Special Dad

So yesterday, my #4 child, Joe, got sick. The puking kind. Gross. He was running a fever, and puking, and puny. Well, last night MY tummy started to feel queezy. I sure hope I'm not getting it too! Maybe I just need to lay down and rest on Saturday. Wait, can't do that. I have 5 kids. I guess I'll just have to NOT be sick :)

OK, for as hard as the other quotes were for today, this one was easy. It just kind of fell together, and I really like the finished product. This WordArt request came from Melissa, and I just love the quote. How true it is. I'm so grateful that my husband is such a great Dad to my kids.

Perfer to Laugh

This WordArt suggestion is from Dana. First off, sorry it's taken so long to get to your quotes. See, the problem was that they were too long. I put them aside, thinking I could get back to them and figure them out. Well, I've come to the realization that they were just too long. I did manage to get this one to work. Really, WordArts work best if under 10 words. That's not a hard set rule, but I've found it to make designing a bit easier.

I did like this quote though. It's actually longer, but I dropped off the last sentence. Again, too wordy. Isn't it so true to life. I find myself in so many situations where I have to either "laugh" or "cry" with my children. I try my best to make it a laugh! That's how I want my kids to remember me :)

Love Child (Adoption)

This WordArt suggestions comes from Tara, who is trying to adopt a baby. I don't really know a lot about adoption, but think that it's a wonderful thing. Tara is "Paper Pregnant", which means that they are approved for a child, but waiting for one to be available (is that right?). She wanted to see this saying turned into a WordArt, and I think it's wonderful. I think that even if we aren't adopting, sometimes we feel like this as women, waiting to have our children. I know I loved each of my children, even before we had them :)

My husband gave me the suggestion to do this WordArt. He's a big Civil War History guy, and loves learning about Robert E. Lee. At first, I wasn't quite sure what it's application would be, then then I started thinking, wouldn't it be funny to see on a page with a husband doing a job that we asked them to do. Hehehehe. OK, I have to admit I'm not an animal lover. I know, most of you are, so I'm kinda weird out here, all on my own, but I have 5 kids under the age of 11. Do I really need anything else running around my house making messes and going the bathroom on the floor (and Melissa, I used your advise and used Duct Tape to keep the diaper on the 2 year old...it's worked so far!). OK, I think that the 4shared issues with the following posts may, at last, be fixed. Not sure, but it's worth a try. I went in, and re-uploaded them again. My thought was, if I uploaded them again now, maybe they'll go onto a different server, one that "likes me!"

So, if you couldn't get it before, try again :) Sorry it's screwy sometimes. They always tell me it's something with their servers. Who knows :)

This picture was taken when my parents came out to Ohio (from Oregon) for a visit at Thanksgiving time. They took us all to the movies (to see Disney's Enchanted), and we arrived about 45 minutes too early. Jimmy had fallen asleep, and I was doing my best to keep him asleep. While it is precious when they fall asleep in your arms, it's better if they're newborn, cause they sure get heavy when they get older!

Hey all. I was just thinking, it's a shame that not all of my WordArts have a layout to go with them. So the kids in public school here in Ohio have missed a lot of school lately because of weather. Lots of "Snow" days. My kids, being homeschooled, haven't missed a day. They didn't like that, but it helps us get done on time a lot faster. Well, this morning, when I tried to logon to our Virtual Academy, their site was down. Well, kids, I guess we have a "Experiencing Technical Difficulties" day!

This is a WordArt suggestion from Kim, that unfortunately got lost in my gmail account. I just found it, so sorry for the long wait! My bad :) I still remember when President Hinckley became the prophet, I was a freshman at BYU. I did love President Hinckley. While we're all sad to see him leave, I'm sure he's happy to finally be back with his sweetheart again. And, I TOTALLY love President Monson. His granddaughter was was in my building (same floor) at BYU my sophomore year, and he dropped by for a visit. I was able to shake his hand, and he asked where I was from. Oregon, I said. He was such a nice man. Seemed like the perfect grandfather.
