Food, Friends, and Fun

Morning, all! Hows the week going so far? Mine's pretty good. I got up at 6:45am, read scriptures, said prayers, got ready, got kids ready, and on the bus at 7:30am.

I spent the morning on my computer, designing a little, checking emails, facebooking, etc... And I'm not really sure what I did for the morning, but it passed - LOL! And soon it was time to get to the bus.

Oh yeah! I remember! I went to the post office a little after 10am to ship Captain America's trunk! Almost 40 lbs, and $82. Dang, that's SUPER expensive! It had a ton of stuff that he wanted in it, though..

Anyway, got back home in time to pick Jim up, drop him off at the bus, and head to Kari's house to pick her up for Yoga. And we were a few minutes late, but we got there before it started all the way.

A skype call from Captain America came in as we were heading to the room, but the connection was SO bad that I didn't call him back. Looking back, maybe I should have. Just skipped Yoga and called him on skype. Sure do miss that boy!

But I went to Yoga, and got myself centered for the day. It was SO nice. Lots of stretching and calming myself. Gotta love it.

We were back home around 12:30pm, and I got ready for lunch. I chatted with Captain America for a few minutes on Skype as I got ready for lunch, and he headed off to bed. It was super late where he was. Anyway, at 1:15, I was ready to go, and went outside in the sunshine to wait for Kari.

And then we headed to Olive Garden. Jake was picking up Jim and Maggie's son, Jake, from the bus stop at 2:30, so we were all set! Woohoo!

It was Kari and I and Maggie and Veronica and Laurie and a girl from the neighborhood who's hubby is in Captain Americas battalion named Nicole came too! It was a fun group. We ate and chatted and laughed and joked and had a blast! Thanks, girls, for the fun at lunch!

Soup and salad and breadsticks is SO yummy!

And on the way out, Kari and I found this truck - ROFL! And I wanted my picture taken in front of it. And, of course, the dude who owns it walked out as soon as I struck my pose. LOL!

And check out my POOR finger. I picked it (hangnail) at lunch, and saw that it was bleeding, so I put on a bandaid from my purse. Then checked it again about 15 minutes later, and it was ALL bloody. Crappy bandaids, me thinks... This is my 2nd soaked bandaid...

We got home around 3:30pm, when the kids got off the bus. And then I went to pick up Tom and Eme from AQ, brought them back home, and was SO tired. I felt like I was getting a headache, so I took some tylenol and advil, and a decongestant. And I was out of the non drowsy one, so I took the drowsy one :) Which was probably why I needed the nap. LOL.

Anyway, I went and laid down, and was woken up at 5pm to Joe crying about something or another... What a way to be woken up, right? I felt like I'd JUST laid my head down on the pillow. Before I'd laid down, I'd re-done the chore chart, and had set the kids about cleaning up. Really, they did a pretty good job.

I cooked dinner (chili and cornbread), and the kids and I made some cookies, and I designed for a while, and soon it was time to get ready for Scouts. And I realized that I'd failed to have Joe do his homework. Crap. I decided to have him do it when he woke up in the morning.

We got Boxer in his kennel, and out the door we went. We dropped Jake and Tom off at Scouts at church, and Eme and Joe and Jim and I went on to Carls Jr. I sent the kids in to play, and I ordered a big drink and a large fries for everyone to share.

And yeah, look, I totally left the funny bandaid on my head - hehe. I'm such a dork :)
Nice zits, right? What's up with that! I've got about 4-5 new ones, today alone. SO not cool... Anyway, I designed and realized that I could get free Wi-Fi. Sa-weet!

We headed back to the church at 8:30, picked up the kids, and at 9:30am, everyone was in bed. I laid down with Jim and Joe for a bit, and durn near fell asleep in there. hehe.

Jake and Tom went to bed shortly after, and I sat down and started blogging. And watching an episode of Persons Unknown. And somewhere in the middle of blogging, Captain America Skyped me! I got to video chat with him for a few hours, and it was SO nice :) Just chatting and hanging out with my honey :) Miss ya, babe!

Anyway, it's after 1am, and I'm still blogging. And I'm still watching TV. And I'm still sleepy - hehe. But I'm happy. And love my sweetheart :)

Awesome, Sharon! Good one!

Thanks for the word arts you leave us! :)

The rule in our house was no playing after school until homework was done. I always thought my mom was mean, but there were no late night cram sessions or trying to do it on the bus.

Hi Bethany,

I want to thank you for all your terrific word art. I want to thank you for the time and effort you put into it and your generous spirit in sharing it. How awesome of you to share your "talent" with us. I envy you your ability with word art, its not something I find comes easy to me.

I want to tell you that though I've come to visit more than a few times I've not always left a comment and I feel bad when I "download and run" - so today, for the times that I have not thanked you ... well, THANK YOU!

I know, as a designer, sometimes I'll get hundreds of "views" and only a fraction (and sometimes NO) comments - so I know how much just one comment can mean. Today, I hope this comment tells you just how much I appreciate you.

Sweet pics, thanks for allowing us into your lives, your day.

~ Barb
