I woke up with my alarm around 7:30am, and found the little boys' Sunday clothes from laundry man. And sorted out Laundry man, and now he's in the process of becoming "no more". Don't worry, I'm sure he'll be back.
I peeked out my door, and no one was dressed yet. At least they were all up, right? I told them all to go and get dressed, and I continued getting ready. No shower for me, I was gonna be slumming it - hehe.
And then I worked on getting Joe and Jim dressed. And Joe, bless his heart, had to tell me something super important. See, it seems that the kids had staged a coup. Yup, it was either Jake or Tom, and they'd put it to a vote, and decided to hide my keys. Because, if we couldn't drive to church, then we couldn't go.
I don't know what Joe voted, but he came and told me, then went and got the keys and brought them to me. And yeah, he got SO much flack from Jake for that. Good job, Joe! I was proud of you for doing the right thing!
I tried to not make too big of deal out of it, because honestly, what would I do? And we got ready, had breakfast, and headed out to church. With a Diet Mt Dew and an apple for me. I was gonna need it!
Jake was awful all the way to church. Finally, I told him that for each talk backy remark, he'd "earn" an hour in his bedroom. He was up to 9 hours before he finally shut his mouth. Oh yeah, it was gonna be one of THOSE days....
So we go inside, and just make it before the meeting starts. And I put Tom and Eme in the row in front of us, and I'm in between Joe and Jim, and Jake is sitting by Joe. And by the time we got 1/2 way through Sacrament meeting, I had to kick Jake out of our row. He was being SO loud. Sigh. He seemed to do much better sitting by himself.
And the rest of Sacrament passed without incident. I'm sure I didn't get as much out of it as I should have, what with mutinous kids and all, but I tried.
And then the kids all went to class, and I went down to primary. And offered to help out where they needed me. So I was the helper in Sunbeams. 3 year olds are kind fun for 2 hours. If you can give them back - hehehe.
The Sunbeam leader was pretty cool. The lesson was about water, so she brought balloons for the kids to play with, and said that they were "water". Then, she took this little blanket, and put pom poms on it, and we each grabbed a corner, and threw it in the air, for "snow". That activity lasted for a good 15 minutes. hehe.
And I did snap a few pictures of the dog playing with the balloon (it's yellow, and up in the corner) before I retired to my room for a nap.
(Poor boxer has been scratching at his neck again...)
And finally went to take a nap. And decided to record how many times my kids bugged me while I was trying to nap. Here goes:
(Spread out over my 2 hour attempted nap)
1. Jim: Joe stole my balloon!
2. Joe: Mom, I ran into a wooden pole outside, and now my head hurts
3. Jake: Mom, I'm still hungry and I already ate lunch
4. Joe: Jake said he'll be super good if he can come out of his room
5. Jake: If I did all of the laundry in the whole house, can I come out of my room?
6. Emeline: Tom wants to know if he can come out of his room.
7. Emeline: Can we switch the afternoon snack from popcorn to pretzels???
Yeah, that's when I gave up, and got up. Sigh. I did sleep, though. So that's good. Even if it was interrupted.
Here's me after waking up from my nap. (that's my TRY and wake up face)
Then we made cookies. Eme did most of it, and I even let her wear my new zebra apron. She was SO proud! And Joe and Tom and Jim helped too. We used the cookie press, and put Valentines M&M's on the top. White and pink and red. They were ADORABLE! We made about 14 dozen. They were small. hehe.
I sent Jake over to Kari's house to drop off a plate, and to retrieve his laptop that he'd left over there. Then I started on dinner.I made sloppy joes, and everyone liked them. That's a first - hehe.
1 1/2 cup ketchup
2 tbsp mustard
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
It was real sugar, and I ate it, and I SO wasn't used to it. It kinda made me sleepy - hehe.
After dinner, Jake asked if there was ANYTHING he could do to earn his way out of his room. I told him that if he helped Joe and Jim (or just did it) clean their room, that he could be out. So he did it. And even vacuumed it. So I pardoned him. hehe. He was extremely grateful. Hopefully next week, he'll be better. Hopefully...
We had family prayer at 8pm, and I put the kids to bed. Then Jake and Tom and I watched one episode of Chuck, and they went to bed at 9pm. And I started blogging. And it's now 10:30pm. I just kept getting distracted... You know how that goes :)
Tomorrow should be another great and fun day! Lots of fun activities planned :) As always! I'd totally planned on taking a little stroll around the neighborhood with the kids and delivering cookies to friends, but didn't get around to it. Now I have 12 dozen cookies sitting on my counter. I think I'll have to get rid of those tomorrow too....
