up Kari. She and I were going to Yoga. I SO need to get back into exercise. I really do :)

Yoga was great. I really do like yoga. I love how relaxed it makes me feel at the end. We finished up, and headed back home. I dropped Kari off at her house, and picked up Amanda. She and I went to the Mall to pick up her rings she got cleaned/fixed last week, then to Ashley furniture to see about her warranty thingy. Yeah, more drama there. Long story short, don't get stuff there! And don't buy the extended warranty! It's a rip off!

We went to Wendy's for lunch at 2pm, and got a Jr Bacon Cheeseburger meal, and a frosty. Yummy! We sat and ate and chatted for about an hour, and had a great time :)

We headed back to post, swung by Amanda's house, and grabbed me some headache meds. I didn't have enough caffeine quick enough today (bad, I know, that I need it...) and I got a headache, and we headed to the bus stop.

Kari and I and Rebecca ended up staying after and chatting till around 4pm. Then we headed home. I worked on my Cub Scout stuff, got the truck loaded for Scouts, had the kids do their chores, got kids changed for soccer/scouts, got people ready, homework done, and we loaded up to go. I just need an extra hour in the evenings! hehe :)

We headed out to practice at 5:15pm with all the kids. Kari was there with Leo, and Amanda and Austin met us there to play with Jimmy. My older boys went to play in the Youth Center this week, also. Kari and Amanda and I chatted in the sunshine on the bleachers. It was a grand time.

I played with Austins fire hat and pirate patch. Yeah, I have way too much fun. And I was wearing my new Autism Awareness shirt I had made for myself that came in the mail today. hehe. It even says HARTY on it. Isn't it cool? hehe :)

After practice, we loaded all the kids and Leo up in the truck, and headed out. We swung by Burger King and got a dollar burger for each kid, a diet soda for me, and off we went. I had the kids wok on a puzzle together for the opening activity, then we went outside and did a requirement. We came back inside and did a craft project, then worked on some bobcat requirements. Next week, we're gonna work on our flag ceremony stuff and our den flag some more.

We headed home a bit later than I wanted, and dropped Leo off at his house. And came back home. I tried to get the kids in bed before 9pm, but it was closer to 9:15 before they were alseep. I set an alarm for 6:40am for Joe and Jim's room. We shall see if it works or not. I told them to get up and get dressed and eat and work on homework when they wake up. We shall see, right??? Even if they just got up and got dressed, I'd be happy!

I started blogging, and was SO distracted, that it took forever. Maybe I needed to start blogging without the TV on. I watch "The Office" (Older episodes) wile I do it, and it's STILL so good that I find myself doing more watching and less blogging. Maybe it's time for a different thing to watch... hehe :)

It's 11:30pm. Wednesdays are hard for me, since I start my nighttime routine so late. I need more sleep. I'm gonna sleep at seminary nicely tomorrow :)

Kari and Rebecca (maybe) and I are going Hiking tomorrow. Then I'm going to Costco with Amanda and Crystal at some point tomorrow. And Jake has therapy at 5pm. Amanda said she'd take Eme to her game at 5pm (5:30) also. Thanks, my dear, for helping out!

Beautiful layout, Sharon! Love it, my dear :) looks fantastic :)

Bringing Up Baby

Hey there guys. Quite the busy day at the Harty house. I didn't know it was gonna be quite the madhouse it turned out to be when it started, but dang if it wasn't!

I got up at 5:25am, and headed out to Seminary with Jake. And fell back asleep in the parking lot. But ended up playing on Pinterest the last few minutes because I was freezing. See how cold I'm looking. This is me freezing!

Jake got in the car, and we headed back to post. I got Tom off to the bus, and got Jim and Joe all ready for the bus. Eme, thank goodness, was already ready.

And off to the bus we went. The kids got on the bus, and the moms chatted. There was a new family that moved into the new housing down the block. The mom seemed pretty nice. They had 5 kids, oldest was in the 3rd grade, youngest was 1. I remember those days. hehe. I'm glad I'm where I am now, though. hehe :)

I went home, saw Jake off to school, and got ready to go grocery shopping. Because we had no food in the house. Nothing at all. I dorked around at the house for a bit, found an outfit with white accessories (and my white Miche purse).

Anyway, Amanda came and picked me up, and we headed to Walmart. We grabbed a sausage biscuit and a soda from McDonalds (check out the table-less booth!)
and started shopping :)

And my cart starting filling up. Funny how that happens, huh? Deeper and deeper into the bowels of Walmart we went...

And we were almost done.... Here's Amanda's cart. Yeah, you can totally tell that she only has 1 kid, huh? hehe :)
And here's my cart. All filled. That's how you know when to stop shopping, right? Because you can't possibly fit another product in. LOL.

Nice face, huh? Maybe this face is the reason that I get weird looks all the time. IT's supposed to say, Crazy amount of groceries, huh? Unfortunately, it just says "CRAZY". hehe :)
I have too much fun at check out stands...
Isn't King Sized Minis an Oxymoron???
Amanda went first, and paid for all of her groceries, price matching the soda, 4 packs at $2.50 a 12 pack. Then it was my turn. I got all the groceries, 2 new books, a new shirt, a school hoodie for Jake for xmas, and a new pair of jammies for just under $300. Not bad, huh? Considering I haven't been grocery shopping in about 3 weeks or so...

We got to Amanda's car, and went to put away the bags, and found a leaky milk! So back inside we headed. Yeah, SO not happening!
No use crying over spilt milk! We exchanged it for a different one:) I definitely got my workout today.... hehe. OK, so maybe not. lol!
Next stop was Walgreens. Amanda had a buy 2 Cover Girl cosmetics products, get $8 off coupon, and Walgreens had a buy one get one 50% off sale running! Sa-weet! So we were gonna go get some make up. But first, hairy lips???? I wasn't sure what this was at first... hehe :)

We ended up with 8 different Cover girl products (foundations, eye liners, eye shadows, blushes) for under $8. Retail at over $50. Good deal, huh??? I bought some new Orange and White and Yellow nail polish, since we'd run out of time for a nail fill. And if I was gonna have to have funny nails for another week, then I wanted to have better candy corn nails. hehe. Better polish is worth it!

We headed up to the front to pay, and I found this. Um, yeah, I know it's an apple, but WHAT is on it. That ain't no caramel apple! What the heck???
And I got this precious text from my mom and Maddie today of baby Jack! Isn't he SO cute!!!
Amanda dropped me off at home, and helped me carry in all my groceries. She headed home, and I put all my stuff away. Dang, it takes forever. I finally got it all put away, and I put on my new shirt. Isn't it cute??? I bite. ROFL! I thought it was too funny :)

I gathered up my stuff for the library, and my nail polish, and headed over to Amanda house. I showed her how to put on the 4 colors of eyeshadow, and then pained my candy corn nails. Check out her pretty blues and greens!
Soon, it was time for the bus. And I parked my truck WAY too close to this "tree". Yea, I call it a tree cause it's taller than me. Hey, our standards here in Far West Texas are VERY loose... hehe.
The girls chatted, and finally the bus came. Check out ALL the kinders with their fire hats! Must have been fire prevention week. lol!
We got the kids, ran home really fast to grab a few treats and Tom, and headed to the library. Amanda brought drinks, Kari made banana muffins, and I brought carrots. We had yummy snacks and watched the movie Harry Potter 2 with the kids. I worked on an Invite to an FRG coffee for Kari, and we all chatted and had a grand time. If the internet had been going faster, it would have been SO much easier. LOL.

My kids were SO excited that the magazine with Austin on the cover was ALL over the library. Hehe. I had to go and see what they were talking about. It was the Bliss NOW magazine. ha! Good one!
Harry Potter is a SUPER long movie, so we didn't get home till around 6pm from the library. We cooked Sausage Egg Cheese English Muffins for dinner, and then Leigh, the neighbor lady, knocked on the door. She was letting me know that the commissary had DDP for $0.33 a bottle for 48 oz sodas. Sweet! And of course we had to chat about kids and sports and school and such.

But then, we were SUPER late for practice. I got Jim ready, finished off the food, had Joe grab his homework, grabbed the food, gave Tom and Jake and Eme the direction for staying home, and off we went. And we still made it with 1 minute to spare.

I spent the whole time at the game working on Kari's invite, and yeah, there was SO much info on the thing. We decided that it had the amount of info that a Flyer should have, not an Invite. Invites have a TON less info than a flyer does. Good to know, right? hehe.

Anyway, we stayed a few minutes after practice, but finally got it done. And as I'm typing this at 11:40pm, I just realized that I failed to send the file to Kari! I'm SO sorry, hon! You totally needed that sooner than later - I suck! I'm sorry :(

Anyway, we loaded up to head home, and Kari left just before me, and my car wouldn't start. Something about needing to jiggle the part you stick the key in. And it totally wouldn't turn over. OR move. Or wiggle or nothing. Sigh. I tried a few times. And waited. And tried. And waited.

Yeah, I texted Kari to see if she'd come and pick me up.... No response. I texted Amanda. No response. I put it on Facebook. No response. Crap! Now what? the little boys were starting to panic.... I knew that we'd get sooner or later, so I wasn't really worried. Someone would eventually find us - ha!

Kari called, and wanted to know if we still were stranded. Yup. So she headed on over, and brought Brian with her. Thank goodness! He hopped right in the car, and jimmied with it like he knew what he was doing, and it started up! The thinks that if he replaces some something, that it will fix the problem. Um, ok. Be my guest! Go for it! As long as my car starts when I need to go somewhere, I'm all good! hehe :)

They headed out, and so did we. I got my kids to bed, and let Jake stay up and watch a movie. The Freshman and Seniors at Austin High School don't have to be to the bus tomorrow until 11:30am. Some testing or something. Who knows? All I know is that we're skipping Seminary, and sleeping in! Thank goodness!

I put on my new jammies, and sat down to blog. See, aren't I cute!

No, it's not shiny metal pants, it's my laptop. I'm not quite that cool. ha! I watched a little bit of Lord of the Rings with Jake, then went in my room to watch some TV. Soon, Captain America was on Skype and we chatted for a bit. They had a situation in the past few days, and it's been a trying time for everyone. He was still having a bit of a hard time. Poor guy. He's getting ready to go on 24 hour shift, but hopefully after that, we can talk for a while. I'll be glad when this deployment if over. It sure takes a toll on a person, you know...

It's now almost midnight. So much for getting my beauty rest... I guess if I go to sleep right now I can get 7 hours. And that's pretty good, right??? Wednesday, Jake starts school late, I'm getting a massage, kids have Cub Scouts, I wanna swing by the Scout Shop, I wanna finish planning for my Cub Scout lesson, and I'm going with Amanda to the mall. I wonder what other adventures we'll have??? Cause you know me! Adventures await me at EVERY turn!!!

So precious, Sharon!! Pink and black/gray! Awesome :)
