Who I Am

I was very proud of myself this morning! When my alarm went off, i actually woke up - hehe. No sleeping in for me today :) I decided that I was going to Savers once the kids were on the bus. So I got ready, and gathered my donate stuff, and got the kids ready and out the door and on the bus.

Kari and Amanda wanted to come with me too! More fun with friends, right? Amanda came to my house, and she and I and Jim went to pick up Kari. In the Saturn. Yeah for the little zippy car :) And we made it to the West side Savers by 8:30am. And yeah, it opens at 9am. Oops. I always thought it was earlier than that... my bad.

Amanda suggested going and looking for soda, and I thought it was a GREAT idea. There was a Circle K up the road a bit, and I was pretty sure it had DDP. Cause the 24 hour, big Circle K's have DDP. So we went to check it out.

Yup. DDP. Sweet! I got a refill in my Howdys cup, let Jim make a mix in the 32 oz Circle K cup, and Amanda got a soda. Kari doesn't drink Soda so often. But she found some sour Mike & Ikes that she bought :)

And we drove to Savers. 10 minutes left before opening. That we could handle. We sat inside the car and chatted. Not lined up like the other people. hehe. Can you believe that? They actually went and lined up to get in. ha!

Hi Howdys! (Even if you are really Circle K Today...)
And finally, it was open. And we headed inside. And all went our own directions. I headed to the skirts. And found 2 or 3 that I liked. And found a pair of shorts for Jake for school uniform, and 2 polos. And some Sunday slacks for Tom, and some swim shorts for both Tom and Jake, and a few tops for me, and a bunch of pants for Jim and Joe. All in all, it was a good find day! I even got a new bathing suit! I looked it up online, and it's a Magic Suit from Nordstrom, retailing for $168. Yeah, I got it for $8. Much more my speed...

We paid, and headed back to post at 10:30am. And made it in time to drop Jim off at the bus, then Kari off at her house, and finally back to my house and Amanda's car. We'd decided to go run errands together day.

I grabbed the package that I needed to mail for Captain America, and dropped my stuff off in the house, and we headed over to Amandas house. And dropped off her stuff, I used the bathroom, and we headed to the bus to pick up her kid.

We made plans to meet with some of the girls tomorrow at Souper Salad. And invited a girl from Amanda's bus stop to come too! Nicole. Her hubby is deployed with mine, so I already knew her. Super nice girl :)

And then we headed to the Post Office. I got my box mailed, and picked up some more shipping supplies. Customs forms, and boxes, and labels. And then headed to the PX. First stop, prescriptions. I got my migraine meds. See, FORM LINE HERE...

Next stop, Food Court. Burger King for a McFrugal Salad. Yeah, nasty. But cheap. I got 2 side salads and 2 dollar burgers. Took off the buns, and crumbled it into the salad. I'd rather have a cheese sandwich, but I wasn't thinking far enough ahead to do that...

It was funny, cause when I was in line to get my food, I asked for a crown. And the people in front of me laughed. I was like, Hey, I need a new profile pic for Facebook. And they laughed even harder. LOL.

Next stop, the Exchange. Amanda had a few things to get, then we wandered for a bit. I found this cool broom thingy and dustpan. Yeah, if it had been Zebra, I SO would have bought it - hehe.

It was 1:30pm, and we headed back home. She dropped me off, and continued with her errands. ( when we left the PX, I filled up my Howdys cup with soda. I'd bought a soda from Burger King, and it was free refills, so I figured that I was allowed)

At home, I let Boxer out, and started cleaning. I did a load of dishes, and swept the kitchen and living room, then mopped. It really looked a lot better when I was done. And then it was time to get Jim from the bus.

We came back home, and I made a box of cupcakes. Chocolate Marble with vanilla frosting. And then I made 3 homemade pizzas. Mmmm, yummy!

And the kids got home from school, and because the pool was closed because of mechanical issues, we decided to go to the park for a picnic. So I cooked up the pizzas, and headed out to Kelly Park. And got there, and it was closed. But that was ok, because Amanda was at Biggs. We'd both thought a different park. LOL!

So I drove on out to Biggs, and she and Austin and my 4 youngest and me had a nice little picnic. Jake was at the youth center (REAL close to Biggs park). And Terra and her twins and 12 year old came too! We really had a fun time in the sunshine with the kids. We'll have to add something like this to our rotation. FUN times at the park :)
We stayed till around 6pm, then headed out. But made a new friend at the picnic table next to us, and ended up talking for another 20 minutes. hehe. She seemed pretty nice. But she lives off post, so the likelihood of running into each other is kinda low... Who knows, maybe she'll come to the pool with us like we suggested :)

Finally, we headed out for real. And stopped by the Youth Center to get Jake. And i snapped a few pics while I was there. Here's the XBox room he likes so much.

Here's the Lego room
Jake logging out
And back to home we headed. After chores and homework, I let the kids have free time. I had dinner real fast, then designed some freebies. Joe played outside with his friends and their sprinkler. Yeah, in his clothes. hehe. Not swim clothes...

Jim rode the scooter for a bit, then watched some Kim Possible. Tom went with Noah, Leigh's boy, to his last game (whatever sport it was) and party afterwords. Jake played on his computer, and so did Eme. It was a nice and quite evening. I put the little kids to bed at 8pm, and Jake and I watched an episode of Chuck.

Then I put Jake to bed, and Tom got home at 9pm, and he finished up some homework, and headed off to bed. And I realized that I hadn't blogged yet. Darn, that was freebie designing I'd been doing, not blogging. hehe. I totally convinced myself that I was done for the night, and that I was gonna get to read. Oh well. So I started on blogging.

And it's now about 15 minutes before 10pm. I'm gonna finish this off, then go read my book. Book 4 of the Mortal Instruments series. Seems pretty good so far :)

Tomorrow, I'm getting Jimmy to childcare at 8am, then I have the appointment for Jake with the Autism Doctor at 9am. Then take him back to school at 10am, get Jim from the childcare center, on the bus at 11, and lunch with the girls at 11:30.

And remember my good friend Leslie who moved to Hawaii? Well, she's gonna be back in town for a few days, and we're doing lunch on Wednesday!!! SO stinkin' excited!

I haven't heard from Captain America in a few days. Maybe he'll be around to chat tonight... I should email him and see how he's doing...

Love You Mostest

Bandana girl. hehe. Here's my picture that I took of ALL of my many bandanas. 38 to be correct. I played a game on Facebook last night, and yeah, I need to work on rules. ROFL! It took a whole day to complete. Next time, I'm putting a time limit for guesses. I'm not good with long time games. 30 minutes to an hour would be best... LOL

I woke up on time this morning, and even showered! Be impressed. Seriously :) I listened to a conference talk while I got ready, and here's the finished result :)

We got everyone ready, loaded up, and headed off to church. I finished off my day old Howdys 64 oz DDP before the meeting. LOL :)
And Jake was actually GOOD during church! We brought a few scripture "readers" for him to look at during the Sacrament part. And it worked! It was comic book form, and seemed to keep him entertained enough. Thank goodness! And the other kids were good too :)

After Sacrament, I put kids in their classes, and was asked to fill in as the assistant Sunbeam teacher again. Those little kids are SO cute :) We did Sharing time, singing time, then went to class time. First stop, Bathroom. Cause the 64 oz needed to come out - ROFL!

We had a short lesson about bugs, then grabbed out the playdo. Kids LOVE playdo. Heck, I love playdo - hehe. We had SO much fun :)

One of the kids made me a man! Yes, I need one - hehe :)

Next, it was snack time. Water and fish crackers. It's funny, because I subbed last month when they learned about fish, and I taught them to dunk their goldfish into their water. Yeah, they were STILL doing it. ROFL! Yes, parent, you can thank me now....

They all wanted their picture taken with me....
After snack, they cleaned up, and were given a piece of paper, a crayon and a sheet of bug stickers. And I taught them how to put stickers on their faces. Yeah, they wouldn't try it, but I sure had fun - LOL!

I think the real Sunbeam teacher was a ready to be done when it was over, but I'd thoroughly enjoyed myself - hehe. Being the sub assistant is a wonder job - LOL!

We gathered up all the Harty Kids, and headed home. And changed clothes, had lunch, and did a quick round of chores, then watched a movie. And yeah, I didn't last long. I eventually moved to the bedroom, and took a NICE long nap. Oh yeah, gotta love sleeping :)

And I so needed one of these when I woke up - LOL!
And soon, the doorbell rang, and the coolest, bestest, nicest, most wonderful family in the WHOLE world had brought me a HOWDY'S!!! (Not that I condone shopping on Sunday...)
Definitely the way to finish up a Sunday afternoon - hehe. I cooked Pigs in a Blanket for the kids (because we'd done popcorn for lunch, and I didn't think that lunch and dinner of popcorn would be appropriate...)

After dinner, we watched Dante's Peak, then I put the kids to bed. And Jake and Tom and I watched an episode of Chuck. And I"m gonna put them to bed when it's done, and read for a bit. And then sleep, and the new week will start. Wish me luck :)

Finding Joy

(10th of April??? Really??? How did a 1/3 of the month pass by already! Time is going SOOO extremely fast!)

Welcome to the weekend! Although I don't really like weekends with Captain America gone. Too much time alone with the kids. ROFL! They used to be my favorite times :)

Anyway, I woke up at 6:45am, wanting to make sure that Jake got up for school. A lot of the kids were already awake. Then, I realized that it was Saturday. And that we could sleep. ha! So I told the kids to go turn on the TV, and I went back to sleep. LOL!

I finally crawled out of bed around 9:30 or 10am. hehe. That's a perk about Saturdays and older kids!

We did a few chores, and hung for a while. I worked on my bills, and printed out a grocery shopping list. Then went through it, and decided what all I needed to buy. I got ready, and picked a shopping buddy. Joe was coming with me today :)

We headed out around 11am. First stop, post office. But it was closed. Sorry, Captain America, I'm gonna have to go up there on Monday to send your package....

This was a home fill job. I took a 44 oz cup and 2 Diet Sun Drops (or whatever those are called), and some ice from the freezer, and viola! Homemade Howdys drink. hehe.

Joe and I went to the commissary, and shopped for the week. Unfortunately, I left my list at home. Good thing I'd just gone through it, and knew what I needed, and the quantities. Here's the dude unloading the cart onto the conveyor. Joe wanted to help him, but I think Joe was slowing him down - ha!
Joe got a few sips of my soda, but by this point, it was empty - just ice.
We paid, made a quick Circle K run for a DDP refill (only 44 oz) (cause it's close) and headed home. The kids all helped unload the groceries, and I put them away. And started on lunch. And the kids did their chores.

Here's me taking a quick break
I used the El Taco Tote creation from yesterday, and remade it into something else - ha! 3rd meal out of that! I used it as a filling, and stuffed 10 flour taco shells. Then put them in a casserole dish.

And mixed 1 can of cream of chicken soup, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup milk, some shredded cheese, and a dash of Garlic Onion seasoning, then poured it over the burritos, and shredded more cheese on top. And baked at 400 until done.

THey really did smell good when they came out. And the kids actually ate them, too!

The rest of the afternoon was pretty lazy. Kids had finished up their chores, so they got free time. Wii, Gameboy, Laptops. Yeah, Saturday turns into electronics day in our house. Because they're at school all day long most of the time, and Sunday is no gaming electronics...

Jake asked to be taken to the Youth Center around 2pm, and I said that I'd come pick him up between 9-10apm. Works for me :) I chatted with my mom on the way home, and stopped for Gas in the Saturn. Then home to the kids. I was online for a while, and was really bored. I'm usually not bored. But I didn't wanna focus enough to design, so I just screwed around on Facebook and email most of the afternoon.

And around dinner time, Terra texted and said that she could play! YEAH!! Grown up interactions!!! Just what I needed :) She came and picked me up around 5:30pm, and we headed to L&J's restaurant. Where we went on St Patricks Day. LOVE their salads.

AND they have DDP!!! But not in this picture. This was me after eating the SUPER yummy, but SUPER spicy red salsa with chips. I was DYING! My lips and mouth were literally on fire... Dang, should have got a picture of the flames, huh? This will have to do.

Oh yeah, and I HAD to show you the cool sinks in the bathroom. For a hole in the wall restaurant/bar, it sure had a fancy sink!
Here's the red salsa..... EN FUEGO!
So when the waiter dude walked by, I asked if he had any "White People Salsa". He laughed, and said that he'd bring some Green Salsa, that was milder. Good, cause this White Girl was DYING!

And here's my salad! I got the Beef Fajatas and Terra got the Chicken Fajatas. Neither of us like avocados, so we have the "yucky" plate...

After we ate, we headed out to Walmart.

Terra had bought a sewing type kit at walmart to make a purse. And I wanted to make one too! So we went to the Pirate Walmart where she'd gone earlier in the day.

And I found the kits, and yeah, the only one I liked was hers. And we didn't want to have the same one....

So I bought some fabric that was black and white and red, and I decided that I'd just use the pattern from hers, and make mine. And I'd figure something out for the handles... I'm creative, you know...

And I found some camo pants for Jim for only $3 a piece. And a pair of khaky slacks for Jake for $2. And a shirt for Eme for only $2. And a few $0.50 bandanas for me. Because I don't have enough, you know... I'm gonna count them one of these days... In fact, I think I"ll count them now, and make a Facebook game out of it....

Anyway, we paid, and headed home. But not without stopping at Howdys first. All she had in her van were 32 oz cups....

I bought myself a new 64 oz cup!

And got a 64 oz drink for Ryan, because he'd never had one before - hehe. She let me come home with her so we could deliver his drink and get a picture. Then she dropped me off at home.
I put the kids to bed when I got home, and Tom and I hung for a little bit. At 9pm, I left the house, and went to get gas in the suburban. And then went to pick up Jake at the teen center. Earlier when Terra and I were out, she showed me an app that she uses on her phone called FourSquare. It's a game, of sorts, that allows you to "check in" places, and you get points from it. But you can make it where only your approved friends see where you are. And, since I go EVERYWHERE, I figured it would be fun!

So I checked in at the gas station, and at the teen center, then again when I got home. Sweet! I can really rack up the points, me thinks. hehe. Watch out, Terra, I'm gonna beat you, my dear!

Anyway, got Jake at 9:30pm, and headed home. And I relented, and Tom and Jake and I watched an episode of Chuck. But they promised me that they would get up on time in the morning and have NO complaints about going to church. I'm gonna hold you to that, you guys!

And then I finished blogging. It's now 11:05pm. I thought I'd be done faster... I wanted to take a bath and read for a while. Oh well. Maybe I'll just read in my room for a little bit. I'm gonna go get one last sip of my Howdys drink that I'm saving in the fridge for tomorrow (since I don't shop on the Sabbath, I was smart, and stocked up - ROFL!), then go to bed. Night, all! Sweet dreams :)

I made this WordArt for my sister a while back, but I can't remember what she needed it for. But I figured that it was cute enough to share with y'all! Hope you enjoy!
