Well, it's Saturday today. I'm up in Portland (actually posting this on Thursday night), having a GREAT time. My dad's at home with my 5 kids, taking them to sports and entertaining them. Did I mention lately how AWESOME my dad is? No? Well, DAD, YOU ROCK!!!!

Life Rewarding

Wow, guys. I'm really tired tonight! (remember, pre-publishing). The stupid credit card place woke me up 2 mornings in a row, at 5:30 am (rrgh!!!), and then this morning, Jimmy woke up at 5am ish, and got into bed with me. I was too asleep to kick him out (ha!), and too awake to go back to sleep. So I'm working on 3 days with short sleep. I'm gonna sleep really good tonight :)

I don't know about you all, but "paying the bills" day sucks. Maybe I need to do it more than once a month - LOL! Then it wouldn't be such a big undertaking. Anyway, that's how I spent the morning. And, I switched over our car insurance. And I saved us $40 a month. Not too bad, eh? I'm using USAA (military). What friendly people they have working there. I got new car insurance, and set up a checking account too. All over the phone. Gotta love that :)

Did I tell you all that I get to go away for a "girls weekend"? For you LDS girls out there, it's a "Time Out for Women". I'm SO excited! My mom and I, and a few of her friends, are heading to Portland on Friday. We're staying at the Marriott (ha! I'm a Motel 6 girl, myself - this ought to be a new experience for me!). Kenneth Cope is gonna be there and is gonna sing, and Chieko Okazaki is gonna talk. Some other people who I didn't recognize, but I'm pretty excited :)

I told my 11 year old, Jacob, about it. I told him we were gonna drive to Portland, and got to a meeting where we listened to "church" speakers. He was glad that he was staying home - hehehe. Well, Jacob, I'm pretty excited about those "church" speakers - LMBO! It ought to be a very nice Friday/Saturday trip :)

Joy in the Journey

Here's a few pics of Emeline, on her 7th Birthday :) Isn't she a cutie! This is one of the new tops that Grandma and Grandpa got her. She was so pleased that her hair was getting long. You're so pretty, Em!

Here she is, with her mini cake, her wand, and her tiara. She thought she was hot stuff - LMBO!

And, she got a Rescue pet from Grandma and Grandpa. She was THRILLED with it! It was soft, and snuggly, and made sounds, and moved it's eyes. She was in hog heaven! She also got a phone call from her dad, a card from Joy Simco, money from Grandma Ida, and money from Aunt Sue/Uncle Steve. I got her a helium balloon and new socks (yeah, lame present, but the paycheck isn't in yet - LOL!) I did go to the dollar store, and get some little goodie bags filled with candy and stuff, and took them to her class. That counts, right - hehehe.

Yesterday was day 8 of jogging. Someone was asking what kind of pace I have, and it's really quite slow. We ran a 12 minute mile. That's not very fast, but it's faster than walking. Captain America and I used to walk a 17 minute mile. So by jogging, I cut off 5 mintues. That's not too bad. And, after the mile, I could have ran more. That's really saying something for me. It felt good. No stitch in my side today. I think I'm gonna bump up my distance next week. 2 weeks at 1 mile, then maybe 2 weeks at 2 miles. We'll see how it goes next week :)

AND, I'm on the re-feed part of my diet now. Did I tell you this? Can't remember. Anyway, I'm gradually adding more and different foods to my diet. Today, I got to eat a pear. It was tasty :) I'm up to 3 pieces of bread a day. The pineapple I got to eat was AWESOME! And, my stir fries are SO much bigger than they were before. This is kinda fun - hehehehe. I'm now at 140 lbs. It's so much fun! (My heaviest was about 240 (I may have been prego, but can't remember), so I'm 100 lbs lighter than then - ha!)

Yep, it's WordArt Wednesday again :) Week 18 - can you believe it. My does time fly :) I really liked this saying. And it's SO true!

Dream About You

Hey guys! So, how was your Monday yesterday? I spent a good portion of the day reading Stephanie Meyers, The Host. I was pretty busy when I first started reading it, and it's taken me a while to get into it, but let me tell you, it's FANTASTIC!!! I only have about a 1/2 left of it, and I just can't wait to find out what happens! It was hard to get the rest of what needed done today - LOL! I went jogging at 10am, Joe to the bus at 11:30, put away WAY too much laundry, went to my Grandmas with Jim and fed the birds, cooked dinner, had an appointment at 5:00, picked up Jacob from his friends house at 6:00, dropped off Tom at practice at 6:15, finished cleaning up the kid's room (I'd made a HUGE mess re-organizing), forgot to pick up Tom at 7:15 (oops!), put kids to bed, and finally got onto the computer. Today I should have more time for designing - LOL! Or reading - yeah!

But, before I go any further, I just have to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMELINE!!! Yep, my little girl is turning 7. How did she possibly get that old! We love you, Eme! Hope you have a FANTASTIC day :)

Bring Sunshine

Yesterday was a great Sunday! I got a phone call from my hubby, Captain America, before I went to church (he'd already been and was back - 3 hour time different, ya know), and then talked with him again after church. Then, the kids and I went over to a family int he wards house to hang out and have dinner for the evening. It was SO much fun. They're a Coast Guard family. Their son is the same age as my son, Jacob. It really was a great time :)

So my first week on jogging went well! 6 days last week - 1 mile each day. I'm on the part of my diet where I'm adding back in different foods, so that is fun. I'm SO enjoying my new smaller body (why didn't I do this YEARS ago!), even if that means giving up the "enjoyment" of food. I find that I find enjoyment in other things now. And, I have all sorts of extra time - thinking about/eating/cleaning up after food takes a lot of time - LOL!

And, Happy Birthday, Lewis! Just had to throw that out there - Captain America's older brother's b-day is today. Hope your day is wonderful!!!

Fall Fun

Well, it was another football Saturday yesterday :) And, both of my boys WON their games! My 6th graders team finally won! Last week, they made their first touchdown, and this week, they won 14 to 0. They were SO excited! Way to go, Jacob! Tom won his game too, and Eme did such a good job cheering. Good job, kids!

I talked to my sweetheart last night. He's doing well. The first week of trainings were good, he said. He is SO liking being around guys who really WANT to be there, and "get" it. They all more mature than the group he was with at Basic. I think he's really gonna do well there. He sounded happy and enthusiastic. It's amazing how comforting his voice can be - I'm SO glad that he has his cell phone :) He's gonna call again today, and Monday. Too bad I don't live closer. They get weekends off, so we could go and visit!
