Apple of my Eye

Hey there guys! Happy Halloween :) Well, yesterday :) Hope everyone had a fun time trick or treating :) We sure did. We got a ton of good candy! And my kids shared a lot of it with me! Thanks you guys :) I definitely got my fill of chocolate! No more for me, thanks. hehe :)

So my alarm either didn't go off this morning, or I just slept right through it. Either way, I didn't wake up until around 6:30am. So Jake totally missed Seminary. Sorry, Jake. I got up in time to see Tom off to the bus at 7am, and got the other kids ready for the bus. And walked them over to the bus stop.

I chatted with Rebecca for a few minutes, and invited her to come hiking with us at 1pm today. She said that she'd LOVE to come if she was done with her meeting by then. I said that I'd text her around that time and see how she was doing.

I did some chores after the kids got on the bus, and got the house a little bit cleaner than it was. Then changed clothes, and went to pick up the girls in the Suburban at 8:30am. Kari and I and Amanda and Kim were going to Savers. My favorite Monday routine. hehe. We headed over to the East side, and got our "shopping" on.

It was Green tag day today. I found a few things for the little boys, and a few skirts for myself. I got a skirt for Eme, a pair of Sunday slacks for Jake, and a nice sweater for Tom.

Check out this coat that Amanda found for $0.99. Um, yeah, isn't it lovely. hehehe :)

This fish platter was also $0.99. I ended up getting it. I don't know what I'm gonna do with it, but I thought it was kinda cool. It's made out of ceramic. Maybe I can put fish sticks on it. ROFL! Or little fish sandwiches. hehe.
We were looking in the dresses section, and found the most hideous dresses. And Amanda had the idea that we should dress up as "sister wives" for Halloween. Since Kari and I and Amanda and Veronica and Terra were all gonna be trick or treating together with the kids, and Brian was gonna be the only dad there. We thought it would be SO funny. All these moms, and just one dad. If we had the funny dresses. And the tennis shoes.

So, of course, we bought them. But then Veronica couldn't come. And Terra didn't wanna play. But Kari and Amanda and I dresses up. And we conned our other friend into wearing a dress 1/2 way through the night. hehe. Little did she know she'd be wearing a "sister wife" dress. hehe. We sure did get a good laugh out of it...

We paid, and headed out of the store. And donated some stuff for a coupon for next time. And I saw this cool antenna thingy on the car next to us, and took this picture for Jake. He was wanting to get an antenna thingy...
We headed back to post, and it was 11am. Kari's hubby called, and said that he was off for the rest of the day. So we dropped her off at her house, then Amanda and I and Kim headed to the Commissary. See, Sonic was having $0.50 corn dogs from 5-close today. But I was wondering if it would be cheaper to just buy a box of them from the commissary. So we went to comparison shop. ha! Plus, I didn't wanna go home and clean. LOL.

We went to the commissary, and I ran into a friend from 1st ward, Danielle, in the parking lot. Hadn't seen here in a while :)

We went inside, and of course I had to pose with some of the cardboard cut outs.

We grabbed a few things that we needed in the commissary, paid, and headed home. I dropped Amanda off at her house, then dropped Kim off at her house. And had 10 minutes to go home, get my stuff put away, and go back and get the girls before our hike at 1pm. Yeah, I like to cut it close. hehe.

I ran back home, changed, put stuff away, cleaned out the car, and headed to Kari's house. Then got Rebecca, then went and got Kim. And over the mountain we went. We parked at the closest hiking trail, and off we went. I put my keys in Kari's backpack, and we hiked for about an hour. And it was SUCH a great hike. I just love El Paso. It's SUCH a beautiful area :)

I so wish that I wasn't the most out of shape of the group, but yeah, I guess it has to be someone ,right? hehe. Oh well. I did my best to keep up. It really was a lot of fun, though. I enjoy hiking in the Franklin mountains :)

We hiked, then headed back to the car. And I tried to fish my keys out of Kari's backpack, but yeah, the pouch that I put my keys in didn't have a bottom! Whaaaaat? Crap. They must have fallen out somewhere on the trail. Freak! Kim had to call her friend to go and get her kids. And Rebecca and I and Kari headed out on the trail again to look for the keys. Luckily, they weren't too far down the path. Still, we were a bit off pace.

We headed back to post, and dropped Kim off at Ft Bliss elementary and her car. Her friend was there with her kids. And we headed to our bus stop. Our bus had JUST let off our kids, so we'd just made it. And we headed home.

I switched up the chores a little bit, so we worked on them for a bit. Then had a little bit of free time. We started dinner around 5pm, and were ready for trick or treating by 6pm.

Kari and kids stopped by our house at 6pm, and then we walked over to Amanda's house. We got some funny looks on the way, too. I thought it was SO funny :) If not sister wives, then we looked Amish. ROFL! Poor Brian. Look at the expression on his face. hehe.

And off we went, walking around the neighborhood. We were out from 6-8pm. The kids got a TON of candy. Jake had fun walking with one of Terra's twins. They were SO cute together :)

4 moms and a buttload of kids. ROFL! Terra is taking the picture :)
We walked around for a bit longer after this picture, but the kids were all getting tired, and it was getting close to bedtime. Tom and Jake called it a night soon after, and then the other kids were ready to come home soon after. We were all inside by 7:50pm. I put the kids to bed by 8:15pm.

It's now 9:45pm. I'm SO ready for bed. I've ate my fill of Halloween chocolates. I'm so done. hehe. I'm done blogging. I'm done watching Warehouse 13. I'm sleepy. And exercised out. I have a therapy appointment tomorrow. Not sure what else is going on tomorrow. Library after school. And yoga....
