We'll see how I feel in the AM. ROFL!

13, 14 Maids-a Courting

So it was an EARLy morning! 6am, and we were all awake and getting ready to take Paul and Carol to the airport! They had a 8am flight back home :( I was really sad to see them go! We'd had SUCH a great time together!

I threw on some clothes, and let the kids know that if they got dressed and ready for school, that they could come to the airport with us! Then I'd just drive them back home to the bus stop. EVERYONE wanted to come. But I couldn't wake up Jake. Go figure on that one.... His loss, right?

We were all loaded up in the suburban by 6:40am, and headed out to the airport. CPT had to hug his parents goodbye before leaving for PT, so he didn't get to come either. Tom helped with the luggage. We drove the 5 minutes to the airport, and Tom helped unload and carry the luggage to the curbside baggage check in. Then we waved goodbye, and they were gone! I hope that their flight was good! See you guys next time!!!

And we headed back to post. We drove straight to the bus stop, and the kids watched Astro boy until it was time for Tom's bus. They had fun. I just kinda vegged. I don't know why I was SO extremely tired!

Tom left, and we had about 5 minutes before the little kids left. We just stayed. Soon, they were gone too. I went home, and yelled up for Jake. He was mostly awake, and seemed disappointed/surprised that we'd left him. You snooze, you loose... I have no idea how to wake someone up if they don't wanna be woken up, you know...

He got up and got in the shower, and I was SO tired, that I went back to bed. And then CPT came back from PT and got ready for work, and Jake left for the bus, and I was still asleep. And CPT left for work, and I was still asleep. And yeah, I slept till 11am!!! I must not be feeling too well! I never do that! hehe.

When I woke up, I got some food, then called Aunt Sue to talk about Miche. I gave her some pointers, and answered any questions that she had. We chatted for about an hour. Then, after we were done talking, Kim and I went to the Dollar Tree and to Costco. Kim wanted a membership, and I needed a few basics.

I wanted to do dry/erase chore charts for my cub scouts, and I figured that I could get mirrors at the Dollar Tree and do that! Good idea, huh? I got all the stuff, and ended up getting Dry Erase markers at Costco, 16 for $10. Each of the boys could have one, and I'd still have some left overs. And I'd know that they would work for sure - LOL. Sometimes the Dollar Tree stuff doesn't work.

We got an ice cream on the way out the door, and headed home. We were a tad late, so we went straight to her school to pick up her kids. Then she dropped me off at home, and after unloading all of my crap, and my kids came home from the bus, I took Eme and Jim to piano. Kari took Joe to the library day downtown, and Tom and Jake (once he got off the bus) hung out at home.

Jim and I just hung in the suburban and watched Rocky and Bullwinkle. I designed. It was a quiet afternoon. Eme did her piano lessons, and I decided that I wasn't gonna continue with the lessons on post. Going thru post is costing me $60 a month for an hour of group lessons. And private lessons is gonna be $72 for only 30 minutes. I just don't have that in the budget. We were using free deployment dollars before, but that's all ran out!

Charlotte will do 30 minute lessons for Eme for $10 a week. $40 a month is SO much better... I texted her asking about starting that up in April. She said any day except Wednesday. Sounded good to me!

After lessons, we headed back home, and I told the kids that it was Cereal for dinner night. Everyone (except Jake, of course), hopped up, and grabbed some cereal. I got my junk together for Cub Scouts, and made a sample Chore Chart. They looked pretty good! I was sure the boys would like them :)

I also got some cheapo games for them to play before hand. A bowling game, some peg games, a tic tac toe game. Stuff to keep them interested while everyone gets there. Time fillers, you know. I got those organized too.

And soon, it was time to go. CPT was staying home tonight with Jim, and I was taking everyone else to their meetings. I told the kids to go and get in the suburban. Jake was like, Um, what was for dinner??? I told him that we had had cereal hours ago, and to go and get in the suburban. Whaaaat? he said. No one told me. Yes I did, I said. You just didn't listen. Sigh. Special needs are SO much fun to deal with...

After a bit, though, we were in the suburban, and on our way to the church. A tad late. And once we pulled up and unloaded the vehicle, I realized that I'd forgotten to pick up Kari's kid, Leo!!! Oh crap!!! I texted her to let her know. I'M SO SORRY!!!

We really did have a good meeting. We always have the same disruptive kids, but I always plan on them being disruptive. That's just how they are. One of them has a special need, and he's just that way. The other one isn't diagnosed with anything, so its either just not diagnosed yet, or who knows? Parenting (is that harsh? I'm sure people said that about Jake and us when he was that age...)

We did the games, then had the opening exercises, then talked about the chores, then made the chore chart, then had snacks. I chatted with Lane's mom after the meeting, and finally gathered up all of our stuff, gathered up the kids, and headed home. I had to stop and get some gas on the way home, though. We were running on an empty light. That's my sign to get more gas. hehe.

We dropped Leo off at his house, then came home. The kids went to bed, and I blogged. CPT was working on Scout Committee stuff, so we both working on our computer stuff together. It's now 9:45pm. I'm finishing up blogging, and he's ironing. We have therapy together tomorrow. And then he has a lunch thing at work, and I think the girls and I are gonna go to the movies. To the dollar one. Should be a good time.

Night, y'all! I'll see ya in the morning :)

9, 10, A Big Fat Hen

Hey girls :) I'm gonna make this brief :) It's almost 10pm, and CPT and I and the in-laws are sitting around chatting. It's been a good and long day. Wanna tie this up and get to bed. I didn't sleep well last night, for some reason.

Anyway, got up and got the kids to the bus. Dang, it was early. hehe. Was it always this early? ROFL! Daylight savings, that's right! LOL :)

So yeah, I got Tom, and Eme, and Joe and Jim off to the bus, then worked on Jake. And he just WOULDN'T wake up! I ended up pouring 3 glasses of water on him! Sigh. And it didn't even phase the child! I was getting frustrated, though... He eventually did get up and get moving. I kinda sat on the couch and vegged for a bit :)

Jake got on the bus at 8am, I got ready, and CPT left for work. I went to get gas, and picked up Kim at 8:15am. I went back and picked up Paul and Carol, then went to get Kari. And off to Savers we went. The Silver Tags were $0.99!!

I found a few things. Some Sunday pants for Jim, a pair of jammie pants for Joe, an Easter dress for Eme, a baby doll dress/shirt for Emeline. Not too much. Mostly, I just had fun looking around and goofing off.

After Savers, we paid and headed over to the Dollar Tree. Paul and Carol wanted a few things for their flight on Wednesday. And I wanted to look for bread and Easter decorations to go in place of my garland with Christmas Ornaments. Yes, i know... That is STILL up... hehe.

We paid there, and headed back to post. I dropped off Kim and Kari, then pulled into the driveway JUST as CPT was coming home for lunch. Carol rode with me, and Paul rode with CPT, and we headed to Carols and Mickey's for lunch. SUPER yum!

I got the chimichungas (or however you spell that) and they got the sombrero salads. I was ready for a change. I always get the sombrero salad. We had a great time eating and chatting at lunch. CPT had to run after her was doing eating, and headed back to work. We finished up eating, and paid, then headed back home.

Carol took a nap, and Paul and I hung. I designed for a while, and he and I did some chores and shared some caramel corn with Boxer. Shhh, don't tell! I took down the Christmas ornaments and put up the Easter decorations. I'll take a picture tomorrow if I remember :)

Tom came home at 3:15pm, and at 3:30ish, I went to get the little kids from the bus. I ended up staying and chatting with the girls for a while. The temperature had dropped again! It was super chilly outside! It had even hailed pretty hard earlier! Dang weather! hehe :)

We finally came back home, and I got everyone ready for the pool. I brought my laptop, and managed to get 2 WordArts designed before friends showed up. I hung with Nicky, and then Kari came too. The 3 of us had a ton of fun. At 6pm, we finally drug our kids out of the water and took them home. Funny, because they didn't really wanna go in the first place.

They were FREEZING cold, so we cranked the heat, and headed home. We stopped by the mailbox, and I was excited that CPT's all black Otterbox had came in. I got it from eBay for only $20. CPT was home, and Paul and Carol were both awake. Nice! Jake was playing video games (dad was ok with it).

I decided to make chicken and gnocci soup. I'd found potato gnocci at the Dollar Tree, and had left over whole milk and half and half from the ice cream in the fridge, so a creamy soup was PERFECT! Too bad it took FOREVER to cook - hehe.

Butter, onions, garlic, spices, chicken stock, half & half, milk, gnocci, canned chicken, bacon bits, and I can't remember what else. Flour.... carrots. Yeah, those didn't get all the way done. Should have pre-cooked them first... All sorts of stuff. Dang, it was SO good when it was done. Super creamy. Take that, Olive Garden! hehe :) And I had gnocci in EVERY bite.

After dinner, we had Family Home Evening.. Jake was being disrespectful, and was sent to his room for early bedtime. But everyone else participated. We watched a video about having a testimony of the Book of Mormon (from President Eyring - SUPER good). I'd never seen it before! CPT did a good job finding it. President Eyring delivered it with SUCH emotion and heart and feeling.

After Family Home Evening, we put the kids to bed, and the grown ups sat around and chatted. I worked on my blog as we chatted, and yeah, it's almost 11pm now. I didn't do a good job in being brief, OR focusing... hehe. I got distracted. But I'm going to bed now. Or maybe I'll watch the season finale of Walking Dead with headphones! ROFL! :)

7, 8, Lay Them Straight

So when we went to bed last night, we'd talked about getting up early and going to White Sands, Ruidoso, and Cloudcroft for sight seeing. And skipping church. But yeah. We had 2 pukers overnight. And CPT didn't feel so well either. So we decided to scrap that plan. I let CPT sleep in, and we decided to just take the others to church.

We had a a relaxing morning at home, then were ready to go to Sacrament meeting at noon-ish. We sent the kids off to class, and Carol and I went off to Relief Society. It was a good meeting. From the Teachings of the Prophets book. Good lesson. They said that they were gonna have a 10 days before Easter thing coming up, with quotes and stories and scriptures and stuff to read, and I thought that I'd share that with y'all when I get it. Not sure when they'll pass it out.

We couldn't find 3 seats together in Sunday School, so we sat out in the hall together. ROFL! And soon, it was time for Sacrament meeting. Jake passed Sacrament, and then we had the missionaries speak, and then the High Counselor spoke. And he was FABULOUS. He told the best stories.

I was paying SUCH close attention, that after Sacrament, I looked over, and to my left and right, I had SUCH reverent children.... Um, yeah.... kind of...
Jake and Jim had BOTH fallen asleep..... Nice. We gathered up our troops, and headed home. It was SUPER windy today. Gusts of 65 MPH at least the weather said. We got to the gate, and our guard had the BEST solution! I took a picture of him in my side mirror - hehe :)
At least I had good hair gel in - not a hair out of place - hehe :) My big earrings were gonna beat me to death, though! And my dress was gonna end up over my head!!!

Eme and I - I have an Eme mustache!
I thought I was cute-ish today, so I snapped a few pictures after church :)

SUPER big earrings
After church, I made homemade chili from scratch, and CPT continued to make homemade ice cream in the ice cream maker. He'd been working on that while we were at church. We ended up having 3 batches. SO stinkin' good!!!

We had chili, and cornbread muffins, and homemade ice cream. SO yummy! In the evening, we watched the war movie Patton. We put the little kids to bed at 7:45pm (yeah, they didn't go to bed, I could totally hear them upstairs...), and let the big kids stay up till the end of the movie. It's now 9pm, and the movie JUST got over.

Time for bed, y'all! Going to go to Savers in the morning, and shop for a little while, and run some errands. 2 more day with the in-laws. I'm still THOROUGHLY enjoying having them here! I'll be sad to see them go!

5, 6, Pick Up Sticks

Hey guys :) How was your Saturday? Ours was fantabulous! We got to sleep in! hehe. CPT woke up and went lifting, and I hung with the family. And did chores. Then got them ready for Mandatory Fun. What, you're not familiar with that term? Well, it's like a company picnic, but you are REQUIRED to go. Hence the mandatory party. And the picnic making it the "fun" part. hehe.

Paul and Carol didn't wanna be out in the sun that long, so they opted out. At 11am, we headed up to Kelly park for the picnic. They had bouncy castles galore! One with Velcro, one like "wipeout", one with a bungee run, one with a obstacle course, one with a boxing ring, all sorts of stuff! Plenty of things to keep the kids busy! We just let the kids go and do their own thing, and let them know where we would be sitting.

CPT had a lot of people there that he knew to visit with. There were a few ladies that I knew that I visited with. One was Mrs. Daniels. I enjoyed her. I stayed with her most of the time. Soon, it was time for lunch. Potato casserole and corn and steak and hot dogs and rolls and all sorts of WONDERFUL stuff! It turned out to be a lot of fun for "Mandatory Fun". hehe.

We ended up leaving around 1pm. And headed home. As we pulled into the driveway, I realized that Leigh was having her Cookie-Lee Jewelry party. Oh crap. I was supposed to go to it! It was 1:30, and I was SO supposed to be there!

CPT said to go and stay for about 30 minutes, and that we'd go to the museums that we were supposed to go to at 2pm. Sounded good to me. Leigh was gonna host a Miche party for me in April. So I needed to go to her party.

I got there, and they had a lot of really pretty jewelry. But it was expensive for me. I don't wear expensive stuff. Cause I break it or lose it. And that bothers me. ha! I don't mind breaking or losing cheap crap. ROFL!

Anyway, I guess it took me longer than I thought it was gonna, because soon, CPT was sending small children to look for me. I picked out what I wanted, and paid. And then CPT was there looking for me too! It was 2:30 apparently! Oh crap! I got my necklace and earrings (I had one more that was ordered at 50% off) and headed out.

We had to take 2 cars, because we had 9 people, and we headed downtown to the Holocaust museum. I was a bit worried about 5 children, one of which was special needs, at a Holocaust museum. But they all did fabulous. Everyone was respectful. My mother in law thought that I was worried about people being too sad. Nope, I was worried about disrespect. You can see that with my group, right? But they all walked along and watched the movies (4 in total along the self guided tour) respectfully, and I think that they learned a lot. And that it made an impression. Especially on Joe.

Jim wanted to know why there was a model of lots of people standing naked in a shower. So I had to tell him all about that. He seem mortified (as he should). He was sobered at the thought.

After the Holocaust museum, we had an hour to get to the Border patrol museum across town. We got there with 40 minutes to look around. With was great, because it was very hands on for the kids. They had vehicles to play on, and mess around with. They loved it. We ended up getting shirts for the youngest 3, and suckers on the way out for all the kids. They were excited. LOL.

At 5pm when the museum closed, my car full of people headed back home, and CPT's car full of people headed to the commissary to get stuff for a cookout. I came home to blog, and he's still at the commissary. We're having a cookout tonight. Yummy!
